La Villa Port Winston - Face Mer B&B
"This is a very nice b&b located on Gold beach in Normandie. It is easily accessed and has ample secure parking outside. Inside, it is basically appointed with simple rooms but clean. Toiletries was only a sachet of shower gel/shampoo. The bed was OK but the duvet did not fit the cover which fell out during the course of the night. Communication is difficult with staff as French is the main language. Breakfast very basic and in quite a small area which is also the reception area upon arrival. There was brie, hard boiled eggs, yoghurt, fresh fruit was just an apple. Coffee was good but watch out it spills out of the container provided. Good croissant and baguette. Teas were herbal. There is a toaster on the counter. It is certainly not worth the £120 a night."

"I accidentally booked the best manor hotel. The farm has a long history. Some of the architectural history has continued from the 100-year war to World War II (as a German office). The building is well preserved, and the interior has been maintained and renovated recently. It is very comfortable to live. The window view is very beautiful, you can see the pastoral outside, and the owner of the house has a cute cat (will pick up guests)! Breakfast is too delicate, homemade jam, farm eggs, etc. It takes about ten minutes to drive north to the omaha beach. The location is also very convenient. I am very happy that we stayed here for one night! A very very decent/pleasant/awesome living night. It’s a qualified place with history, well done renovations, cozy/clean/sweet guest room, qualified and very healthy delicious breakfast. The owner of the place is very kind, introduced us with the history of the place, gave us a lot of good restaurant and tourist sites recommendations. It was a 10/10 staying experience"

"The hosts, Frederick and Isabel, were absolutely wonderful. Very welcoming and helpful with plenty of great advice on exploring Normandy, both locally and further afield. Breakfast was always great with plenty of choice and delightful local produce (try the honey, delicious!) The room was beautiful. Very clean, bright and well appointed (fridge and plates etc). There is a door direct to the garden which has furniture and a lovely friendly pony. Les 4 Saisons is a definite favourite now."

"I’ve stayed here twice. The first time was during a group trip. The second I entered the property I knew I would return with my wife for our 20th wedding anniversary. We did, and could not have been more pleased. There’s something almost intangible about the place. There’s a familiarity about it that makes me feel at home across the globe. The beauty, history, and peacefulness is matchless. The staff is exemplary. We wish we could have stayed an entire month."

"My wife and I ran across this incredible Chateau on Trip Advisor, and were thrilled to spend two nights there. Immaculately manicured grounds, attentive and courteous staff, and superb accomodations made this a 12 STAR experience. Bayeaux is quiet, clean, and historic with a huge Gothic Cathedral built in 1077. You will love Chateau Sr. Gilles!"

"As locals from Normandy, we stayed as a family in July 2025 and were very disappointed. The room was poorly maintained: spider webs on the chandeliers, visible stains on the pillows… Overall, it gave a neglected impression. Several advertised services, like the indoor pool and Wi-Fi, were unavailable without any prior notice. When we calmly tried to share these issues at the front desk, the conversation was immediately shut down. The staff member was unpleasant and even refused to put us in touch with a manager. I sent an email after our stay but received no response. There was a complete lack of consideration for guests. We should have taken into account the negative reviews already posted online. Avoid if you want a quality experience in Normandy."
