Very unusual place! I wouldn’t choose this part of Buxton again - prefer to be down the hill where it seems nicer. Also crazy expensive even though it was a festival night. The pub is pretty awful (not somewhere where I would ever go and this and the place next to it both had bouncers on the door in the evening). The staff are friendly and helpful though. The accommodation is all at the back and you don’t need to go through the pub once you have booked in. The room was small but with a large comfortable bed and thankfully a fan as it was a hot night. It was clean and nicely furnished although no accessible plugs near the bed. We got cool with the window open and fan on but sadly were kept awake by regular shouting and swearing until 4.30am. Not good, although the lady serving breakfast said this was unusual. It was due to her being so sympathetic (and the breakfast was fine) that I gave 4 stars instead of 3. I wouldn’t choose to stay here again but there are good points!

This place is worth the 5/5. The accommodation was very sweet, clean and comfortable and the surroundings very beautiful. Our dog loved the river in the grounds with the direct access! The breakfast was surgery with a really good menu, my partner is vegan and asked for the cooked breakfast without meat or eggs and the chef offered vegan sausage and bacon, what a treat! The staff are really great and friendly. We arrived very late and we were greeted by a lovely young man who took us to our shepherds hut by torch and was so helpful even getting us a drink such amazing service. The breakfast team were lovely and attentive. We also had a light lunch before we set off and the waiter Karim was so polite and kind. We were really impressed by everything that the Plough Inn provided, if I could over mark it I would. We have been coming to Sheffield every weekend for 10 weeks now and this really was the best place that we have stayed so I felt that I really wanted to congratulate the whole team. Thank you and hope we can come again although I think you are always booked up!

GGuest UserAn excellent stay in Buxton. We had a room in the grounds. We loved the attention to detail in how the room had been set up. Very comfortable with room to relax in the room, at a sheltered table on a small covered verandah, or outside. Very clean. We enjoyed a superb breakfast with fresh fruit and a great cooked veggie breakfast, with my GF diet no problem. A 15-minute walk downhill into the centre of Buxton. Would highly recommend.

BBENLIThe location of the hotel is very easy to find in the center of the town, and the internal environment is also good. Compared with many hotels built in old houses, the interior is very spacious. I chose the smallest loft room for one person, which is equivalent to a single room, but in fact, the loft also has other larger room types, so I don't have to be afraid of the loft. The facilities are new and easy to use, the bathroom water is particularly large and the bed is comfortable. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, the breakfast is semi-self-service and the environment is elegant and the food is fresh. Although the rooftop pool is small, it is not wrong. When people are few, the experience is better. The spa area is large underground. There are many rooms with various functions. It is a bit like the domestic bath center. The temperature of the pool is not very high, but it is not cold. The temperature of the spa pool in the room is OK. But not too high. The hot springs and breakfast are very convenient in the room rate, and the spa and pool are also used casually during the stay, which is very comfortable.

张张I didn't book the old hall, but this one is really good. The cleanliness and comfort of the room is my most important. The decoration is red classical style. There is a wedding atmosphere under the floor.

GGuest UserWe had my sons wedding reception here and it was so relaxed and well organised. We had a wonderful drinks reception and canapés delivered by friendly, professional staff and the Chatsworth room was decorated beautifully. The sit down meal was fantastic and service was impeccable. When they were setting up the room after the meal we sat in the lounge where a pianist added to the ambiance. Again the evening buffet was magnificent and we had our own bar .and the DJ played everyone’s requests. The bride and groom were given a huge suite for 2 nights and the staff couldn’t do enough to ensure everything was perfect- which it was.
