Good points: Reasonable location, better breakfast. Concern points : aged and noisy environment. Recommend to anyone who wants to experience the old movies’ atmosphere.

Lovely people, nice and clean hotel. Our room was in the first floor and noisy, that was the only con of the hotel. Beautifully decorated and nice breakfast. They said that they didn’t have any alternative milk the first morning for breakfast, but they had it for the second day. Good service.

I have stayed here many times. It is a very unique hotel and the ancient elevator experience is great. Taking the stairs is also a passage for art exhibitions.

Really gorgeous hotel. Modern but with lots of old world period features. We visited during the heatwave in June (35°+) so the air conditioning was a must, however not as strong we'd have liked it. Good location with plenty of shops and restaurants near by. The hotel staff are friendly and very accommodating. Hotel was clean throughout and facilities well maintained. Highly recommend this place!

Gorgeous hotel, beautiful mix of old and new. Rooms were comfy, bathrooms were well equipped and there were so many useful bits in the bathroom just like an old school hotel. Would also recommend their restaurant for delicious pasta. Staff were friendly too.

Would have been 5 out of 5 but the rude and unhelpful staff particularly in the breakfast room lost out on a star. The hotel is beautifully and uniquely decorated in a boutique 1930's style . Every wall is covered in oil paintings and works of art and every surface has collections of clocks , telephones etc. The amazing "sailing ship " chandeliers in the public areas are a joy to be hold. The hotel is spotlessly clean . Check in was very easy and the receptionist was the only friendly member of staff we encountered . The original 1930's refurbished lift is another great quirky feature. We had a beautifully decorated room at the front of the hotel with a balcony overlooking Bucharest.There was a desk and chair and 2 quirky armchairs and a coffee table. Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. There was a well stocked tea/coffee tray with 2 bottles of water which were replaced each day , there was also a large fridge. The en suite was large and spotless , the towels were a little small but did the job. Plenty of toiletries again replenished daily. The bed was large and comfortable. The hotel is in a great position , 10/15 minute walk into the Old town and other attractions. Plenty of interesting lighting combinations in both the bedroom and bathroom. Breakfast consisted of a large buffet style selection of continental items as well as cooked items - these were at best lukewarm on each of our 6 days. This is where the hotel is let down by rude and ignorant staff in the breakfast room who completely ignore you and on one morning a staff member was asleep with his head on the table !!! We ordered 2 breakfast boxes as we were leaving before 7am on one of the mornings to go on a trip when we went to reception we were told there had been a technical difficulty in the kitchen and they were unable to provide these ! Poor service letting down a great hotel.

This place is stunning and welll worth a visit. Great value for money, clean and the breakfast was really nice. The whole hotel has an awesome art deco vibe and the working historic lift is a nice feature. It felt very luxurious and the staff were so helpful and polite. Great location for exploring the old town and Therme spa. Would 100% stay here again.

Nice hotel by the theatre district . Clean comfortable rooms which remind me of the movie 1408 . It has an abandoned pool at the rear which I think is pretty cool and atmospheric. The staff are friendly and helpful , the breakfast was good , the bar area is nice . Some nice artwork on the walls . The area around the hotel is actually pretty good compared to the centre which I found a little sleazy .

I came with my family one evening and specified that we have a 3-year-old child. We need heat and the surprise is that the heat does not work, he moves us out of the room at 9:00 p.m., when the child was supposed to be sleeping, plus it is very dirty in the room at a 4-star hotel.I am very disappointed.

We came for a long weekend stay and our flight was late in, I was worried this would be a problem for check in but I needn't have. The staff were all wonderful throughout our stay. Our room was huge and very comfortable. We were on the first floor above the restaurant and apart the odd scraping of chairs this did not affect our stay. The complementary bottles of water in our room each day were a lovely touch and very welcomed after long days exploring! The location of the hotel was great for us with a lot of sights within a 30 minute walking distance. Old Town was 18 minutes away and easy to find. Highlights of our stay were the tour around parlament palace, the Fountains, and our visit to Therme Spa plus dinner in caru cu bere. Would totally recommend. We also made use of the hotel bar and restaurant, again all staff were very lovely. Breakfast was included in our stay and was just right to set us up for the day, it included hot options, toast cereal and cakes plus meats and cheeses so plenty to choose from. We ate dinner in the restaurant one evening the portions were huge and such great value for money. I had the risotto which could have easily served 2 people!
