Although we did not stay at the hotel, we attended a cocktail party today for a family wedding. I want to say that this far exceeded our expectations. The manager Megan was the person who ran the event and she was outstanding in every way. She made us feel so welcome and spoke to each of us multiple times to make sure that we were never left with empty glasses. A few of the others had met her during breakfast they said, and she remembered them when they entered the party this afternoon. Now that is impressive! She was everywhere and went above and beyond. But I want to mention specifically that my grandson was very hungry and food was not included. Megan offered and went and turned on the fryers in the kitchen and made my grandson a side order of French fries even though the kitchen was closed! Now that is hospitality!!!! Next time we come in town we will stay at this hotel and we hope that we will get to see Megan again. We may even come in just to see her for breakfast tomorrow morning.

I stayed here the nights of June 15 and June 16 for a conference I was attending on site. I am a returning customer. Check in was a breeze, and my king bed room was clean and spacious for me staying there alone. I was impressed by the black towel marked ”makeup” in the bathroom; what a clever way to keep black mascara stains off white towels. I was not expecting housekeeping service during my stay, but was delighted to find the bed made and bathroom freshened up while i was at the conference. I at 5ive Restaurant on site both nights, simply because I was too lazy to drive anywhere else. Menu tends to be on the expensive side, but I was able to find reasonably priced items to suit my budget. They are understaffed, just like everywhere, but had no issues with ordering and getting my food. In fact, the chef served me one night, so you know they need staff. The bar was extremely busy, and so wasn't able to spend much time talking to bartender John, who remembers me each year I come.

This hotel is a “Fair”field We just stayed. The hotel was good enough but nothing exceptional. The positives: it was easy to park and go in, the room was mostly clean but not totally, breakfast was ok, the staff were kind and helpful. The negatives: the air system was awful, our room was hot and muggy and we could get the air to ever properly ventilate and the windows are screwed shut, there was a pill on the floor which feels troubling in the hotel room, there was hair and dirty smudges on the wall of the shower, the sink drain was slow and I asked for it to be repaired and it wasn’t attended to. Also this hotel is constructed in a way where every door slam, foot fall and sound is audible. Mercifully people were quiet during our stay but we always knew when our upstairs neighbors were up and walking around their room. It’s a cheap hotel, it’s clean enough but you definitely get what you pay for.

I sincerely like this hotel and that’s the reason I’ve returned to it more than 10 times within the last 3 months! Excellent breakfast, very respectful staff and oh great location. There rooms are always very clean also. They charge as little as $87 plus tax for a kings bedroom with a living room and sofa! My only issue is why I have never been rewarded for being a consistently returning customer lol.

