The hotel is about 2 miles from the city centre and offers free parking (unlike many central hotels, which charge £10-15 overnight). I waited over 10 minutes for someone to arrive at reception to check me in- the lovely lady from the bar noticed me waiting and tried to radio someone. When they finally appeared there was no apology but a brisk check in, no mention of breakfast or amenities. The hotel overall is quite an attractive historic building but the rooms are rather run down. Mine had a radiator with screws pulled out of the wall, very squeaky floor boards and very uneven lino in the bathroom. The room was overly warm but not coming from the radiators, so not possible to turn down. Unfortunately there were noisy roadworks outside during the night- no fault of the hotel - but it would have been nice to have put guests away from the area while they are taking place if possible. I stay in Bristol regularly and will not be staying here again, it was overpriced for what it was.

We had the loveliest time here the staff were so lovely and friendly. It was about a 30 minute walk into town and if you are travelling into town at rush hour walking is the best way as the traffic was pretty bad. The room we stayed in was beautiful and clean and tidy and we were blown away by the service from the staff it really was lovely infact I was shocked to find they were part of a group and not independent as it felt the kind of service you would get from an independent. The bar and restaurants were lovely and the building was so beautiful inside and out we had a really lovely stay toiletries were provided and they smelt beautiful. thanks so much we had a lovely time.

The room is large, clean and tidy, but not very soundproof. The bathroom and toilet are separated. The parking lot is also very large. No worries about parking. Breakfast is 6 pounds per person. It is cost-effective. The 24-hour front desk service is very good.

This hotel is very much dated and needs a good make over, I have stayed in much better properties and at cheaper rates. Breakfast was help yourself and served up until 10am but had to wait 20 minutes for warm food to be put out. Very disappointing stay for £145, not worth it

Stayed here for a friend’s wedding ceremony and couldn’t believe how worn out and old everything is, if it wasn’t for the wedding I would have left straight away. The room is totally warm out and dated with old wooden furniture the bathroom is aged 30 to 40 years old with loose and dripping taps. The whole of the hotel looks old and warm out with no money spent on anything, even looks dirty , I can honestly say this hotel is the worst i have ever stayed in and I have travelled the world and just can’t believe it, my wife just laughed and said it was like staying at faulty towers and it was shocking, I have stayed in better squats when I was in my younger days. Probably ok for cheap digs for workers but not for £180.00 per night. The breakfast was ok buffet but I would never stay here or recommend it.

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst attending training. Really run-down and shabby. Unpleasant odours in every part of hotel. No hand towel in ensuite bathroom. Stains on bedroom chair fabric. Shower curtain too small. Hot plates for cold sandwiches and coleslaw but cold bowls for hot chips! Not the worst hotel I've ever stayed in but almost!

Please don't go if you're a group. The evening meals were dreadful. The food was generally cold and a very limited selection. Desserts were always some sort of cake, fruit salad and a tub if ice cream. I had to call maintenance to open my bathroom door the first morning. They came quickly but when I left 4 days later, the door still hadn't been repaired.
