Hotels near Ganet el Obour Mall, Cairo

The location is central, excellent for going around some shops but really too much noise. Our room looked directly onto the main street and there was an incessant honking at any time of day or night. The French window, in addition to not being insulating, was broken and did not adhere well to the wall. When we arrived we found neither towels nor a sheet on the bed and we had to request them. The EMBARRASSING breakfast!! We paid 10 euros each (for a two night stay) and for breakfast we were given a pack of 6 mini brioches, ONE small pack of jam and two of butter on a tray. If you don't like hard boiled eggs, this is the only thing you will eat. Forget about drinks, they don't exist. I had to request them, the first morning two cups of tea were prepared for us (I think it was an exception since nothing else was available) while the second not even that since it was finished. With 10 euros each in Egypt, leaving the hotel we would have had a dinner, not even a breakfast. In fact, I recommend the hotel either to include ”breakfast” in the price of the room or to eliminate it completely. Obviously they don't clean the room. Outside the building there is no sign indicating the presence of the hotel, so much so that the taxi driver himself had great difficulty finding it. Not recommended.

I consider this hotel is my home in cairo. The no.1 for all the 3 i stayed in cairo. The hotel is very near Tahrir Square, food shops, fast food, coffee shops nearby. Even I travelled other cities of Egypt i keep coming back here. Because of the staff are polite, friendly, trustworthy and I feel safe in the hotel. Main points I look for a hotel is cleanliness, good comfortable beds and hot strong shower (you dont have to take time just to take shower, the water is strong). Their laundry is a little higher to the previous hostel i stayed, but tiptop cleanliness and smell really nice, you pay right price. Other hostel they wash your clothes inside the building so its not really dried and smell like ”wet stored clothes”. They have kettle, small fridge, cable tv with english movies (MBC 2 i think), the internet is good enough. They provide towels, soap and tissue paper. They will respect your privacy and make sure you have a pleasant stay. The presentable room and toilet is nice and clean. Same as picture on the their hotel photos 🙌 Ask questions they will help you as much as they can. They help me also with ordering food coz some drivers dont speak english. Maybe the ground floor to elavator doesn't look appealling but you are safe in the hotel and the level floor very clean. This is downtown Cairo, so noise from the road will be normal, but the hotel a quiet place to stay. Thank you Mr. Rouf, and to all the staff of Grand City Hotel 🙏.

I like this hotel because of the location. It has a small pool but unfortunately pigeons love the pool as much as a customers and I don't like pigeons. They need to do something to limit the number of pigeons that like to drink the pool water. There is a machine that you can buy that pigeons hate the sound of and the people can't hear. The rooms are a bit small but they gave me a room where I could see the Nile the Ritz-Carlton and the Egyptian museum so ask for room at the end of the building. Staff is top-notch and goes out of their way to help you. Don't book tourist from the concierge it's a rip off. I've stayed at this hotel three times because of the location and the professionalism of the staff.

It is not far from the Cairo Museum in the downtown of Cairo's old town. In a small alley, it is more difficult to find. It is recommended to translate the hotel address into Arabic. The local driver in Cairo is not very good at English. The hotel room is generally watered in public areas. The service is quite enthusiastic, the floor is relatively low, the door is locked at night, and the hotel does not provide slippers.

General impression - a normal place to stay for a few nights. Perfect location nearby Egyptian Museum and the Sadat subway station. But this causes a very noisy surrounding: honking cars move just beneath the windows all day long. Helpful staff. A very nice cafe La Poire accessible without leaving the building. Good breakfast, a lot of options changing daily. Coffee could have been better though. The room was cleaned (I moved two beds together and found no dust underneath), but it's quite weary. The window lock didn't work, the fridge was loud. Black mold in the shower was upsetting, too. No iron nor ironing board in the room, but ironing service available at a reasonable price about 50 EGP per piece.

Bon rapport qualité /prix pour cet hôtel très bien situé, tout près de la place Tahrir et du beau ”Musée Egyptien”; chambre vaste et confortable, très propre à notre arrivée, literie et sanitaires corrects, personnel aimable et serviable. Nous reviendrons lors de notre prochain séjour au Caire !

Located by the side of Tahrir Square, this hotel is comfortable, my room was in third floor, the elevator is functional, and the staff are a bit over active. WiFi is functional, breakfast is quite limited and not much choice, even for fruit juice, one has to pay extra, corridors were full of debris and dismantled doors and windows. One can stay for a few days. Advantages of this place are important places like the Egyptian Museum, Tahrir Square, shops and eateries around. I particularly enjoyed a hot cup of tea just in front of the hotel early in the morning also leisurely walk.

It is centrally located opposite the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities. It’s a budget hotel so don’t expect luxury. It was clean and the sheets as with all Egyptian cotton was great. The teens loved it as it was run down with an old world charm. I suggest walking the 130 states up for hood exercise Hany and staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was included. The main reason I give this a good review was their graciousness with my husband forgetting to cancel 3 rooms in early Jan and transfer booking to Feb and they did not charge us He rang them the day we were supposed to be there

This is the best hostel in downtown Cairo. You will feel welcome from the moment you step into the hostel. They also offer complimentary drinks while you wait to check in. Marwa at the reception and Krolus are approachable, friendly and very helpful. You can ask them where to get good and inexpensive souvenirs, and they also offer tours around Egypt. The rooms are nice and very affordable. There is a shared bathroom, but I didn't have any problems with it. The bathroom is well-maintained and clean. 1 will definitely book here again if 1 get a chance to go back to Egypt.
