The Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort Villas & Spa, Cancun

Our experience at Lagunamar was a memorable one. Very clean facilities and the Photoshop was an awesome bonus. We booked our appointment with Ima. She took us to places around the resort we never thought to take a picture. We wrapped up our photo shoot on the beach; very happy with the results. Highly recommend.

The best infinity pool in the beach!

My wife and I have been coming to Cancun since the 90s. We have stayed at many nice resorts. This resort surpasses every single one in almost every aspect (dining is only ok). Cleanliness, attention to detail, the 2 infinity pools, and I belive, the best beach on the *****. Any small issues are immediately and professionally handled with appropriate follow up to make sure that we were satisfied. The full kitchen and BBQ grills allow you to eat in, and there are many dining options across the street at the local mall. Although, the pizza at the pool bar was tasty and reasonable.

My family and I really enjoyed the Westin Lagunamar resort. We came here with our 8 year old and 4 year-old in a 1 bedroom villa. As Marriott owners, we traded into Westin through Interval International, and we hit a home run! We used ' the One' for shuttle service from the airport to Lagunamar, and it was seamless. Upon arrival, we had our choice of any bld pretty much on any floor. Although we initially choose bld 900, the kids wanted more of the beach and pool view, so we switched to bld 600 on a high floor. The room is very modern with full kitchen, with really nice bathroom. Jacuzzi tub, with separate shower..really nice. We had a A+ view, absolutely fabulous. Kids loved the huge infinity pool and the awesome beach! Huge Flat screen tv and couch was nice. Although the cable package was only ok. The 2 for 1 happy hour was also awesome. The Vieneto sports grill bar on property was also decently priced and tasty. My 4 yr old was thrilled as there were iguanas all over the property for him to chase around. Claudia was great in scheduling a lot of our excursions trips as well! The staff was always so very friendly and helped out whenever they could. A+ staff! Only issue we had and it was resolved was that my wife ordered several pizzas from the pool restaurant for the room. We had to go pick them up and the pizzas were personal size pizza's and not very good. The pizza were like $25 each, but it turns out the restaurant does not normally make pizzas for the rooms in the evening. They are a small specialized pizza for in- dining mostly. We were able to reach an acceptable solution with the restaurant. Lagunamar is in a really nice spot right across the street from the mall, which has a cool aquarium for the kids. We avoided taxi 's the whole trip just because they are pushy and way too $$$$. We suggest Uber and the bus to get around the hotel zone. We did get a good deal by doing the timeshare presentation at Lagunamar. It was not too bad, as it lasted 90 mins like they said it would. It was not a real high sales pressure presentation, buy they did seem annoyed that we didn't wasn't to buy points or buy bonvoy points. The bonvoy points offer is not a good deal, so don't get ****** in. All in All we really like the Westin Lagunamar alot and will for sure stay here again when coming back to Cancin!

Overall, I liked staying here. I came for the first time in 2021 and enjoyed it so much that we decided to come back. The place has noticeably dated in the last few years and could use some room and beach chair renovations. The thing that upset me the most and why my rating is low is because we decided to use the washing machine in our room to do one load of laundry using the provided detergent. Upon removal of our laundry, the cotton clothes in the wash were stained with bleach. Clothing estimated at around $250 was completely damaged. After taking our ruined clothes to the staff, they took some pictures, asked some questions and said there is no way this could be their fault. the detergent does not have bleach and the washing machines are not cleaned with bleach so there is nothing they would do to help us. This was extremely disappointing that there was no effort from anyone to help compensate towards our loss and no ownership of faulty room equipment leading to unsatisfied guests. I was told someone would contact me, and still no effort has been made by anyone at the Westin. I will not be returning to this property again because of the disappointment in how they treat their guests and their belongings.

We just got back from our vacation at the Westin Lagunamar. It’s a beautiful resort. All the staff were great, especially Eduardo the pool concierge and Jorge at the pool bar! We had a wonderful time.

This was a great hotel. The view of the ocean from the balcony was amazing. As a bonus, we also had a view of The Scorpion Temple ruins from our balcony as well. We had a 2 bedroom villa that was well appointed. The beds were very comfortable with ceiling fans in every room for added comfort. The bathrooms had jacuzzi tubs with a separate shower and soft, thick, absorbent towels. The kitchen had everything we needed, from a lime juicer to a blender capable of crushing ice for a nice frozen Pina colada. The coffee maker had a built in filter and the hotel supplied a few packs of coffee along with some sugar, salt, and pepper packets, dish soap, and a few dishwasher detergent packs. There was enough plates, silverware, and cups for 6 people, along with pots and pans to cook with. There was a convection microwave and cook top, but no oven. The pool was nice, but you need to get down there early to get chairs next to each other. There is a nice and surprisingly challenging putt putt golf course on site that you can get the clubs and balls for through the kids club. There is also a ping pong table and giant chess game you can play during rainy weather. The on site gym is very well equipped with varying hand weights, kettle balls, TRX straps, treadmills, stair steppers, and various nautilus machines. It also has a sauna and a steam room. The La Isla shopping center is across the street from the hotel with plenty of restaurants and shopping ranging from souvenir t-shirt shops to high end stores. There is a Soriana grocery store a 10 min walk (or a 3 min bus ride) away with everything you could need and the prices are on par with American prices. We enjoyed our stay here immensely and plan to return.
