In July ‘24 I booked, directly with Balmer Lawn, a double room for Dec for us as a Christmas treat. I paid a £80 deposit. I have been contacted by them to say the booking can’t be upheld as they are fully booked. I struggle to believe that in July the hotel was fully booked for Dec. And if so, why has it taken four months to inform me of this? One wonders if our room has been resold at Christmas prices. A horrible thing to do to people and their Christmas plans. Balmer Lawn “pride themselves on great service”. Hmmmm. This doesn’t feel great! I was offered the chance to book alternative dates but we have little confidence in entrusting our Christmas celebrations with Balmer Lawn. We have booked a hotel down the road from them.
