We have stayed at. Northgate House on a number of occasions and have always enjoyed ourselves immensely. The quiet serenity of the situation next to the Abbey is immensely attractive, the rooms are very comfortable and the food and drink reasonably priced and toothsome. It goes without saying that the staff are universally kind and helpful. We will be staying again, DV!

Our 1 night stay was excellent in every way. The location next to the Abbey; the friendly and efficient reception staff; the spacious, immaculate and modern room; the cheerful, helpful waiting staff and last but by no means least, the excellent food. Would very happily recommend and return another time.

Outstanding . We love the hotel. The staff can't do enough for you . Spotlessly clean . First class breakfast which caters for everyone. Thank you to everyone even the chef who shared how he cooks the delicious mushrooms ( at breakfast ) Nothing needs to be changed .

Excellent in all respects. Peaceful location though would be less easy to get to if you didn't have a car. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms very well appointed. Good wifi. Breakfast very good. Separate from Abbey but a few yards to walk and explore.

The staff were all excellent and so welcoming. The room was comfortable, clean, quiet and well equipped. Breakfast was also of a really high standard and wish we had tried the evening meal - next time! I'm not religious but the whole place had a lovely peaceful aura because of the Abbey and the people who worked there.

Lovely hotel and room and , as we like fresh air, we were pleased to see a floor to nearly ceiling openable window in the room. Food was lovely with good service and reasonanly priced. My partner found the mattress a little uncomfortable for his liking is our only complaint.

A wonderful hotel for short stays. Good safe car park with flat walk into reception meeting friendly smiling faces to greet you. Receptionist was pleasant and very efficient guiding us to our lovely spacious room no. 116. Room was comfortable and very clean with on suite shower also French Doors onto balcony. Breakfast was also very good hot or cold. We had evening meal on our second night the steak was beautiful. Would recommend this hotel with friendly helpful staff to any one. Position of hotel is great close to the sea and moors with close proximity to Buckfastleigh Abbey. In all a wonderful hotel.

Lovely position and peaceful location, right next to the Abbey. We stayed one night - everyone was very friendly and welcoming, and at breakfast there was a great choice of good quality hot or cold food. The rooms were very comfortable, with great, powerful showers. Only thing in our room was the finishing around the shower tiles could be improved but that was minor for us. Thank you.
