I have always thought that hotels in Switzerland are very expensive, especially during the summer European travel season. This time I went to visit Interlaken and chose this hotel in the small town of Lake Brienz. Overall, it is still cost-effective. of. facility: On the mountain in the town of Brienz, there are complete facilities, including an indoor swimming pool, dry steam and sauna. The hotel has its own terrace restaurant with a very good view, but the Indian food is average. health: Maybe it's because of the good ecology. There are insects and moths in the cabin, but everything else is fine. environment: Very good. I booked a family loft this time. You can only see the mountain view on the back mountain side. If it is a standard room with a lake view, you should be able to see the lake view. Serve: There is a shuttle bus to pick up and drop off from the train station, which is very good. Otherwise, going up and down the mountain with luggage will definitely be a big problem. In the future, it can be used as a transit when going to Switzerland to visit Interlaken and Lucerne, if the price continues to remain advantageous.

This hotel needs a serious upgrade. We stayed in the main house. Whenever guests and staff walked past my room the wood floor planks shook my bed. Bathroom smelled mouldy, shower only had a curtain around and only one small bottle of water for your whole stay. However, although breakfast was basic (excellent croissants!) food in general was good, and the service very friendly. Nice, high-up view over the lake. Will I stay here again? Probably not.

Brienz is a beautiful town and the hotel has a great view of the lake. Breakfast was lovely and the rooms had a swiss chalet feel to them. It is about a 10-15 mins walk to the shops/resturants/ train station which is fine on the way down but very steep when travelling up to the hotel. We were ok but this would be difficult for people with mobility issues.

We have stayed for one night in the hotel. Room was reasonable. Good for one night. View is very nice. Price is a bit expensive for the room though. Coming to Interlaken area, we were expecting to have a Swiss experience. As it was raining and late, we decided to have dinner at the restaurant there. Sitting at the table and seeing some chopstick, we were already disappointed. Looking at the menu, most of the dishes were Asian and few items were European and very little choices for Swiss food. The kids menu were very small and my girls decided to go for noodle with butter, I have asked if it is possible to serve some tomato sauce but only ketchup was available. We went for Schnitzel as we thought it was a safe choice. Waiters are all Indian and most of them couldn’t speak German (which is the language in the region). Very surprising as we were waiting for a full Swiss experience. Food arrived, the noodles were the most disgusting pasta dishes we have ever eaten. The taste, the look, we dont know if the noodles were expired or the butter. We have complained and they told us the noodles were egg based (which I really doubt). Our schnitzel were not the typical ones and very dry with a Knorr sauce.

My recent stay at this hotel in Switzerland was a terrible experience, to say the least. Entering the hotel with my wife and baby, we encountered several downs that left us in dismay. Upon arrival, the receptionist, who happened to be Indian, informed us that our room wasn't ready for check-in. He kindly suggested leaving our baggage at the counter and advised us to enjoy a drink at the outdoor restaurant, which, as we found out, only opened at 5 pm. This was slightly inconvenient as we were famished after our journey. Heading to the restaurant with a drink in hand, we were met by an Indian male staff member who impolitely told us, "We're closed!" It was puzzling to see other guests already seated and enjoying drinks, seemingly unaffected by the restaurant's closure. It left us wondering if policies applied differently to us and if being Indian had something to do with it. Despite feeling slighted, I chose not to confront the impolite staff member and headed back to the reception to clarify the situation. To our surprise, the receptionist confirmed that we were indeed allowed to be seated at the restaurant, even during its supposed closure. It was at this point that we were informed that our rooms were ready for check-in. With our lunch plans delayed, I asked if they could hold our luggage while we grabbed a quick meal at a nearby café. I must also mention I was with my wife and 4 months old baby. However, to our disappointment, the receptionist refused, stating that once the rooms were ready, luggage couldn't be left at the counter. The initial delay in room readiness and the sudden urgency to move our luggage left us questioning if we were guests or refugees. It seemed as though the staff prioritized policies over guest comfort. Upon entering our room, we noticed it was filled with unnecessary and potentially dangerous furniture, particularly for kids. Staffs have been trained to warn about the fines and penalties rather than the facilities or services they offer. Could be as they have no such things.