I had a poor experience at the Sheraton in Novi while staying with a family member to celebrate a belated Christmas as we weren't able to get together around Christmas proper. While I was upgraded to a room on the club lounge floor, the guest room I received was not clean by any definition of clean. There was hair on the desk and desk chair, hair on the toilet, hair under the toilet seat, hair on the wrapped bar of soap and soap dish, stains on the desk, and stains on the face tissue container. The single bathrobe hanging in the closet appeared to have been previously worn and didn't have a cincture. On my reservation I specifically requested only 100% feather pillows. My reservation also requested a bathrobe, slippers, extra pillows and extra towels. I didn't receive any of those things. The four pillows were four polyester down-alternative pillows. Those pillows are horrible. They always feel like someone stuffed cotton balls in a pillowcase. During check-in I noticed a sign at the front desk saying daily housekeeping is not provided, unless specially requested. The major cleanliness issues that I experienced are a direct result of what happens when hotels don't clean rooms and other spaces each and every day. I received zero Marriott Bonvoy elite status recognition. Specifically, I was not offered the choice at check-in of breakfast in the restaurant, an amenity or points. I complained to the general manager, who to his credit acknowledged the lack of cleanliness was unacceptable, fully apologized and took responsibility. To resolve the issue, he offered to comp my stay and ensure that the room was thoroughly cleaned while we were out of the room and off-property at a nearby shopping mall. He also apologized for the lack of Bonvoy recognition and provided the $100 cash compensation that is required by Marriott for not offering guest with platinum or higher Bonvoy status the choice at check-in of breakfast in the restaurant, an amenity or points. When we returned, the room was properly cleaned. The pillows were replaced with feather pillows, although none of the feather pillows had pillow protectors or pillowcase liners. Two clean bathrobes and two pairs of slippers were placed in the closet. The general manager was also kind enough to leave a bottle of wine in the room. My family member was really appreciative of that gesture. Despite the issues, the staff that I encountered throughout the stay were polite, welcoming and hospitable. That aside, there was zero excuse for the cleanliness issues or the lack of attention to what was specified on the reservation The club lounge was open with an average evening offering that included a selection of assorted cheeses, crackers, grapes, fruit and some basic canapés. Besides free nonalcoholic drinks, an honor bar featured cheap house wine ($5 retail bottles of wine) selling for $5 a glass. The club lounge is a nice smaller space. On July 14 I flew to Detroit to attend a funeral on the 15th. I carefully researched airport hotels. The one I wanted was The Westin but couldn’t justify $340 for 11 hours. So I chose the next best thing, Embassy Suites, still expensive at $200 but I prefer to be clean and comfortable in hotels. Embassy Suites has always fit the bill in the past. When I walked into Room 217 my heart sank. It did not have that clean feel I was used to and had a moldy odor with old worn out furniture. I took photos to prove all of my anxieties. The curtains were old, thin, shabby and torn. The sofa was torn in several places. The table had dried food on it. The beds looked like children had made them up and the pillows were small squares like the size of medium throw pillows. The bed spreads were worn out and thin. There were stains on the pillow cases and make upon one. The towels were shredding. The toilet was so small your knees were up in front of you. I was appalled and disheartened. But, like a big girl, I sucked it up and did my best to make the room to,enable by spraying it with sanitizer and perfume and covering areas with towels. I carry a travel sheet for those…’Just-in-case’ moments which I never thought would happen at an ES hotel. I put my sheet over the sheet and pillow case and tried to be a good soldier. I began to nod and opened my eyes and saw something moving. Startled, I jumped out of the bed and grabbed a tissue to see what this was. I hate bugs of any kind but at this point of desperation, the bar was so low, all I could hope for was that it was a filthy disgusting roach and NOT A BEDBUG‼️ I put the insect in the water glass with a little water and took a picture. When I enlarged the picture I was beyond upset and completely baffled…IT WAS A TEXTBOOK BEDBUG!!! I googled images of bedbugs to see if this really was a bedbug and…it really was a bedbug…smh. I called downstairs and told the desk clerk, Diamond, there was a bedbug in my be along with all the other cosmetic problems, she replied “I can assure you it is not a bedbug cuz we get checked for them every two weeks. I decided to take it down to the manager but that person was gone. I showed Diamond the photos of the condition of my room and she was disconnected. She explained the furniture is not their fault because Covid prevented them from remodeling. Ok, regardless of the reason, the facts were the facts. She didn’t need to prove anything just lend an ear of understanding how I was feeling about paying $200 for 11 hours. It seemed Diamonds customer service skills needed honing. Diamonds words of understanding and compassion were “Would you like to check out?” I kid you not. I was not trying to get a refund, I saved $10 by using Priceline instead of Hiltons site so, no, I’m just letting you know what’s happening…period. I only spent 1 night here, and I was kinda prepping for a typical sort of crappy motel. Is it a luxury hotel? No, no one is gonna confuse it for that. But the room was comfortable, the wifi worked, the shower was fine, AC worked well and maybe most importantly for an airport hotel, the price was reasonable and there was a shuttle available. I really couldn't have asked for anything more in an airport hotel, frankly every major city should have this as an option and sadly that's just not the case, far too often you're in over $100 for the same room or worse. Of note, I clicked ”yes” an outdoor pool is available, but in reality their pool is totally out of commission. Didn't bother me, and in the upcoming months it won't matter, but if you wanted to take a dip, you can't.

The outside of this hotel makes it look quite clean and accommodating however, looks are deceiving. I was booked a room for 2 nights, (not cheap) and was assigned a room at the back of the hotel. The room was not as clean as it should be. The lamp in the corner was broken, there is a distinct lack of accessible plugs for laptops and cell phone. The carpet looked like it needed a good shampoo and the chair by the bed definitely needed an upholstery clean. The bathroom was far from clean with a dirty tissue dispenser, a portable mirror on the vanity was absolutely filthy underneath and the tile calking on the floor was brown with heavy staines. Even the room number on the telephone did not match the actual room number. The room safe was unable to be opened as the previous guest had locked it and left it with their own combination. Don't waste your hard earned money on this place. I decided to only stay the one night.

First let me start off with the staff and customer service was excellent. I really appreciate all of the help from the staff. The kids loved the pool it was a nice indoor heated pool. Rooms were clean and housekeeping did a beautiful job.
