My daughter is heading off to University in the Fall in Waterloo and this hotel is about 15mins away from the school (easy drive on the expressway) We've stayed here a total of 2 times while looking for an apartment for my daughter and her roommates. Great stay both times! Easy check in and out, free parking, free coffee and like a 'grab and go' breakfast in the morning with yogurt, fruit, power bars etc. We'll definitely say again when we visit our daughter. A no fuss hotel!

***** WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER ***** I have now witnessed the most incompetent guest service at a hotel ever. My background is Hotels. I worked at Claridges one of the most prestigious five star hotels in London England with Gordon Ramsey as our executive chef. I also worked as the head concierge at The Rimrock Resort Hotel in Banff as some examples. We were trained properly to go above and beyond a guests expectations. Upon arrival we waited over two and a half hours to get checked in as we were the only ones there at the time. Unfortunately due to the horrible management of this property they left a new team member on the front desk that had only been working there for a week. (complete failure on their part) He was absolutely lost and even said while he was dealing with me that he was going to have a heart attack or commit suicide after his shift. He was so flustered trying to get any kind of help from management on the phone. Finally the night auditor showed up and was able to check-in the backlog of guests sitting around the lobby. We had a confirmed booking for 2 Queens beds and upon our arrival into our room it was a king and sofa bed. I went back down to the lobby and they said that they would deal with it in the morning as the manager would get back to me about the room and our experience the night before. (I'd also just had back surgery 5 weeks prior) Our rate for the two Queens was 169 per night. After a Week (not the next day as promised) I finally received a call from the hotel operations manager Nalini Cackryanathen about my experience. She explained I would also not qualify for the 169 as we had a king bed and would have to pay 229 instead? ***? WE BOOKED AND HAD CONFIRMED TWO QUEEN BEDS with a confirmation number. In the end they offered a free night voucher to the hotel - NO CHANCE WE WILL GO BACK EVEN FOR FREE. I asked for the owners email so I could explain what is going on in his hotel and they refused saying he's not hands on and isn't really interested in the daily operations of his property? 🤯 I guess it comes from the top down!

Stayed here while moving our daughter into residence at U of G and booked here as they had a discounted rate for being U of G parent and hot breakfast included with your stay. This hotel is in the industrial part of town and there are no restaurants within walking distance (per front desk at check in). It is a 10-15 minute drive to the university depending on traffic. The room itself was clean but there were some maintenance issues. An outlet by the couch only had one functioning plug. The shower leaks all over the bathroom floor behind the toilet due to poor design and having a fabric shower curtain that won’t stick to the wall to form a seal. The bathroom door is very difficult to open and shut and has either shifted or has swollen due to moisture. The tub fills with water while showering so the drain obviously needs to be cleaned quite badly. Kitchen is small in size but functional for one person at a time. Fridge and microwave were clean. Beds and pillows were comfortable and were double size (as advertised). The couch was NOT a pull out even though it said that it would be on our booking. Breakfast was served in takeaway containers due to covid and while it was not great, it was edible. Kids booked to use the pool but it was so cold they didn’t enjoy it. It doesn’t appear to be heated. Not sure if this is due to covid and lack of use or what but it also needed to be cleaned. My daughter used the gym the one morning and said there were cobwebs on some of the equipment and there was only one 35 pound dumbbell. There was one treadmill, an elliptical and one bike. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. There was no housekeeping due to covid but they would supply extra garbage bags, you put your bagged garbage in the hall and they were pretty quick to remove it. Overall I would consider staying here again for a long term stay simply for the convenience of the kitchen. If I was coming for the weekend only though I would stay closer to the university for convenience.

I have to say I want to stay here again and peek around. I had the opportunity to stay for 3 nights, but honestly, I started looking at YouTube videos and realized this place is haunted and changed my mind. I now want to stay there again and realized i should have stayed here for my full business trip. I had the tolken room. Perfect for me. Big Fruit Filled Fig Tree mural and a view of the beauty of a church next to this pretty little community of Paris, Ontario. Whether my mind was playing tricks on me but several times I got noticeable chills down my spin and spouts of extream hot and freezing ice cold.....I know I was being watched and even had to say out loud a fews times to cut it out....nothing scary for me. Might freak some other people out, but remember, the mind can do some funny things to us. The staff is incredible! I met three staff members, and all had pride, and you could tell you are passionate about The Arlington. It is a big deal to work there because of its history and marking in our country. The one lady took me to the basement so I could see the original stone bar and foundation of this amazing structure. I really liked this unique experience staying here and hope i can stay here again one day. Really too bad I missed high tea, what a great idea. I bet they get lots of locals and tourists for these events. Thanks again!

Excellent
GGuest UserThis hotel checks all the boxes for me. It’s clean, relatively up-to-date, and the staff are polite and professional. The restaurant here is worth exploring too. I stayed here for three days and slept like a rock! Very quiet rooms, which is nice for a change! Thanks to the staff for taking care of me!
GGuest UserI would highly recommend this hotel. It was perfect for family, couples and business. The staff was amazing! Breakfast was a buffet and was included in cost of stay, food taste and variety excellent!! Pool had a perfect temperature!!
GGuest UserDespite a remarkable sunset the evening I was there, an excellent view of such from my room's window, some truly luxurious pillows and blankets on the bed, and a premium television-watching experience, my enjoyment of the stay was hampered by the less than optimal location. I didn't realize how far it was out there in the suburbs, and I couldn't even get to the LCBO because of how pedestrian-unfriendly the area was! Also they charged the room to my credit card by mistake even though my stay was prepaid... but when I called them about it they were friendly and helpful and corrected this error.
GGuest UserI am surprised by the decent reviews this hotel gets. I have stayed at many Four Points hotels before and they are usually a very lovely stay. This hotel has been the worst stay I’ve had in a long time. I did not make use of the facilities, such as the pool, but shuttle was not available, neither was the continental breakfast. Immediately upon checking in and getting to my room, I went straight back down to the front desk to ask for disinfecting wipes for common surfaces in my room. The doors, particularly the bathroom door, was visibly dirty, the bathroom surfaces (if they had been wiped) looked like they were wiped with a dirty cloth. The walls had not been wiped down and had questionable dirty spots on them, as well as hair. There was hair in my shower. The switch for the light beside my bed hadn’t been wiped and the lights themselves were visible dusty. Cupboards were dirty. USB charging port did not work and the fridge did not keep my bottle of water cold. If it wasn’t 1am I would have asked for a different room. Front reception staff did not offer to remedy the situation and were very mildly apologetic. During Covid times, if they are clearly not wiping visibly dirty high touch surfaces, what other protocols are they not following? This was my first trip home in two years and it was for a family emergency. I had high expectations for safety standards. At check out early the next morning; after not being able to get a complimentary breakfast, as per my booking, I voiced how disappointed I was with the cleanliness of my room, and staff told me that since I had booked through a third party they could not offer a price adjustment but if I wanted to order a breakfast from their restaurant there was 10 minutes left to do so.. after I had checked out and was about to be picked up. Based on the cleanliness of my room, I would not be interested in ordering anything from their restaurant. Disappointing stay/service. I would not recommend this hotel unless you don’t care and just need a bed to sleep in.
GGuest UserDon’t stay at the Travelodge. If you choose to do so you’ll be disappointed. Come here. It’s exceptionally clean. Kim at the front desk is just wonderful. Everything is clean and recently renovated. You can tell they still have hotel staff that cares. I really hope they’re treated well!
GGuest UserI would recommend this hotel to anyone. Just do not use reservations.com. Call direct and the service is awesome. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The room was clean and did not smell of pets, it was great and I would recommend it to anyone
