I arrived at the hotel late, close to 9pm, in the pouring rain, walking over from the train station with bags on cobblestone streets. On Google maps, the distance looks manageable but in wet weather and the dark, I had second thoughts.
Nonetheless, the service and room standards made up for everything. They managed to fix me a room service dinner past 10pm, and it was really good lamb shanks on mashed potatoes. The bed was comfortable, the sheets were clean and I just sank into the best sleep of my whole work trip. The hot water pressure was strong.
I went down for a super early breakfast the next morning, and the service staff at the breakfast stations were super friendly. The spread was a veritable feast, and they explained what black pudding was - I actually enjoyed it. There were vegetarian options available and the coffee machine dispensed really good cappuccino.
One thing to mention was the wifi in the room. I had to do a business video call for an hour and I lost connection twice. I suppose the bandwidth was not designed for long video calls, so guests may want to prepare back-up connection if they need internet for work.

The Positives! Reception was very friendly and extremely helpful, allowing us to check in well before 3pm. Both ladies from house keeping that I came across could not have been more helpful. Restaurant staff were pleasant, efficient and served well cooked food that was nicely presented by the chef. The bedroom was spacious with a comfortable bed and well equipped bathroom. I was impressed by the inclusion of a table and chairs to sit at with a drink whilst watching the good sized television. The negatives1 Torn wallpaper and marks on the wall. Although on the third floor you can't sleep with a window open for all the traffic noise below. To the credit of the hotel they are hosting families from Ukraine but this causes its own problems. We were the only non-Ukraine guests using the restaurant on our first night and had our peace disturbed by the children being allowed to run around making a noise in the adjoining foyer. As the children need to get to school they have an early breakfast so consequently we arrived at 8.30 to find all the fruit salad and croissants gone. There was only one glass left for fruit juice and all the bread for toast had been eaten. This is a simple matter of logistics which the hotel should be addressing. Finally, due to a no smoking policy the Ukraine adults gathered in small groups outside the entrance to smoke which not only created a poor image but they were reluctant to move, requiring other guests to walk around or through them!

The housing environment is satisfactory, but the streets are full of slippery dead leaves that are not cleaned and can easily cause slips.
Satisfied with overall service
Satisfactory indoor hygiene
The facilities are complete, but there are many scratches on the inner wall of the frying pan and should be replaced. The TV remote control may not be usable without power.
Great location. Lobby area nice and a good breakfast. BUT Our room was on Level 5 and it desperately needed updating plus a deep clean. It faced outwards and caught the sun in the afternoon so it was really warm at night and all we had was a small desk fan wafting warm air around. We couldn’t leave the window open as it was far too noisy outside and I was still woken up every morning at 5am by bin lorries and loud bangs with the window closed. No courtesy bottle of water in the room but apparently you’re safe to drink the water from the bathroom tap! I got such a lengthy patronising talk from what I presume was the manager for asking if we could have a bottle of water after seeing a box of them on reception! Most members of staff were friendly but he was just irritating. At checkout I wasn’t even asked how our stay was and I would’ve liked to reiterate how awful the room was I had told a previous staff person on the first day and I was told they were so busy and fully occupied they don’t have time to update and maintain rooms?!? Very odd response to me but I didn’t want to do prolong the debate. I just found it all really disappointing and for that reason will not be staying there again.
Budget hotel very close to Cardiff Central. Not many amenities, but then again, you get what you paid. All in all, I think I would reuse it if I had to go back to Cardiff.
Stayed one night. Not sure if because of renovation, the reception area wasn't very welcoming, pretty much self check-in set up but staffed too. Busy hotel, popular pool, gym, need to wait your turn for sauna & steam room but Impressed with facilities. Room service food was basic. The room definitely need updating and shower pressure not great. Overall fine though, would stay again.
Everything was excellent. Great welcome by Karl. Useful local tips. Spacious room. Quiet neighbourhood. Great parking. Superb breakfast.
This hotel offers has an uniqueness, which we thoroughly enjoyed including the lounge / library area. Nice broad selection of books available as well.

