Hotels near Le Gouvernail de la Corse, Bonifacio

Arrived by ferry from Santa Teresa Gallura and were easily able to wheel our suitcases along the flat path to this brilliantly positioned Best Western Roy D’Aragon. We were a little early for check in but were able to log into their wifi and make calls home to family in Australia (timing important due to time difference) while we waited. Fortunately our top floor port and Citadel facing balcony room was ready well before 4pm checkin time. Receptionist was most pleasant and made sure to get us in our beautiful room as soon as possible. The bed was comfortable but room itself very compact. Not a huge problem as we only stayed 2 nights. However the balcony added to the feel of the space and we made sure to make the most of the superb view by sitting out there as often as possible. We enjoyed our breakfast on balcony with excellent coffee from Hotel’s barista and fresh baguette and pastries from nearby bakery. We also bought provisions for a dinner with that view - quiches and wine from nearby supermarket. It truly is the best view in beautiful Bonifacio - morning, sunset and after dark - when the buildings and restaurants are all lit up. Magical. Absolutely loved this hotel and town. Make sure to walk up to top of castle/citadel for incredible views of Bonifacio and the pristine sea and rocks to other side. There’s also a whole other village up there! Loved our stay at this great hotel but make sure to book the port and citadel facing room with balcony if possible. Well worth it!

We stayed one night my husband and I in a very well decorated large room with Clim, TV, refrigerator, a large shower with all the necessary to toilet + another night with our children in a beautiful villa of 6 people, We took the breakfasts on site as well as the lunch meals that were excellent, the map is varied, the prices are affordable, the restaurant team is very sympathetic and advenant à l'écoute des clients as well as the monsieur à l' The hotel is very dynamic and very helpful, and it has several beautiful swimming pools and a jacuzzi, a large free parking, and is located just a step from the beach.

A boutique hotel with great service and everything works! We were nervous about booking here as we have had so many disappointing “ boutique “ hotel stays. It’s very new and in immaculate condition in a truly unique setting. Really cant recommend enough. Only negative is the taxi drivers charge you 50 euros each way to get into Bonifacio.
