Botany Bay Hotel

Had a lovely stay at the Botany Bay hotel,superior sea view room was amazing the staff were friendly the room was clean, Food from the restaurant was very nice, will definitely be booking here again in the future

Great food and bar, excellent location very close to the beach and surfing at Joss Bay.

Have eaten at this hotel many times and it has been brilliant. Sadly today was not one of those days. I know it was a bank holiday but the wait for food was ridiculous. When the main meal finally arrived it was over cooked and dry. Having raved about the place I took my family for a long awaited get together, it was so disappointing and very expensive. Don't think I will be eating there again for a long time.

So disappointed with our visit today. We have been many times and the Botany Bay has usually been ok but today it was incredibly below average. The food was ok but the service was appalling and our table of 11 was completely forgotten. We had to ask for things a number of times but the very young staff didn’t seem to have any training or inclination that they were there to provide a service. Our main course plates were sat on the table for ages in spite of requests for them to be cleared and the room we were in was full of flies so it became really unpleasant. We didn’t stay for dessert mainly because in the time we were there not one person came to check on us and see if there was anything was needed or that everything was ok, we all decided that it really wasn’t worth the time or the bother. This was a family event that was incredibly marred by a dreadful venue. We will not be going back!

Highly recommend for any type of getaway, whether romantic or family! The hotel itself is very welcoming, food is incredible and the staff are fab. The location is just perfect, the beautiful sandy beach is within minutes from the hotel but also have shopping centre nearby to scratch that itch!! Will definitely be returning for another staycation as it’s the perfect place to unwind. Thank you for having us

Such a great hotel, either for couples or family getaways. We had a large group and our stays were amazing. Great food, lovely rooms, amazing staff and facilities. With such a beautiful beach just down some steps next to the hotel, it really was an amazing location. Close to some towns although with such a great beach, you may want to stay there all day like we did! The menu had a big variety and all the dishes we tried were top tier. The staff made us feel welcome and always very helpful. We will definitely be returning in the future to have another fun packed adventure for the family Thank you for having us!

Amazing hotel - wonderful views from the seaview room and from the bar / restaurant. The room was comfortable with nice little touches. Staff are incredibly friendly and the food is amazing. Easy parking and great walks along the beach and coast path.

We had a 3 night stay in the hotel in a twin bed room. All the hotel and bar staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The bar and dining areas were busy as it was the last weekend of the school holidays. We attended a lunchtime event in the guests dining room. The bedroom had a partial view of the sea and was kept clean each day. There was plenty of room for 2 of us however there was a significant lack of available power points. The kettle, coffee machine, air cooler and mobile phones were all competing for 1 socket. I would have liked the option for a brighter bed side light for reading while in bed. In the large ensuite bathroom I would like to suggest for a greater customer experience that additional rails, either free standing or wall mounted, be provided, adjacent to the basin and bath so that towels have a chance to dry after use. Shelving for wash bags and hooks for hanging clean clothes would be a bonus. There was always plenty of hot water. We appreciated the hotel working towards reducing their use of plastic by providing flasks of cold milk and also in advising that towels would be washed as required rather than automatically on a daily basis. Breakfasts were very good with plenty of choice and the 1 evening main meal was delicious. The vegetarian options were very limited on that evening though. It was a pleasant stay for a weekend by the sea. Thank you

The room was well decorated and very clean. The only thing missing were comfortable chairs! We had two wicker and a hard wood chair. In fact I could not find a comfortable chair in any public area either! I wonder why, keen on posture? Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice including fresh fruit. The smoked salmon and scrabbled egg demands a special mention together with the full English. Restaurant food was equally good. The staff are cheerful and engaging.
