This is a very tired and run down place. There was no where else to stay so we had no choice. At almost $200.00, it should be much better. It smelled and we were not comfortable here. It was better than the car I guess. I hope travellers read reviews or have a choice in the area.

I was down in Annapolis-Royal and the only places to stay were B&B's and large inns. I'm used to motels/motor inns. I had to drive all the way back to Bridgetown, but I found what I liked and this place wasn't as bad as some of the reviews it got. It's clean, has AC, flat TV, microwave and it was reasonably priced. There is absolutely nothing to do in this town so it's just a good place to stay before moving on.

No one answered when I tried to book a room. On arrival at the motel, no-one was there and we had to wait. The flight of stairs to the upper level were VERY steep. The bedspread had stains all over it. The pillow was filled with small pieces of foam and not comfortable. The mattress was old and cheap. In the morning when entering the breakfast room, we had to walk past three staff members sitting at the picnic benches all smoking cigarettes. Not a motel I would recommend.

I should have read previous reviews. I wouldn't give this place one star but had to to allow it to post! Traveled down the end of February from Ontario to celebrate my mothers 100 th birthday. Had pre booked for 5 nights. Checked in . The office area was a mess. I should have figured what was coming. Shown to our room. Cold, damp and dingy. Water took ages to get hot and beds looked slept in. Spent 20 minutes there tired and weary ! Had just driven from Halifax airport! Packed up and went to the office to cancel only to be told I hadn't given 72 hours notice so had to pay the full shot. The woman owner already had my Visa. Said she would knock off one night which she didn’t upon receiving my Visa Statement. I was billed $685.40 then $171.35 on another line. Over $800 for a 20 min stay. Im waiting to see if Visa can help me but I doubt it. Im still fuming 2 months later. Moved on to Annapolis Royal Inn. A beautiful and caring lodging.

We booked online, we were not put in the room number we booked. Booking site said check in was at 2pm. We arrived at 1:45 and were told it was at 3. We had a whale watching tour booked for later and would have to leave no later than 2:30 to make the two ferries on route. We were told that early check in was "an absolute no, it throws the girls game off." When we checked out at the end of our stay , approximately 9:30 am, the gentleman in front of me was checking in...??? WiFi may have been free but not accessible from our room or the rooms in our area. Photos on some booking sites are outdated, there is no pool. Entered the room and it was freezing cold with the air con on full. Got to the middle of the room and it was quite nice with an odd breeze. Got to the back of the room and started to sweat as the heat was on full...what's that all about? Fussed about and managed a reasonable sleeping temperature after about an hour to hour and a half. The floor was painted cement and the paint was peeling. Had to pick the paint flecks off our feet before getting into bed. Toilet did not work properly, back had to be taken off and fussed with to adequately flush and it ran constantly. Last morning there a knock on the door shortly before 9am "maintenance!", I opened the door, "Oh sorry, thought this room was empty." I guess I'm glad he knocked just in case. I don't quite get the positive reviews for the breakfast. Cold boiled egg, uncovered baked goods, cubes of marble cheese some sliced oranges, strawberries and blueberries...flies buzzing around and landing on the whole thing. Went with the prepackaged items, yogurt, cereal bar etc. May have had a bowl of cereal but no milk. Coffee was always "coming" but I never got a cup. The blueberries did look plump and ripe but the flies just kind of put me off. My gut feeling is that the facility is in flux, just not quite sure it's headed in a better or worse direction. Your experience will definitely be different depending on which area your room is in and which staff personalities you encounter. We did not get their best of either.

My husband and I arrived in Nova Scotia on 10th July 2023 and made our way to begin a four day stay at the Bridgetown Motor Inn, as it was near to family members (unfortunately I had not checked previous reviews) On our arrival at the Inn at approx 6pm our room was not ready and the proprietor informed us that there was someone in the room we would be going into but she would "move him", we were also given a key to the room and told which area the room was in. The proprietor then proceeded to give us "the lecture" which related to various issues around electric switches in the room and TV which we shouldn't touch, as it would cause issues with Cabling TV. As you can imagine it was not easy to understand what she meant when we could not see the switches in front of us. We were then advised if we needed dinner we should go to a local restaurant (directions given) immediately as they would be closing at about 6.30pm. The restaurant (The Crow's Nest )was as recommended very nice and food excellent. When we returned to the Motor Inn the desk was closed and the only sign we had of other life was the proprietor with a gentleman in the building we had originally come to . The area around the motel was dark and we had some difficulty finding our room. When we entered our room we were appalled by it's condition: The initial concerns were electric wiring overload, obviously a fire hazard. The toilet in the bathroom was filthy with actual human waste. However on calling the proprietor , another lady came to the room and cleaned the toilets. Since I felt that the two beds in the room looked a bit unkempt, I remarked to the cleaner that I presumed that the beds had been changed, she assured me that they had. We did not have any drinking glasses in the room or adequate towels but these were replenished when we requested them. At about 10.30 pm I turned back the beds and on checking the sheets noticed stains on both bottom sheets, one was particularly disgusting! We were appalled and immediately went over to see the proprietor ( who was very disgruntled at being disturbed. She denied categorically that the sheets were as I indicated, she said she would send the cleaner over. I invited her to come over and see for herself, if she didn't believe what I was telling her. She then became very abusive using foul language, telling us we needed to get out. I calmly responded and said we would if our money was refunded. She then spoke to the man inside and came our and proceeded to refund our money. To be fair each of the requests we made for inadequate services were addressed. But I really wanted to warn visitors about this establishment , it really doesn't warrant the one star I grudgingly gave it.

