Song Ngu Riverside Homestay What a great Homestay in Can Tho. Cindy is a fantastic, helpful host, providing great communication through the post booking period and during the stay. (Two examples are (1.) she provided the Vietnamese text whilst we were in transit to find and catch the free shuttle service from the bus station to the Homestay and (2.) also arranged emergency dental treatment in town. The rooms are comfortable and quiet providing a relaxing location for the Mekong Delta. Although some way out of town everything you need for a chilled stay is here. A great restaurant and bar overlooking the river, decent sized pool etc. What makes a place is the staff and Cindy’s team are amazing. Always cheerful and happy to help, great in the kitchen delivering delicious food, wonderful bar staff too. Another big plus is that Cindy and her team can deliver a number of trips and activities for during your stay. 1. We were loaned two bikes and Matthias (Cindy’s husband) suggested a great route for a quiet cycle ride on the other side of the river, including how to find the small ferry and the costs of the crossing). It was great to get out and meet genuine people going about their daily routine. We were even invited into a family celebration in one of the villages. 2. The Song Ngu cookery classes shouldn’t be missed. You’ll discuss the types of food you like and what you’d like to cook, then be taken to the market to buy the fresh ingredients for your lesson. Our instructor Kyn aka ‘Pretty Boy’ was an entertaining, enthusiastic instructor. We made crispy shrimp spring rolls and red tilapia with vegetables and rice. Don’t be surprised if you end up sharing samples with other guests as the portions you make are massive. 3. We did the early morning floating market tour, again with Kyn. The 5am start is well worth it. Watching sunrise over the Mekong and the bustle of the market unfold is unforgettable. You get to do loads during the 6 hour trip, starting from the Homestay bar. Not only do you get to visit the floating market, we visited the onshore market, took breakfast back in the boat at a floating cafe, visited one of the larger boats to see how families live and work on the water, visited a family run rice paper factory where we made rice paper and rice noodles, walked a local village and plant conservation area and enjoyed a platter of fresh fruit and jasmine tea before a sedate tour through the backwaters. Kyn was a knowledgeable guide, taking things at a sedate pace and recounting many stories and anecdotes. If you’re looking for a chilled Homestay with exceptional food for a relaxing but informative break in the Mekong delta, then this is the place for you. Our stay exceeded all expectations due to the hard work of Cindy and her wonderful team. We’ve made life long memories from our time with you all. Thank you

We had a lovely staff at this Homestay Cindy her husband Matthias baby Snowy are a delightful family Cindy’s sister Mother and other family members make this a homey feel If you are looking to do a bicycle tour please ask for Daisy a lovely young lady who will take great care of you Thia took us on the early floating market trip A must not only is she an excellent guide but a photographer and great sense of humour A very trust worthy street crosser lol She not only will teach you about flowers and fauna but noodle making too Don’t miss out ❤️

If you are heading to the Mekong Delta this is the only place to stay. A very well run and chilled out place perched on a small river. Have a beer or smoothie in the restaurant and watch small river boats pass by. Then hit the pool for a splash or even get a massage. They offer several tours run by vetted guides that speak very good English. We did the cooking class, the cycle tour and the floating markets. These were excellent and really gave an authentic Vietnamese experience as the guides take you to many places, some of which had few foreigners. The staff speak good English and look after you well. The menu has so many amazing Vietnamese dishes, you will want to have them all. Rooms are very comfortable and the replenish your water bottles each day. The owners Mathius (Belgium) and Cindy (Vietnamese) are very genuine people who were able to help with all requests. We were there for Christmas and they put on a BBQ buffet. Later Matthius let us sample many of his rice wines infused with different flavours. Overall I had no complaints.

Thinh was an amazing tour guide! We did the floating market tour and the nature reserve tour with him. We also did the cooking class with Ms Ti, she was very good as well. Would definitely recommend!

We had a truly wonderful time at Song Ngu homestay in early October. The owner, Cindy, was so helpful in advising us how to get here by bus from Saigon. As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed and felt comfortable. Her husband Matthias, was also warm, welcoming and full of helpful advice for our short stay. The homestay is a great place to hang out, eat, rest and explore the local area by boat or bike. One highlight of our trip was the delicious, healthy and homemade food. It was the best we had on our trip! Another highlight was the early morning river market tour. Getting up early before 5 am was a challenge, but it was so worth it. It was great to be on the river early, and we got to watch the beautiful sunrise. It was fascinating to see how people live on the river, using it as a valuable resource. Our guide, Tea (sorry about the wrong spelling) was so professional and interesting. She looked after us so well and took us to several locations on this tour. It was excellent and I highly recommend this tour and the guides, especially Ms Tea, who works from Song Ngu homestay. We had great fun with her, and she set up several amusing photos for us to keep as memories. I would love to return here in the future to explore a bit more and sit by the river watching life go by.

Floating market tour: We had an amazing time with Kyn – honestly the best tour guide we could have wished for! We learned so much about the local culture, got to try a variety of traditional foods (I completely fell in love with the sticky rice with coconut), and enjoyed every moment of the trip. Kyn made the tour fun, insightful, and truly special. We are super happy and can absolutely recommend this experience!

We had such a great three nights here. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the food was fantastic (prepared fresh when ordered, so putting in your order in the afternoon is recommended). Our guide Edward was a delight, and we ended up doing a few extra tours with him over our stay as he was so knowledgeable and fun. There's quite a bit we wouldn't have seen or considered without him! The homestay owner's husband also delivered us an amazing rice wine tasting presentation which I absolutely recommend.

Had a a lovely time with Thinh and Mr. number 3 exploring the floating market and nearby market. Picked us up promptly and Thinh answered all of our questions thoroughly. The price was excellent even though it was only me and my partner. Make sure to bring cash for any extras you might want to buy at the shops and boat/shops. Also wear sandals as the delta is prone to flooding at times and i ended up soaking my sneakers getting off the boat at some points.

The cutest homestay next to the water. Good food & clean rooms. We participated in the bicycle tour as well as the early morning tour to the floating market. The guides from both tours were very kind and knowledgeable. The activities were diverse and on gave us a nice impression of the Mekong Delta. All in all we had a great time and would recommend both the homestay and the tours!
