The Waverley Hotel

Fawlty Towers! The shower was dirty and broken, the plug didn’t fit in the sink! The cooked breakfast was horrible, they ran out of fruit half way through continental breakfast! The room was tiny, no chair, no biscuits. Our cups were never washed! Never again!!!!

We booked a table for 6.00 for 3 adults and 3 children, the chicken wings starters arrives quickly and they were ok. It went all downhill from there we had to ask if our order had been put through a few times as people were being served who came in quite a while after us. We waited approx 50 min after we had the starters before the mains came out, unfortunately the meals had to be sent back as they were cold and beef burger burnt black. It appeared that here was not enough staff on duty to cope with the level of customers. 1 girl serving the bar and taking orders, and 1 man serving the tables, both members of staff were very helpful and apologised about the meals and the time taken to serve them. The replacement meals were below average, we received a refund for the food which was appreciated. Wouldn’t take the chance of eating in the Waverley unless management made some changes to quality of food .

In the last four years we have Eaten here as part of our wedding anniversary celebrations. This would have been the fifth time, sadly despite booking a meal for Monday night at 5pm, they phoned me to cancel as kitchen had run out of food. So we'll never go there again.

We went for a meal at the Waverley. Staff very friendly. Meal terrible. Our friend ordered a baked potato. I did not think that you could get a potato so small, terrible. I ordered mac n cheese. It would not have covered a tea- plate. There was more salad than mac n cheese. The salad consisted of lettuce + onion, terrible. The 2 steak pies, find the meat, terrible

Me and my partner went for a few drinks and lunch in the afternoon then getalman at the bar the man with the dark hair and beard was so kind and lovey that we returned in the evening service was good and he was still on shift as we requested a football game it was no problem interaction was very good and professional toilet was clean and well managed and had a beer garden food was pub grub but small menu but good prices Steven said the fish and chips were ace so respect to the kitchen team as being with him for 10years he is fussy xx good TV screen to watch the football on . Again respect to the bar man and all staff tbh in summer it's probably best to book if they take bookings.

Stayed in the hotel before and had enjoyed that stay. So felt it was best to book there again. This time the room I was allocated had a shower over a bath but having a disability made it impossible to use. The bathroom floor creaked quite badly every time anyone were to walk over it. The bed was comfortable and room was decent although there was marks on the walls. Needs to a fresh lick of paint. we booked breakfast like previously but on this occasion the breakfast was not very good or up to a good standard. The Beans were dry, (as if they had been kept on a contact heat) the produce ie sausages weren’t pleasant to eat neither was the potatoe scone. All I could eat in total from the breakfast was the toast.so feel that I didn’t get value for the money on this occasion.

Visited here today for lunch. Found a lovely quiet spot inside through the back.Food is lovely and service was quick. This place was fairly busy for a Tuesday and there were a few families in for lunch too. The pub itself is light, airy and spacious and the staff are friendly and attentive we will definitely be back.