My review: The room a friend and I were assigned looked nothing like the photos on the website. We paid a very generous amount to stay in a room that was not as advertised. The accommodations, as they were shown online, were updated, clean, bright and comfortable. The accommodations in real life were nothing like the photos. Feels like false advertising. Very disappointing.

We loved the Bridgetown Motor Inn. It is a little quirky but clean, comfortable, quiet and friendly. It's in a lovely small town so you can walk to parks, the local café and some nice shops. We stayed there for a week while visiting family in the area and especially enjoyed the breakfasts. (I usually never go to breakfast in motels but this one was special.) The local senior men's coffee club meets there every morning and they add a very convivial touch to the experience. The dining room is also pleasant and looks out over a nice garden. I believe some of the breakfast food is actually brought in for the coffee club but shared with motel guests--over the week we had delicious home-made squares and mini quiches as well as eggs. However, if you don't want these additions to the menu, there are also packaged cereals and yogourts, fruit, etc., which is all you get in most inexpensive motels. The manager was very kind and helpful. Thank you for a most enjoyable week!

I was looking for a place to sleep overnight to attend a nearby meeting in the morning. I wasn’t looking for anything fancy, just something with breakfast and close to my meeting place. NOTHING about this stay was ok. 1. Check-in: arrived at 6:30 pm to find a note on the front door to call a number because the front desk staff were not there. Walked away to get my phone to call the number when a lady - presumably the owner? - opened the door and invited me in. She was pleasant, but a bit odd and quirky in ways that made me uncomfortable. But, no big deal, everyone has their own style. 2. The room: clean, sort of. There were dust bunnies on the floor, cobwebs on the bedside light, and a mixture of cobwebs & dust that adhered to my sock as I walked around. -overall it is a dated room but that’s ok, no qualms about that -the TV is tiny and high up on the wall so not the easiest to watch from bed or from the available chairs/sitting area. And it was analog only, no guide. -it was quiet and the bed was nice to sleep in 3. Bathroom/sink area: the towel bar fell down when I went to take a hand towel off of it to use, depositing ALL of the available towels on the questionably clean floor. -NO hair dryer available (even basic hotels/motels usually have this) - I have long hair so I wasn’t able to dry it before heading out to start my day -shower/tub dated but, again, that’s ok - I prefer baths but the tub was too shallow (again, that’s not why I’ve rated this property so low) 4. Breakfast: a continental breakfast was included in the price. I headed over at 8:30 a.m. to get something not expecting a spread like some of the more modern chain hotels offer. -when I walked into the dining area from the courtyard door, the floor was LITTERED with debris and dog toys, and a border collie puppy was running around THROUGH the dining room, free range of the entire area. I love dogs, but not when I’m trying to eat & get off to a meeting! The dog was all over me and I had trouble getting him off me to preserve my clean clothes for my meeting. -the actual breakfast: there were ?hard-boiled eggs out, not on anything to keep them cool. In fact, I saw the same eggs out there when I checked in (!!!). No way was I going to attempt one of those. There were basic breakfast cereals and donuts/sweets, some apples, some mixed yogurts, all ok-ish. I asked for decaf coffee and they had none and the lady who checked me in was going to send someone down the road to get some from the store. At that point, I explained that I didn’t have that much time and decided against any breakfast given the questionable cleanliness and food sitting out that should be on ice or refrigerated. Overall, if it was just that the motel was dated I’d have given it very high ratings. But the cleanliness, the towel bar collapsing, the dog in the dining room, and the strange front desk person together left me very, very underwhelmed and eager to leave asap.
