This Hampton Inn is probably the worst we've stayed in from the Hilton brand. We generally feel safe selecting Hampton Inn when vacationing in a new-to-us area, but this was not a good experience. The desk staff was friendly and pleasant, and the room was reasonably clean. The pillows felt lumpy and old and had a slight odor that gave me an uncomfortable reminder of how many other heads had been on them and that I should probably travel with my own. Air conditioning worked pretty well, although I couldn't get the fan to stay on for white noise, but the temperature seemed to stay where it was set. As other reviews have mentioned, the pool had no towels, so I had to request them. Also mentioned in other reviews was the pool and hot tub were not clean. The pool was murky and cloudy, with many dead insects floating in it, and was almost intolerably cold (even for a very water-loving kid--IYKYK). The hot tub water was very YELLOW and was close to dangerously hot--as hot, or hotter than adult hot tubs I've used, definitely not safe (nor comfortable) for families to let the littles play in. At first, I assumed the hot tub's yellow color might be from discoloration from hard water, but it wasn't, it was the water. The chemistry in both, but especially the hot tub, was way off. I wouldn't let my family go into the hot tub to warm up after the pool because my foot and ankle quickly started to itch horribly when I tested the temperature. We cut swim time short after looking at the hot tub and becoming increasingly uncomfortable with the murky, dead-buggy water of the pool. The two stairways I used had relatively new-looking carpets but were filthy with dead bugs and general debris. It honestly looked like it had never been vacuumed. Breakfast was not the best. Scrambled eggs, cold, mushy-mealy tater tots, very processed sausage, the standard make-your-own waffle iron, and oatmeal I didn't sample for the hot items. A couple of pre-packaged muffins, basically no bread items to toast, a couple of cold cereal options, and some banged-up apples. Coffee was fine and the coffee bar stocked, juices offered. No yogurt. This Hampton Inn was not up to par for the brand, nor for the nightly rate. It needs general, basic attention. For goodness sake, send someone to vacuum the stairs--yuck! The management needs to educate themselves to care for the pool and hot tub, hire a service, or close it. That area seems like it could become a health hazard.
