PROS 1) lovely location close to all the main attractions, can walk all the way to Ribeira in 15 mins, and to the Mercado in 5 mins 2) connected to the Artist Garden hotel so has some dining options too 3) It is a training hotel (internships from the college next door) also work here so its realy wonderful to give students an opportunity 4) knowledgeable front desk for recommendations etc 5) Uber is very inexpensive in Porto, you can travel easily 6) special mention to housekeeping staff who always were keeping the room well stiocked and clean CONS 1) there is no concierge service - so although the hotel claims to be 5* it is not; you will have to move your luggage around yourself if your bags are heavy or you are not very physically mobile All other things were EXCELLENT

Large room and bathroom in quiet neighborhood about 10-15 min walk from main shopping street and 20 min walk from main touristic areas. Was greeted with pastel de nata and port wine at check in and staff was super helpful and friendly. Nice courtyard in front of the hotel and sitting area with garden in back *shared with Editory Garden hotel.

Within walking distance to everything. Very helpful staff. When booking tours, have to go close to the train station to get picked up.

We stayed for 3 nights at the hotel and booked a Gallery Double Room (no 201). We arrived early and was warmly greeted and immediately offered glass of port & pastel de nata ..... well why not ! Our room wasn't ready but we were able to get the paperwork done and leave our bags which was great (and they popped them in the room whilst we were out). The room isn't large but for a city break was fine - nice comfy bed, one comfy chair, TV and mini bar. The hotel provide complimentary water in the rooms. The bathroom was good and nice shower which was over the bath. One small gripe (and sadly this hotel isn't alone in this) but they need to provide more hangers in the wardrobe. Yes, most people will only be staying for a few nights but even so couples need more than 4 hangers ! .... even if they are nice ones. Breakfast wasn't extensive but all the usual fare was available - cereals, yogurt, fruit, bread, as well as a toaster :-), and a selection of pastries (including mini pastel de nata's). Tea & Coffee are ordered fresh. They only seem to have small amounts on offer at the buffet so by the time two of you have had some fruit juice, or cereals the juice or milk need filling again ...... same with the bread. The buffet was regularly stocked but just seems like an opportunity to make more available at the outset. The hotel is located in a quiet street a little away from the main centre (which is one of the reasons we chose it) but its still only a 10min walk to the main shopping street or about 25mins to the Luis I bridge. The hotel has a comfy bar area but this was pretty quiet when we stayed (empty on two of the evenings) and offers free WiFi's which was very good.

Nicely appointed rooms; friendly and helpful staff ; delicious breakfasts; quiet location but walkable to main regions. We did not try the price fix menu but likely Y very inventive. The area was quiet and slep well even w hen window s were open

This is a wonderful boutique hotel with a fantastic staff that welcomes you with a glass of port. . The rooms are spacious, modern and comfortable. The location is perfect—on a quiet street just a five-minute walk from the heart of the action. I would gladly stay here again.

The hotel is very tastefully decorated, partly with products from world-famous designers. It is extremely comfortable and is located on a quiet street in Porto, from which you can reach most of the sights on foot. Our room was very spacious and had a wonderful bathroom. It should really go without saying that hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The staff at the Editory Artist, however, are more than that: they are warm and take loving care of their guests. We felt particularly comfortable and will definitely come back. The only thing I could think of to improve is the breakfast: coffee in thermos flasks at the breakfast counter would certainly be more practical than individually brought in cups from the kitchen; the quality of the cheese and sausage could be better, especially the slices should stick together less; freshly squeezed orange juice would be delicious and timely replenishment of the selection would be desirable. The dishes in the evening were good, but unfortunately only lukewarm

We had such a great stay here! The staff are so sweet and welcoming, and the amenities are fantastic given the price. The location is good- close enough to be able to walk to most places comfortably, but in a quiet corner of downtown. I would note that the entire city is very hilly, so if you're planning to walk to Ribeira, Vila Nova de Gaia, or the areas surrounding Livraria Lello, it's a fairly steep uphill climb back up to the hotel.

Hotel was very central. Upon arrival we were greeted with a glass of Port and very friendly staff. We were given a map of Porto and lots of advice on where to visit for our 3 day stay. The room was clean and spacious and they did give us our upgraded room as requested..I had booked a twin but requested a double! Breakfast was ample with a freshly cooked option each morning upon request. Plenty of options and staff were very attentive. We were very impressed with recommendations given by the staff for places to eat and they were spot on with their advice on dos and donts. Overall we had a great stay and would highly recommend this hotel.