GGuest UserI just stayed here with my son, my friend and her daughter and we had such a pleasant stay. The Caerphilly Suite was spotless and each bedroom was cosy and spacious. I'm not sure how the sofa bed was supposed to work but it didn't matter to us, we were happy to just use the beds which are SO comfortable! The suite was equipped with a fridge, a microwave, plates, cutlery, mugs, glasses, a selection of teas and snacks and a complimentary fresh milk in the fridge! The bathroom was sparkling with lovely clean towels, toiletries to use and despite being in the centre of Cardiff, not a single noise bothered us from outside all night - we all slept very soundly. Even the room temperature seemed to be perfectly planned - none of us were ever too hot or too cold!! Oh and last but not least, the WiFi works brilliantly! Steve was very friendly and helpful, especially as we had some miscommunication with our booking. I would not hesitate in recommending Inn Cardiff and I will most definitely stay here again. It's the perfect location - a stone's throw from Bute and the centre. Thank you for an excellent stay!
I stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting family and I can't complain. The staff were amazing, Simona was incredibly accommodating and picked me an amazing meal on my first night because I couldn't decide what to have. The room is exactly what I needed, clean, comfortable and very reasonably priced for 2 nights. It's not luxurious, but who needs that? I don't go away to spend my time in a hotel room. I will definitely stay again, and recommended it to all of my friends in case they have visitors in Cardiff too. Thankyou.
AAnonymous UserNice and spacious. Check in and out were very simple and easy. I love everything about it. Very close to city center and within walking distance. Worth every penny spent on it. Would recommend it to anyone
GGuest UserThe staff who I phoned on arrival was brilliant as I don't come from Cardiff, I came from London and thr lady stayed on phone with me telling me where to go and park ect. Parking is terrible as no parking on site so you have to park at NCP multi story car park which would of cost £19.99 per night but luckily I had family near by so I parked else where. My hotel room was not clean as in walls were dirty and tea stains. Thr bed was nice tho and was clean. The shower rim at bottom was held on with black tape and what I payed was not worth it at all. Iv paid the same amount for different hotels and was so much better. This this was very disappointing so much. Hat to pick keys up from the chicken shop next door. Thr stairs where very worn out and looking shabby and the stairs so steep and alot of them and with asthma problems I didn't really go out due to this. I can fault the staff tho as had problems with my remote which they sorted straight away and was so lovely so thr staff made it nice but thr hotel it self needs a big refurbishment. I won't be staying here again.

Cardiff Castle
MMel2024An amazing castle and visiting the grounds was a treat. Full of history and going through the surroundings, it wasn't repetitive and not boring at all. I absolutely loved it and it's was very interesting. I love the Arab Room and the war shelters.
Reasonable priced tickets compared to the Royal castle prices.
I highly recommend this visit for all ages.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
I love Cardiff. It's so refreshing compared to London.
Cardiff Bay
AAK520Cardiff Bay is very easy to go. It is very closed to Cardiff Central Station. You can take the bus or walk 30 mins from central station. It is free to visit, of course, and the scenary there is fantastic. You can spend a few hours there, no doubt. Take lots of pictures there. There are a lot of shops and restaurant and coffee shop there. So once you are tired, you can grab a coffee there, by sitting next to the seashore, enjoying the coffee and the sea at the same time. Different kinds of pubs and restaurant there, from high class to family restaurant. There are also a few historical buildings there, and there is a modern exhibition center there. The design of its outlook is so high tech, you definitely will fall in love with it.
National Museum Cardiff
MM43***62Pleasant enough way to spend a couple of hours. Went primarily to see the paintings but (and of course this is entirely a matter of personal taste) there wasnt a lot to rock my boat and not a lot of range. Some of the pottery was quite interesting but could have been better displayed. The natural history section on the ground floor was rather more interesting than expected- not too "dry"
Bute Park
RRoadmanLocation: North Road, CardiffVery large park near Cardiff castle. you can rent a bike and go around. This place is lovely for a walk, run or to have a bike ride. it’s a very relaxing and peaceful park.
Roath Park
1137***66Roath Park is a park with a large lake. The highlight is that you can see the white swan. You can buy special food from the staff to feed the white swan. You can also take a boat trip to the lake. It is very good. There is a lawn in the park.
Museum of Cardiff
MM43***62You really need sufficient time to visit this museum. It sets the story of their early beginnings right through to their fame.I had 1.5hrs and that still was not enough. Absolutely brilliant.
Castle Quarter Arcades
1137***66I came to Castle Arcade at noon to avoid the sun. It was very cool! The air conditioning was strong. It was very pleasant to visit the shops one after another. The building itself was also worth visiting. It was exquisite and luxurious. The dome design was particularly great. It was worth visiting~
St. Fagans National Museum of History
DDaniel in ShenzhenFor a history lover, this is a wonderful place to visit. The people working here know their history and want to share that knowledge. It is mostly outdoors so try to go when it's not raining.
