Amazing place, incredible value. I have no doubts the prices will rise so go there now if you get a chance.

I was disappointed with the dining options as the 'Garden Cafe' was also the 'Bar' and what was offered was very limited.

It really will be lovely when the new owners spend some money on if…. The staff were lovely but to not even have a bottle of white wine on offer was not good. The café seems more geared up for the Spa/Club. We were ‘upgraded to one of the rooms in the manor itself but I’m not sure this was actually an upgrade as it was quite ‘noisy’ not in a group of people way but in a ‘needs carpets & soft furnishings’ way as you could hear people walking around & talking. At one point we were trying to work out whose phone was ringing then realised it wasn’t in our room. The Manor House is clearly geared up for just weddings at this point. It’s a shame but we now realise why the pricing was such. Needs, at the very least, a bar that sells more than cans of drinks and mini bottles of wine. Almost but not quite for us.

Arrived around 8pm charming lady on reception told us how things worked , then shown us to our room , a stunningly large and welcoming room with more than adequate bathroom , at this point I felt the hotel deserved 5 stars Had a great nights sleep , the breakfast , first little information no menu , had to ask if cooked breakfast was available, wish we hadn’t over cooked bacon, cheap sausages something that resembled scrambled eggs , soft hash browns and some baked beans. The hotel should stop cooked breakfast and concrete on their continental which was ok but add a bit and it would be good Went out to Longleat, had great day came back room had not been serviced , bed not made room not cleaned , towels in floor still on floor Went down to cafe , told no food , so got a muffin , biscuits and drinks , so glad I decided to bring my own pot noodles or we would have starved The hotel it self could be a little gem , but lacks love in the catering department and obviously staff in the housekeeping dept So what was a 5 ended up a 3 and I would only want to return if catering improves

Beautiful peaceful location. My room was stunning, very spacious with lovely wooden floors. Thick heavyweight white towels which made it feel luxurious and quality products to wash with. I booked this last minute and was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this place. I also took the opportunity to use the pool steam room and sauna, which were equally lovely . I would definitely stay here again for a peaceful and relaxing stay .

Not the spa day we expected and paid for . Was left at reception for 10-15 mins whilst sue dealt with a delivery of tarmac. Don’t expect guests to wait when no other staff are available . Sue did come and apologise went out of her way to find us . The treatments were nice and relaxing . Jess and Jamie were Amazing ladies such friendly and bubbly . Over priced for what you got . For the type of establishment just shabby , run down, tired and staff a lot of them just rude and ignored you unless you were a club member . For what you pay they need to do a lot of work. Afternoon tea disappointing , felt like it was thrown on a plate , no organisation had to wait in the cafe to be served one person called Charmaine who all she done was cough , no one serving . Lack of cake choices and not many, sandwich fillings just 2 and scones didn’t look homemade . Wouldn’t return for those reasons, and staff at reception not bothered there is other establishments I can spend my money at . Such a let down for a special birthday …..

I’m not really sure why this hasn’t got atleast 4 stars. When we arrived the setting just instantly made me fall in love. An absolutely beautiful manor with lovely surroundings. We arrived late as we got a little lost but the staff were so helpful. We were greeted by Sue on the spa reception, she honestly was so lovely and helpful, couldn’t have asked for better customer service. She went out of her way to make sure we were happy. We went into the cafe there, and Charmaine was again super helpful and lovely. We then went up to our rooms, which I have to say were just stunning, beautiful oak flooring and a comfy bed. The shower was a power shower and very hot. The tv was large and the view was beautiful. Couldn’t have been happier. In the morning I went to the gym, which had everything you need! Just as good as my gym at home. We then went down to breakfast and was greeted by Charmaine, she again went out of her way to make sure we were happy. She was also very comforting in a time that was needed for my Mum. Honestly the hotel is worth every penny, not only for the beauty of the place but the incredible staff. Thankyou so much! We will definitely be back!

Not for a Spa Day! Booked a 3 hour afternoon escape and left after 90 minutes. Firstly treatment was GREAT, Katie was a great therapist and I enjoyed my 25 minute massage which was part of the package and my relax afterwards in the four seat lounge area in the Hayloft. After that all downhill, there is simply NO WHERE to sit or relax and enjoy the remaining hours apart from in the cafe on a wooden chair (unless you get lucky enough to have one of the two small sofas). No further area to relax read a book unwind, just plastic chairs around what can only be described as aged pool. In he summer the garden is sweet and I noted 4 wooden loungers but this is England so you would have to be lucky! Somerset Afternoon tea was also included in my package, described on Spa site I booked through as dainty sandwiches cakes and hot drink. The lady working the cafe had no idea what I was supposed to get as my package and so what I got were two dry fruit scones … total experience only lasted 90 mins,,, glad I didn’t invest in full day!,

We stayed in a garden room for a family wedding, and having read some reviews before we went, we were a bit concerned. However when we arrived we were greeted and taken to our room by a very friendly member of staff. Our room was clean, and we even had a little kitchenette which we hadn’t expected. Although we only stayed two days our room was serviced, and we had clean sheets and towels provided on day two. The garden rooms do need modernising, but having said that, we think that this is reflected in the room pricing. The hotel cafe is very nice, we sat and chatted with family for as long as we liked and the staff were very good. We didn’t use the spa facilities. Our only slight criticism would be that the breakfast was rather chaotic, we had to ask for bread, and butter, and the only place to plug the two (!) slice toaster in was in a socket which meant that the toaster sat on the floor. Having said that, the staff more than made up for this as they were all clearly doing their best and couldn’t do enough for us. Thanks for a lovely two days.
