Location on the sea, spacious rooms, quality food, truly plentiful and truly varied breakfast, beautiful spa, and then the transparent Calabrian sea and white sand on a lido also equipped with a swimming pool. What more could you want

Hotel was in a beautiful spot on the sea and rooms were clean. Restaurant service was horrible. I would not recommend for Americans they made it very obvious they did not like us and would not wait on us until they took care of their European clients. It’s also not near any of the local towns and rides were $50euro round trip through the hotel.

I was booked for a stay at this hotel for an arrival date of June 10th 2023-June 13th-2023. Family affairs prevented me from making the trip and it was cancelled on April 3rd. The hotel never refunded my down payment of over 700 dollars. This is shameful and I will make it my business never to stay at this hotel or recommend it to friends and family. Though this review site insists that I put in a date that I went, I never did and the cancellation was made in a timely fashion.

Excellent location by the sea! Own beach by the hotel. Water sports, tennis, spa .... Great service, maybe a little light english knowledge. A real place with a view! Only 1+ hour travel from the airport. Clean and well maintained environment. Staff is very helpful and service minded.

We spent two nights in this property, it is the third time we have stayed here over a ten year period , even though the hotel is only 4 star it does not disappoint , checking is efficient and friendly as is the baggage and valet park service . The room reflects the hotel being spacious ,modern and very lean , facilities are as expected with excellent connectivity. The bathroom is supplied with pump action toiletries and medium quality towels ,water pressure is superb .there is a complimentary breakfast which is only adequate , salads options were lacking and replenishment of some items was poor ,most of the staff were were very pleasant however we remember the the breakfast being much better on our previous stay . Externally there is a large pool good access to the beach and plentiful sun loungers there is also a spa which we felt was overpriced. In short we enjoyed our stay but are not certain if we would return .

We stayed for one week in September 2021 and had two double rooms. One room got upgraded from garden to sea view which was very nice. The whole resort is very beautiful, clean and modern. The rooms were big and had huge bathrooms, they also were always very clean. The beach was beautiful along with the clear blue water. The swimming pool is big and filled with salt water but showers are available as well. The hotel is in a remote location, there are lunch restaurants on the beach but we had booked breakfast and dinner included because the hotel can only be left by car (in my opinion) because it’s in a bay and evening restaurants are on top of the “cliff”. Food and drinks which aren’t included are quite expensive compared to other hotels. For breakfast there is a buffet with everything you could wish for except veggies and different cheeses. For dinner there is a 3 or 4 course Menu. In the beginning it was tricky for us to understand how dinner “works” because we didn’t get an explanation on what was included in the price. They bring you a card where you can choose out of 3 dishes for 3 courses and desert. What they didn’t tell us was that desert isn’t included in the price so you have to pay it extra except if you choose desert instead of the third course. The portions are very small but if you eat 3 courses they’re filling. If you don’t have dinner included you have to expect to pay 18-26 Euro per course per person. The food overall is really really good but the dinner service was very bad. The waiters were ignoring us and after telling them what we wanted to order for each course we had to wait a whole hour until we got the first course. They don’t speak English and also didn’t understand when I tried to speak Italian to them either so we got the wrong food sometimes but we didn’t have to pay extra. There was one waiter who even spoke German, but he wasn’t allowed to take our order because he didn’t have one of the iPads where they put in your order. Only 2-3 waiters have access to the iPads and they run around like headless chickens not knowing who has ordered and who hasn’t. I didn’t understand the organisation of the restaurant at all and even the lady at the reception said she knows that it’s really bad so I don’t understand why they don’t organise that better. If you wanna do some sight seeing i recommend using a rental car cause it’s hard to leave the hotel by foot and there was only a bus on top of the cliff, but I don’t know how often it comes. Overall I would recommend the hotel if you have your own car there and if you don’t choose to have dinner there. P.S. another important thing before you leave the hotel is to check the receipts because we got charged for drinks and some diving gear that we didn’t order

The overall hotel is nice, but me and my partner had an awuful experience in the suite bathroom. The shower head was not working properly, always falling into us during shower. There was no glazed partition in the shower, but a textile curtain that I would never expect in a resort like this. When I asked for a new room at the reception it was told that we should pay an extra fee for that. The room is not the one we booked. Be careful.

As an American I would compare this to Marriot Harbor beach FL or any large Miami resorts, obviously more relaxed vibe. It is beautiful, water is clear and turquoise, but might need beach shoes because of little pebbles. Just know that Italian hotels don't have irons in the rooms. You cam get drinks and food on the beach or simply eat by the outdoor restaurant. We went into tropea for dinner. Tropea is about a 15 min car ride...I would book again but for a family of 4 it was so expensive...didn't even pay that at the Fountainblue! I think for 2 people it should be reasonable. I would give 4 stars based on price but the hotel deserves 5.

Definitely the worst hotel I've ever been to. We paid for sea view rooms and got the worst ones where the air conditioning doesn't work. The staff was great but everything else is definitely not worth the money. I definitely don't recommend it.

Best massage ever! Jessica was amazing! Really enjoyable experience, I came in for a 50s minutes relaxing massage today. Cannot recommend enough!!! Thank you so much. You helped me to feel better! highly recommend this place for a good massage

If you want a real life Shining experience, then visit this hotel. Empty hotel with just one restaurant open - no other services/restaurants available anywhere near. This might be due to the early season but still - no options but the hotels expensive restaurant. 4 euros for water?! And not even hotel shop to buy bottles to room. Hotel tries to charge extra out of everything - first they tried to charge for dinner even though we had paid for half board. Then pre-paid rooms tried to be charged, again. Also on room tv it says that spa is included in all rooms but they tried to charge 60 euros for visit. Very bad customer experience.
