The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was amazing and most importantly it's a walking distance to several beautiful sights in the city.

Got a great deal on a room only basis so room was small but that's ok. Breakfast at £15.50 each was decent value as plenty of choice and catered for gluten free. Car parking at £15 per night was fine too. Hotel itself is starting to show its age but reception, main foyer and bar area were really nice. Staff all very friendly, so would stay again.

Beautiful old style Hotel, large rooms and an entrance from an elegant age, simply beautiful. Real class, only had the one night, but in Cardiff and I will stay again. Staff were friendly and helpful 🙂

The hotel is just opposite the castle, and the location is very convenient. It is not too far from shopping or the various attractions in Cardiff. The room is very clean and the facilities are relatively complete.

It's very close to the castle, just outside the city wall. You can get a glimpse of the city from the breakfast dining area. The room is quite spacious, but the wardrobe door and the hot water kettle are a bit old. The wardrobe door cannot be kept open and the hot water kettle looks like a product from the last century. But the overall accommodation experience is pretty good. At this price and location, I think it's worth it.

The curtains are mouldy. The rooms are not small but the facilities are old. I'm really sorry for the price. The lobby is beautiful and the rooms are average. It's no different from a chain hotel, but it's a lot more expensive.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff, on-site parking £15 convenient for us. Fantastic views over the castle and animal walls. Excellent value for money and beautiful and large en-suite twin room. Would definitely stay again, also a bar and restaurant on site. Busy exploring Bari Island and Cardiff city so didn’t have time to review the restaurant but menus looked good.

Friendly staff, clean and spacious room, very nice breakfast. The car park isn't massive and we missed getting a space, so just beware if you are banking on close by or free parking. Overall, enjoyed our stay.

The room was lovely but the noise from traffic outside from 5am woke me up, could hear people in room next door taking and also their tv, Had a meal in the restaurant which wasn’t as expected, overcooked lamb, fries with steak, ( which was unevenly cooked ) instead of chunky chips as they had run out but was not advised on ordering. It did not give us confidence to order a pudding!

Great location in city centre and only 10 mins from central station. Hotel was good and friendly staff. Hotel is slightly dated but all in all very good

This was a great place to stay for the rugby in Cardiff and a bit of shopping. Very convenient, lovely staff.

Before I placed my booking I had phoned the hotel to check about parking etc as both my husband and I are waling disabled (although we cannot walk very far without needing to take a break, and explained this to the person on the phone), and was told that they had parking at the back of the hotel. Based on this info I placed my booking. However, upon arriving, the parking area at the back of the hotel is a public car park and is very small, probably only enough for about 20 cars, and does not belong to the hotel. The hotel does not have its own car park, and there is no entry to the hotel from the car park either, you would have to walk around the outside of the hotel and into the entrance which we would not have been able to do. Because the car park was full, I phoned the hotel to find if there was anywhere where we could park as we would not be able to walk very far. Luckily for us, I spoke with a receptionist called Joey (I think that was his name), who said we may be able to park in Cardiff Arms Park which is on the opposite side from the hotel entrance. Thankfully we were able to park in there as there was a game on, however to park overnight did cost £18, but we were only staying the one night. Upon entry to the hotel, Joey was very helpful and booked us in. The room itself was very clean, but was quite walm and we couldn't find any air con but we were able to open the windows a little but which is unusual nowadays in many hotels.

Stayed at Angel for one night when visiting Cardiff. Amazing location if you’re at an event at the Principality. All the staff were super friendly and helpful, check in/out was easy, breakfast was lovely with good choice and all allergens clearly labelled (I’m Gluten free) with GF toast and cereal provided too. The bedroom on 3rd floor had a lovely view of the castle and was tucked away so very quiet. The bed was super comfy and bedroom was clean. The only reason for dropping a star is because the hotel is showing signs of wear and tear but nothing that affected our stay at all and as mentioned is was very clean! Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

Amazing service and staff were fantastic! Room was comfortable, quite modern! No usb points in room, tv remote didnt work, no wifi room 222! Everything else excellent! Please renew the corridor carpets and paint, it looks so dated and old! Breakfast was great, parking right next to hotel was great 👍
