We have been to many 5* resorts in the Maldives, this is our honest review. Having reached International airport, I was somewhat surprised that there was no rep from the resort to greet us, we made our way to the resort desk where we found the representative, I was informed that their was no lounge either in the airport or surrounding area, the rep asked us to go and have a beverage in a coffee shop (pointing to some shops) and come back in 30 minutes as they was waiting for another guest, so not the best start from a resort described as 5* We went to this hotel for are 23 Wedding Anniversary. LOCATION Takes approx 30 mins to reach the resort from Male in a Speed Boat ROOM We stayed at the Coco Residence for 12 nights on a All Inclusive basis. On arrival at the room, there was a hand written card and a lovely anniversary display formed on the bed made out of towels. There was also a bottle of sparkling wine. Whenever we got back to the room, we always found the room had been cleared really well. We were made aware that the the mini bar was not included in the all inclusive. We have been to THE MALDIVES many times, always staying in overwater villa's I can confidently say these Villas are the largest I have stayed at, that be said I found them very dated/tired and needing work. - Tiles missing in the pool, some with very sharp edges, my foot got cut. I was told by the butlers, that these villas were made 20 years ago. What I found very dangerous was the long bridge connecting the villas to the island, this bridge is very narrow and their is no safety, so one missed step and your falling into the ocean, the butler told me previously a member of staff had fallen in. If you are not a swimmer or a poor swimmer this would be fatal as their are very few ladders to climb back up, I counted maybe 3 on the entire bridge. Believe me especially in the evening, you are very exposed on the bridge, open to the elements and can very easily fall in. I mentioned this to the staff, but they thought it was funny. RESTAURANTS Although we are on the resort All Inclusive Plan, the reality is you are capped with the amount of times you can use each restaurant. You cannot restaurant hop, so if you are at restaurant A for dinner, then if you want to try restaurant B, that's chargeable. For us the buffet restaurant had the most choice and the one we usually went to. FOOD All the food is laid out beautifully. I was looking forward to the deserts but unfortunately, we found them tasteless, real shame. BEACH one word >> SUPERB SPA Day 1 we went to the Spa and booked ourselves in for a couples spa every other day, this was 90 minutes each and cost around $460 total each time. this was a deep tissue full body massage. Speaking to numerous other guests, they were astonished that awe paid $460 Numerous other guests told me, they paid $60 for 1hr We paid $230 each for 90 minutes which made no sense, I was also shown proof that they paid $60 for 1 hr I
