We spent 9 nights at the lovely Olaf's Guest House visiting from Melbourne Australia. It proved to be a great choice in terms of location, amenity and price. The owner, Raymond, was a welcoming host and always on hand to chat to and get advice from. The lovely Hazel, who with Raymond, looks after guests was also accommodating and super friendly, offering suggestions on the local eateries and assistance with bookings. The place itself is well positioned between the Sea Point main road, with its restaurants and small shopping malls, and the esplanade running along the Atlantic coast, which is a great place for morning walks. Breakfast was a treat each morning in the cosy meals area or outside on the terrace on sunny mornings. The wonderful lady from the kitchen always smiling and hapoy to take or breakfast eggs orders. Olaf's is the perfect go-to for a comfortable Cape Town visit.

We stayed at the guest house twice in May 2024. As soon as we entered this island of tranquility in Cape Town we felt like we were visiting a kind caring friend. We had a lovely bright room with everything a traveler needs. All details are taken care of. There is an atmosphere of reliability and coziness. We also remembered the lovely living room with a fireplace that was lit for us several times! We really enjoyed reading the newspapers next to it and having aromatic coffee in the morning and delicious sherry in the evening. The owner of this lovely place, Raymond, was very attentive and friendly. He made time for us every day to talk and check if everything was ok. I would like to mention Raymond's excellent fine sense of humor and his kindness. Before we settled here we had had breakfast in different coffee shops every morning for a week, but it was "Olaf's.." that eliminated the need to go out in the mornings as we really enjoyed breakfasts there. Next time we visit Cape Town, we will definitely stay at this place.

Unbelievable!! Great people and great location. Very warm and inviting and safe. Nice rooms. If you are the type of people that DO NOT want to stay in a hotel like you could get in any city in the States, this is the place for you. The waterfront area is very touristy and won't give you a good feel for the City. Olafs is in a great location. 30 min walk to the water front if you wish to go, along the ocean pathway. Close to great restaurants and easy to get to other areas of town. Rooms were well appointed and staff accommodating.

We travelled to Cape Town with a group of 12 people, we stayed in this lovely guesthouse for four nights and it has been perfect! in the evening we had the whole place for ourselves and could spend time in the lovely common rooms. It has been like being at home but with the advantages of always having perfectly clean and tidy rooms, a great breakfast and complete availability from the staff. Hazel, in particular, has always been very careful to our needs and very present, but at the same time very professional. We totally recommend to stay here if you want to spend a holiday visiting Cape Town and at the same time being a step away from the incredible Ocean views the area offers.
