The room environment and facilities are great. If you bring your children to Legoland and are tired of playing, choosing to stay here is a good choice

Great and easy to book via trip.com. Good property but it’s a resort thus there’s resort fee and check out is subject to availability despite Bonvoy membership. Also note that we booked breakfast with the room but turned out we only have a daily breakfast credit of $44 which doesn’t quite make sense to us. Average single breakfast item on the menu is like $15-$18 and excludes coffee or drinks. Still need to top up at the end. Not great on that point. Otherwise great stay!

Our family decided to stay here for our 3 yr olds birthday because of the private entrance to Legoland. I’m so glad we did! Our room was really nice, the beds were super comfortable, as always, and our daughter enjoyed splashing around at the pool, on the Sheraton side. We really enjoyed ourselves, and all the great amenities. We’re definitely coming back, without the toddler lol.

Stayed at the Westin for 5 nights while attending an onsite conference. My stay started off on the wrong foot as my room wasn’t ready at check in and it was after 4 PM. I was offered a thin apology and was told they would text me when the room was ready. I was also told I could enjoy the pool and amenities. Really? I just arrived after 6 hours of flying, I'm a businessman, traveling by myself, I’m not using the pool while I wait for my room. It would have been nice to have a complementary drink at the bar while I waited or an offer of some Bonvoy points. I walked the long way back to my car and left only to receive a text message about 15 minutes later that my room was now ready. Upon return there was now a line of guests waiting to check in with only a single employee working the front desk. This was unacceptable given it was a Saturday night and check in was slow. Also, my room keys nor my breakfast coupons were not ready and he had to hand write my name and date on each of the 5 breakfast coupons. These things should have already been done. As other’s have mentioned, the layout of the property is strange. My room was in the Grand View building. I had to walk past the pool, take the elevator up one level, walk a long hallway, past an outdoor courtyard, enter back into the building (can only do this on the first floor), and take another elevator up one floor to my room. Both elevators are very slow. My conference was in the conference center which was back upfront to the right of the main resort entrance. So, another long walk from the room to the conference center. There are no shortcuts for any of these walks. Guests should also know there’s nothing in the immediate area so if you don’t have a car you are stuck with the resort restaurants. A few positive notes; the room was very large, well appointed, and with an okay view and was quiet. The Bonvoy breakfast amenity was appropriately applied and added value and the breakfast in the restaurant was excellent and service was great. This resort would make a great base for visiting Legoland but I can't recommend it for much else.

A quick holiday weekend stay was taken to another level by Taryn and Sydney, who couldn't have made our time there feel more warm, welcoming and truly a notch above. They were so wonderful with our 4 year old in a way that made us want to return just for their hospitality alone. The facilities were nice and breakfast at the on site restaurant was solid as well.

Very nice secluded hotel, across from Legoland (but I was there on business, didn't go). The hotel has a nice pool and everything is very clean. The on site restaurant is nice, though very expensive. We were promised a room with 2 queens the day before we arrived, but there was no record of that promise and were given a King bed room, with no other rooms available. If you don't want to walk half a mile to your room and have to take 2 different elevators to 2 different floors (very odd lay out), ask for a room closer to the main entrance. For those reasons, I gave it 4 stars. Our room did have a great view of the ocean, it was just a very long, confusing route to get back to the room after dinner.

This hotel is one of our favorites to stay at. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are modern and updated. The pools are awesome and the restaurants on site are really good! The staff all around is very friendly and helpful. This is our hotel of choice when in Carlsbad.

Just finished up a 2 day stay here with my kids. I used points and my Marriott suite upgrades which helped us get a suite on the first floor near the front of building. My wife and kids spent the day at Lego Land/the pools while I worked remotely from the room. Positives: +Close to legoland and its a quick walk to the park. +you can access 2 pools: one at the westin and one at the Sheraton next door. The Sheraton has a water slide and is more fun for the kids while the Weston one is quieter and better for adults. +Staff are nice and for the most part helpful. +Breakfast at the restaurant has a reasonably priced kids menu. +Costco is close by. Not so good: -They charge a hefty resort fee but the grounds (especially the pool area and outdoor sitting areas between the lobby and pool) were dirty. I observed this on two of our three days. Nothing frustrates me more when taking kids to the pool only to find food scraps and trash leftover from previous guests. Basically every chaise lounge was either occupied or dirty. I got bit by a few ants who were likely attracted to the trash. Over the course of sitting at the pool for a few hours on Sunday afternoon I never once saw anyone picking things up. The next morning I also noticed a ton of trash and food left out in the area between the pool and lobby- which was where i wanted to sit with my daughter and wait for my wife finish breakfast. It was around 830am and I would expect someone to have cleaned up from the previews night by then. This time I actually msg'd the front desk to send someone out to clean. Why do you charge a $35 resort fee and then fail to keep the place clean? Seems wrong in my mind. -Our room wasnt ready until around 430 on checkin date which was 30 mins after the posted checkin time. -I asked for house keeping service when I checked in, however, I ended up having to remind them since after 4pm- no one had shown up (i was working in the room). -In my 10 years of being a platinum member or higher i've never once been denied a 4pm (or even later) checkout when I needed it. This time I had to be out by 2pm which resulted in having to work for 1.5 hours finishing my meetings in the hotel lobby. -Hefty parking fee when there is literally vacant land all around. -No elite lounge. Overall I didnt think Westin was bad or horrible... but a little rough around the edges.

I had a wonderful stay at The Westin in Carlsbad. The pool area is a standout feature—spacious, beautifully designed, and perfect for relaxation. The service was good, making for a memorable stay. Highly recommend! Enjoyed my stay would stay again
