The Queen's Head Hotel

Stayed at the Queen's Head hotel over the weekend due to attending a concert at Buxton Opera House. We were really well looked after and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was clean , warm and welcoming. Whilst there is no on-site parking, there is parking in the market place only a minutes walk away which was easy to access. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

Stayed here for 3 nights during Hillhead £210 per night, expensive for the size of the room, but cheaper than other places. The landlord was very friendly as was the staff. The 14 rooms are behind the pub, you can access these from the side of the pub, saves you going through the pub. they close the beer garden at night to try and keep the noise down for the residents. You can hear the cars flying by during the night. Room was clean and lovely fluffy towels changed every day. Very good speedy WiFi. My only ****** was the shampoo and soap was limited, also the sink was too small. After I had shaved and washing my face, the water was going on the floor. You cannot get your head under the ledge that holds the toiletries. Beds very comfy, a fan would have been nice. Would I stay again? Yes, plenty of places to eat close by and only 10 minutes to the Hillhead show site.

Clean, functional accommodation. Well situated in Buxton for lots of restaurants etc. Plenty of hot water & very cosy. We enjoyed our stay, although the mattress was a bit too firm for our liking. Bar staff were friendly and helpful when checking in.

This is a pub with 12 rooms behind it in another building. A courtyard separates them. My room was of modest size and very clean. The staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. It has no parking lot; you have to pay in a public parking nearby. If you don’t want to move your car, there are two good pubs across the street for dinner. They offer a full English breakfast cooked individually, and you can have more or less of the individual items in it. There is no phone in the room; use your cell phone to contact the front desk.

This was our second stay at The Queen's Head. The pub and accommodation are fabulous. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a lovely cooked breakfast. We will certainly be coming back again.

We stayed 2 nights at this pub, the room was out back had to walk through beer garden to get to it, the room itself was clean and quiet, not a lot of room for bags, shower was too small and bathroom quite cramped, good they had a wardrobe and desk so good for the time we were there, found out later didn’t need to actually go through pub to access rooms can access through garage area at back with code, parked at back in residential street over night, hard to find parking close by if busy. I didn’t like look of pub inside dark and gloomy and very very loud, one of the staff a young man was very helpful and welcoming, we didn’t eat there so cant comment on that area. Although easy walk downhill to gardens and pavilion area i would stay in that quarter next time and give this area a miss as felt it was out of the main hub

Cozy pub hotel with great amenities and awesome location for Buxton! We stayed overnight at the queen's head and couldn't be happier with the room we got. It It was cozy although the mattress was a little soft for my taste, still slept like a log! Really central location for Buxton and was not far from the theater.

Great place to stay in Buxton, right at the heart, walking distance to most places but taxi rank 1 min walk as well
