Have stayed at this hotel a few times now on our way down to Cornwall. The first time the hotel had recently been taken over and improvements were already underway. Each time we have stayed more improvements have been done, rooms redecorated and totally revamped, conservatory at front totally gutted new windows ect. The couple who own it are very friendly, welcoming and this place is everything you could want. They don't do breakfast but hey we take our own everything you need is supplied except the food. Well done you two keep up the good work we will return.

We first stayed in this hotel in July 2021 and have stayed in this hotel several times since. The hotel is right opposite the beach and has a veranda that you can sit and look at the lovely sea view and also able to sit and eat. The hotel is always kept clean and the owner Nick and his wife are lovely people and very welcoming. This is my to go to place and have visited every year and will continue to do so for many yrs

Very good customer service Nick the owner was helpful and a pleasure to talk to. Our room was a decent size with brilliant white bedding, brand new shower, with table and 2 chairs, coffee making facilities. We would not hesitate to stay there again, hopefully in next few weeks. Nick took over the hotel in a dreadful state and he has quietly built it up to an above average standard. Well done Nick and family. Dawn and Kerry, Porthcawl South Wales.

Do not stay at this hotel and for that matter do not stop at Burnham on Sea. We arrived, checked in, went for a walk…then couldn’t get away quick enough. No decent pubs, restaurants etc it had a feel of desperation. Luckily found another hotel to stay at in Bridgewater

The hardest mattresses we have ever had to endure. The room was lovely, clean, etc. But sleep? No! My ribs ached, my shoulders ached... Just torture. I ended up sitting propped up all night. This would suit an overweight person but not having any padding of fat, no sleep. Awful!

We stayed here for one night , and was surprised. The room was clean, warm and the bed was very comfortable. We will definitely stay again if we are in the area. Nick the owner was very helpful and told us about good places to eat. It was an old building with character.

Stayed for two nights over Bank Holiday, the Royal Clarence Hotel is quite superb for it's cleanliness and presentation and has obviously been renovated extensively with private parking. The seafront view was excellent with as much tea and coffee as needed. The en-suite was nearly as big as the bedroom with a double shower, which was really appreciated after a rainy walk down the esplanade. Enclosed balcony was really nice just to relax in. Bed was comfortable with bedside lamps which worked - which is always appreciated. No meals are provided but you can use the dining room or an excellent range of cafe's and restaurants are within a five minute walk. All in all, we plan to return. Thanks to Nick and Ellie

Love love love this place. Have been Staying here several times a year whith my partner for the last 4 yesrs. Nick is always so accommodating. Rooms are always spotless and every staff member we have encountered are nice and friendly. Brought my sister for her first time for a little bit of girly time and she fell in love. Can't wait for the next time.

Front door to Hotel extremely difficult to open.Needs to be fixed urgently before somebody hurts their wrist trying to open it. A man appeared to reception within a few seconds of us stepping in.He listed us a list of what sounded like terms and conditions of staying on the premises which took approximately what appeared to be 2 minutes and finished with”Any Questions?”.We just wanted to depart reception at that stage. The room itself was clean and tidy with tea and coffee facilities. Basically you let yourself in and out of the hotel and no feeling of being in a hotel was ever present. If you are just looking for a room to stay whilst in Burnham On Sea,this is perfect but do not expect any sort of hotel experience or attention from staff.
