Quirky overnight family stay in the Yard Run after New Year. Room contained a microwave, small bar fridge and kettle - enough for basic needs. The room was very comfortable, however we could hear the person in the adjoining room as there were lots of gaps in the ceiling / roof. Not so much of an issue for us, however our children possibly disturbed the other guest (despite our attempts to keep them as quiet as possible during our stay). The grounds are wonderful to explore, and the resident animals are a joy (however beware the cow horns!). The babbling stream running through the property was lovely, however we didn't manage to see the platypus. The owner was a wonderful guide and regaled us with stories of the history of the place. It was a lovely, peaceful stay in the highlands. Remember to take all the food you will need, as there are very few shops in the area!

We had the best weekend. Golf for the boys and plenty of reading time on the homestead verandah for the golfing wives. The meals were spot on and the knowledge of the homestead history and the bothwell area was great. I had the pleasure of sitting with a lovely lady named Judy (who is a ratho regular) at dinner and it was an absolute pleasure to listen to her family history and connections to ratho. Accommodation was spot on. We will definitely return. Thanks to Greg for the hospitality.

A wonderful place that seems to have forgotten we are in 2024. A unique working farm, BnB style accommodation, wedding venue, holiday stop it could really be anything you would like it to be for your trip. The Rstho family are exactly that, they invite you into their home and make you feel like you live there. The hospitality and relaxed make your own approach makes this absolutely beautiful location a must. All of the accommodation has been respectfully restored to keep the old and historic feel but with all the modern amenities. The golf course is a tricky one but worth a hit and the not to mention the resident platypus in the river Clyde, the random wombat that strolls through the cottages to wherever he is going. The grazing sheep and cattle. This place is just magical. We stayed 4 nights at Ratho for pur wedding. We booked everything online as we are from Central Queensland, the place doe not disappoint. Perfect for families, couples, groups of friends you name it the wonderful group will make your trip 💙

We had a beautiful stay at Ratho farm! We stayed in Convict Cottages which was a wonderful experience. We wanted for nothing and the heated floors were a bonus in winter. The sound of the Clyde River and rain on a tin roof were wonderful. We loved watching peacocks and deers running on the golf course. The owner Greg gave a lovely recollection of his family history with the property back to the first land owners! Our stay was complete with tasty home cooked meals and bubbles and red wine beside the fire 🔥

A unique place full of charm and history. Our cottage was well designed to retain its character with all the modern requirements. The meals were excellent and our host Michael was outstanding and entertaining.

A beautiful setting and a very relaxed environment. The dinner was very nice and sitting with other guests provided an enjoyable night of sharing travel stories. The rooms were clean and comfortable and as we had sunny weather we enjoyed being outside sitting near the creek running through the property.

Accomodation was rustic but excellent. We took a fully filled group of car enthusiastists and they looked adter us extremely well.Nice nibbles and good basic roast at very reasonable price. Next a BBQ done by manager rather than a bun fight worked well and again reasonable quality and good price particularly given location and staffing isdues. Would recomend and go again Grahame

Genuinely incredible experience : the meal and actual accommodation (stayed just the one night) were both excellent but that's not what sets Ratho Farm apart. The verbal 'walk' through the history of the farm prior to dinner - given enthusiastically by owner Greg Ramsey - was unique (for me at least). I reckon the bloke has given that talk a thousand times but makes it sound like he's telling it for the first time. I was with a friend this time but even if I'd been flying solo you'd instantly feel part of the group. As for the golf the next day ... well, the Ratho Farm course is something else. The oldest golf track in Australia, it's also the 'weirdest' - and I say that with great affection. Ratho Farm owes me about 10 balls but given I found as many, I'd say we're all square. Seriously, if you love your golf and you're up for a bit of fun, Ratho Farm is the place to be.
