I made the mistake of staying at an inferior Motel my first night as I was attending a Conference at the Chateau Elan. I quickly re-booked for the next night, and I was extremely lucky that they had one room left. I spoke with Nancy at the front desk the morning and she confirmed my reservation and said that the room should be ready around 1:00, but for me to come over and enjoy some breakfast while I wait. I showed up about 9:30- 9:45 and met Nancy and thanked her for her warm hospitality. She said that some of the House Keeping crew had already arrived and had started prepping my room. She pointed me towards the breakfast area and assured me that she will come find me when the room is ready. Within 30 minutes, my room was ready. This was incredible! Next, my business partner was soon to be arriving with his daughter. I advised him to call ahead and see if there were any rooms. Unfortunately, there were no rooms available. I told my partner to come to my room and we will wait and see if there are any cancelations. I walked downstairs and ask Nancy if there were any cancellations. She said no, but there may be a room being held by the manager. I asked her to please inquire to see if this could be an option for my partner and his daughter. 15 minutes later, Nancy phoned my room to say they had a room ready for them. This was amazing and Nancy was our STAR of the weekend. Her professionalism in Hospitably made these traveler's feel welcome and at home. The industry needs more "Nancy's"!!