I visited Switzerland in October this year , and was in Lake Brienz for 5N/6D itinerary ; During my stay we explored the entire Interlaken area, but this review is only for Hotel Lindenhof ; We booked this hotel based on Online Photos by visitors and reviews therefore I would like to add my views for future travelers - for everyone's benefit ! Pros and cons are as follows - 1. This hotel gets full marks for it's location - just picturesque !! The photos that you probably see in the Net are true , and once you are there maybe you'll like it more 2. Rooms are tidy and neat - most of the rooms are Lake facing , which means you can enjoy the views from you room - for extra mullah of course , Otherwise you have to go out and sit in the attached Cafeteria , or Outside - but that's not possible in Autumn or Winter , it's too cold outside ; So choose the rooms depending on the weather . Rooms with Balcony are approximately 240 CHF per night for a double bed, including breakfast. 3. Service staff are helpful , in general , though , if you are coming from India like we did then make sure you discuss your plans clearly in the reception - usually some young girls are there , but all are helpful nonetheless. If you have special requirements like Wheel Chairs then discuss with the before booking - remember this hotel is on a small hill top and on the slope , you can't walk up to the Hotel , they will need to pick you up from the station . And drop you back again to the station for your day trips - so this is a critical point , and creates a dependency on the Hotel. However these pick-ups and drops are free of charge - at least they didn't charge us so that's good !! 4. And there is the Achilles's' heel !! the pick-up and drop are not always well coordinated , sometimes you have to wait long for your pickup ; There are couple of occasions where they missed the pick-up and we had difficulty calling them in local Swiss Number - maybe issue with Phone lines , but when you're on a trip to a foreign country , help is not easily available all the time specially in Lake Brienz , where the town gets empty by sundown . 5. The Breakfast is same every day and monotonous - there's not much variety is Swiss Food , unless you are someone that can eat Fondue each day !! The restaurant has lots of Asian Menu , and 3 Indian Menu - Dal Makhni , Butter Chicken , Naan , and one more that I forget - Preparation is Ok types , but I don't expect Top Grade Indian Food in Switzerland - however their Asian menus (Chinese and Japanese) are really good - the Prawn Fried Rice is worth trying ; Price of food is always on the higher side everywhere in Switzerland - in this hotel average cost of a dish is around 22-25 CHF ; For two persons its average 60 CHF- if you want to eat Hot Food at Dinner - then this in-house Cafeteria is the Only Option - all other eateries are miles away , best is to eat in Interlaken maybe if you're there - Or anywhere , and then come to Hotel for rest

We stayed 3 nights, had one of the suites (birds nest) with a hot tub on the balcony. Panoramic view of the lake, beds were very comfortable and the room had plenty of space. Seen a few reviews saying hotel is dated. However we loved the rustic authentic feel and is exactly why we booked here. We were not dissapointed. Amazing views and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice and also scenic views from the table. The onsite restaurant serves great food also, maybe a little overpriced but very nice food. Overall an amazing stay and we really enjoyed it.

We arrived quite late into Brienz and the hotel was kind enough to pick us up from the train station. I didn’t catch her name but she was really lovely, very friendly and welcoming. Our room was beautiful, they arranged flowers and chocolates on the bed at special request for my birthday. The views over the lake are incredible, well worth the trip just for the location. The room we had was very clean and replenished daily. The rooms don’t have air conditioning so it could get pretty warm but we had a fan provided which was sufficient enough. Hotel in general was very clean, well presented and the prices for drinks quite reasonable. The staff are also friendly and approachable, they even gave us chocolates as a parting gift for staying with them. Breakfast was included in our stay, it was continental and the restaurant was quaint with stunning views over lake Brienz. The location is perfect for exploring Brienz with the train station a short walk down the hill. There was also a co-op near the station to stock up on snacks and drinks for the day. Brienz rothorn bahn is also within walking distance, along with the ferry port which is directly next to the train station if you choose to travel by boat. The ferry is every 2 hours, trains every 15 mins or so. You can also hire a boat on the lake which is a must do! I will most definitely stay here again. Wonderful hotel in perfect location.

Units 41 to 46 and especially 42 are horrendously outdated and worn out for the price being asked of them at 200€ a night. See pics. We were deeply disappointed and voice that to the front desk, only to receive a portable fan in return (no A/C in the unit). Overall the hotel seemed nice and the restaurant was very nice. Just stay away from that block of rooms. Hotel management have decided to market these units as "boutique" which we found quite appalling and misleading

What a fantastic stay. The view from our room was breathtaking. We had a room with a balcony and hot pot tub. The room was huge. The shower had a waterfall feature. The bathroom is on a higher level which looks down onto the bedroom, this had a window for a walk. The bed was very very comfortable. It also rotated so that you could wake up to the view of lake Brienz. The breakfast is tasty, mainly continental with an option of scrambled or hard boiled eggs. There is limited places to eat in Brienz, we tried a late night Italian restaurant called Pizzeria Armoa. Would highly recommend if you like pizza. The hotel is at the top of a very steep hill which is tough with luggage. When we arrived at the hotel the staff mentioned that they have a complimentary shuttle service which can take you to and from the hotel - would recommend using this.
