Had a wonderful stay with my family in February 2019. We were counting the days to return, as soon as the global pandemic allowed. Tonight is our 4th, in a 5 night re-encounter. It is really so very, very sad... The food services are closed. The personel currently at reception can not be compared to the top class, welcoming and efficient staff of 2019. Towels with holes placed in our suite`s bathroom. Amenities (soap) were only available from the 3rd day onwards. Even the building itself now shows the signs of the generalized management decay. To make matters worse, today we suffered the robbery of 8 US$20 bills from the room´s safe ($160). We reported the case at the reception. The main person in charge, a lady whom we have not seen once these past 4 days, would not accept to talk to me on the telephone - even as she was talking to Giordano, the reception staff, in front of us. Obtained the telephone of a Mr. E. Williams, apparently the number 1 person in charge of the hotel, through some local entrepeneurs. We wanted to comment on how the present stay is in contrast with that of 2019 - he never took our call either. And this was just such a great place to stay, once upon a time!
