One of the best stays I've experienced in my 12 years of travel history.Jugendherberge Schloss Burgdorf Hostel offers a unique experience, being an old castle turned into a beautiful hostel. The location is simply awesome.
However, I made a silly mistake by not calling ahead to confirm my check-in time and ended up spending a night outside in the chilly weather because the reception was closed. Thankfully, a staff member arrived the next morning at 7:00 AM and I was able to check in.
The breakfast provided is good, and the cleanliness and service are both commendable. The climb from the train station takes about 20 minutes, but it's well worth it for the incredible setting.
Overall, despite my mishap, this is one of the best hostels in Switzerland and I highly recommend it.

The staff is so friendly and the atmosphere is nice.

Great rooms, wonderful breakfast. Staff at reception still a bit cool. The food in the restaurant is wonderful, reservations necessary. Very child-friendly, the courtyard is ideal for wild games.

Reception, service and rooms, everything was top notch. Really nice people at reception who were also very happy with our little dachshund. The restaurant is also recommended, especially the à la carte for dinner, which is super quality at fair prices.

We particularly enjoyed our stay in this quite luxurious youth hostel. The setting of Burgdorf Castle is superb and the view from our double room was impressive. The room was very comfortable, clean and equipped with air conditioning. The staff was very attentive and friendly and the breakfast buffet was quite decent. We particularly appreciated being able to store our bikes in a secure location. We will come back with great pleasure.

Great accommodation. Everything worked out from A to Z. A great place to stay with children. In the evening it was very quiet in the courtyard from 10 p.m. and you can sleep well even with the windows open. Breakfast was a pleasure to enjoy in a beautiful hall. In general, this youth hostel is beautifully decorated. The museum is great and very doable with children. There is fun puzzles, crafts, opening chests, treasure chests and much more. It is worth visiting this museum. This accommodation is highly recommended

We spent New Year's Eve at Burgdorf Castle. Very beautiful castle. Our room on the second floor, accessible by elevator, was very good. There was a shared refrigerator in the hallway. We had a room for two people with a bathroom. Staff very friendly and helpful.
