The hotel is very close to the airport, the restaurant is delicious, and there seems to be no advantages. There are many small hares and squirrels on the small lawn of the hotel. It is not bad to take the children to see.

We stayed early Nov 2023 for our sons wedding. The accommodation is very clean and everything there that you need. Large bathrooms and there was plenty of water and milk provided in the fridge on the first floor. The beds were large and comfortable. The venue for weddings is perfect, plenty of parking and room for large groups in the common areas. The reception room is perfect with a view from all the windows it makes a great backdrop for the photos. The grounds are very well kept and it was a delight to stay there. The staff are so attentive, hard working and so friendly and efficient. Check in was a breeze, very informative and helpful. The continental breakfast was very well catered for starting the day. Thank you everyone at The Narrows Landing, I will be highly recommending to family and friends.

We enjoyed the comfortable accommodations and idyllic setting, overlooking a stunning, green valley dotted with lowing cows. Our hosts, Shona and David, were warm and welcoming (despite our rather late-evening arrival) and were very kind and accommodating during our stay. Kauri Lodge is located in an excellent central location for visiting the Waitomo Caves, Rotorua, and Lake Taupo, among other interesting destinations. We recommend Kauri Lodge for anyone looking for a homey, rustic, farm stay experience. Thank you, Shona and David!

This was the most expensive motel we stayed in on our holiday and the worst. We had a one bedroom and a single in the lounge both comfortable. The roller blind in the bedroom did not fit right over the window so bright light from outside came in both sides and there was no curtain on the back door and as it shone straight into the kitchen lounge area the single bed space was very light. The kitchen was very small and all cups etc on a high shelf we had difficulty reaching. The microwave was above the sink at face height so often banged our head as we tried to do dishes. The bathroom shower was great but bathroom extremely small and no where to put anything, toilet shower vanity all in together which is fine but you had to shut the door to even open the shower or get to the toilet was very squashed. Also long black hair on the floor in bathroom and we are both fair! yuk. They had no where comfortable for 2 people to sit and was quite noisy by the road. Says on website about a cafe but we didn't see one and it wasn't mentioned by owner and we were there 2 nights. Overall not a great experience sadly .

The staff are amazing. I had a health scare while I was staying there. The closest ambulance was 3 hours away. One of the staff members I believe her name was Kodie, drove me in her own vehicle to the hospital. She was amazing. I can't thank her enough.

Outstanding
GGuest UserWe stayed to get our daughter settled in to a training course. Wanted to stay somewhere nice and cental. Was clean new and central. Great property
RRaewynKnightI had two units to accommodate myself and my teenage son and a separate unit for an elderly relative. The TV volume would not go past 20 as it was pre-set. This made it impossible to be used by my elderly relative. The owners spent ages trying to find out how to change the setting. Eventually they got on the phone to the people they were rending the TV from and got instructions on how to change it which was good of them to make that effort. The unit my elderly relative was in had a walk in shower with a fold down seat which made it extra safe. Considering there was road works right outside the unit the double glazed windows kept almost all of the sound out. Overall a very good motel and the attentive friendly owners never showed any annoyance at the many requests for assistance that they got. I really appreciated their patience. The pillows are a little large and solid. If you are a pillow fuss pot like I am you should bring your own favourite pillow if possible.
GGuest UserWe booked into Podium Lodge initially for two nights, We had a large family group of 3 x couples, a pet dog & parents in a campervan. Unfortunately one of our group was admitted to Hamilton hospital unexepectedly before we had even booked in. The staff went out of their way to help us & regularly checked in with us for updates on how our family member was doing. They kept the rooms pencilled in for us - ensuring that we didn't have to change rooms at any stage & in one case charged us at a lower rate than what they could have. They even left flowers & mandarins in our rooms - ontop of this the actual accommodation was fantastic with lovely clean, quiet rooms & very comfortable beds. All the staff were exceptional to deal with - even down to the cleaners who were awesome & took a personal interest in our welfare. We would all highly recommend the Podium Lodge as the only place to stay in Cambridge.

GGuest UserReally good place to stay. Nice and clean, with aircon and even access to a salt water pool. Approximately 25 minute's walk from Five Stags - a good place to grab dinner and a few pints. The cast iron steaks and lamb were a really good experience for us.
We arrived with no booking but we were able to get a room. Room was themed (Bali Room) and suited its theme. Comfortable and spacious. Lovely setting in the country yet so close to town. Everything you could need for a night stay was provided. Would recommend.
GGuest UserWe were supposed to stay 2 nights but departed late in the afternoon of the 2nd night as it was too noisey. This property infact is not what I would call a motel but more like a hostel as it has a shared bathroom and a community kitchen which is more in line with a hostel. The nosie from the next door rooms is loud with banging of doors at all hours and right outside our only window is a balconey which belongs to the community kitchen with guests right outside our window and so we couldnt open our window or blinds as everyone would be looking straight into our room. Our room had an ensuite of which we paid extra for which included freeview tv but no sky channels. The bed was supposed to be a queen but it was 2 singles pushed together. Dont choose room 10 ask for a room across the corridor or around the corner avoid being beside the kitche n to get some privacy. The good points were the water pressure was good as was the shower and shampoo and soap and towels were provided as well as a small fridge and clock radio. The was ac/heatpump in the room and the location of the property was central to eveything and within walking distance to town and eating places, I wouldnt stayagain due to the noise factor as well as it not being a motel but a hostel. The check in process was friendly and easy and housekeeping did a good job at cleaning our room.
