This boutique hotel is an absolute delight. Excellent location, clean, excellent service and superb breakfast. We were visiting Tunisia for the first time. It was quite a little haven away from the hustle and bustle. Beautiful views from the garden and perfect for photographs. We enjoyed the garden(which had olive and orange trees), the pool area (swimming pool was not heated so quite cool) where we ordered beer or cafe au laits. I also utilized the living room area to conduct some business where you can help yourself to some mint tea. The staff was lovely, especially Miriam at the desk and Ibrahim who helped with everything from our luggage to serving us coffee. We were in room 22 which was a beautiful room but if you want a more quiet location I would ask for one further in the back. Our window opened up to the minaret (local mosque) which called to prayer 5 times a day from the loudspeaker. I find it meditative but if you don't want to be awaken at sunrise choose a different room. They also offer massage and spa treatments. We were too busy to use that service but we did have our laundry done at an affordable price. I would say the only drawback would be for those with mobility issues but the entire town of Sidi Bou Said would be difficult in a wheelchair unfortunately. The village is atop a big hill with cobbled stoned streets and alleys. We loved our stay and highly recommend.

I had previously reviewed the Dar Fatma after my stay in March 2020, when I was trapped in Tunisia for a spell by cascading Covid closures. (It turns out I was the inn's last guest for an entire year.) Three years later, I have returned, now with my wife, under far less stressful circumstances. And it proved even more charming the second time around. There was, however, one snafu: We arrived in the evening, and the overnight staffer had no knowledge we were coming. I whipped out my cell phone to show him my exchange of email messages with the owner five months before, which set off a flurry of phone calls. Bottom line: The room I had reserved, with a (narrow) view to the sea, was occupied, but they did still have available a room with no windows to the outside at all, and that is where we spent our first night. The next morning we were shuffled upstairs to a less claustrophobic room, and my wife could begin to enjoy her stay. Moral of this particular story: before setting out on your trip, it never hurts to take a minute to reconfirm all your hotel reservations, especially if you made them by email. So, to cite the old American saw: ”Aside from THAT, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?” Indeed, aside from the initial confusion about our staying, this play was wonderful. This being off season, we were able to find places just a 2-minute walk away where we could leave our rented car. (Advice: it's best to leave one's car on Rue Taieb Mhiri close to the lighthouse and the panoramic overlook, where you have space to turn around and head out without having to creep, zig-zagging down through the town, to make your way out.) The morning breakfast spread, served by the cheerful Salwa, is varied and tasty. Salwa was also a source of practical advice -- most importantly, in scuttling our plan to take a day to go into Tunis to visit the Bardo Museum. (She warned us it was closed -- apparently a casualty of the president's coup against parliament.) That left us with an unanticipated day at leisure, which we could partially fill by stretching out on Dar Fatma's roof in the early spring sun, reading and watching the pigeons come sip water at the wading pool. Even in the claustrophobic first-night room (named ”Adel”) and certainly in our ”mezzanine” room, ”Lea,” up the narrow winding staircase to the next corridor of rooms and then the rooftop, there was good WiFi and a very good shower. Each room also had a writing desk equipped with convenient electrical connections for a laptop computer. Thanks to Aziza, the rooms are kept clean and well-ordered each day. From the moment one enters through the small carved from the larger one, the Dar Fatma (:house of Fatima”) reeks of North African character and charm. For all this, the price is reasonable, at least off-season: US$90 a night for a double room and breakfast. The owners, Hatem and Hana Ben Rhouma, came by to visit us on our last night, perhaps in part to apologize for the rooming snafu on our arrival, but a

I came here for a drink with the intention of staying for dinner. The guard at the door went through my bag and made me leave my bottle of water at the door which was really annoying. You have to take the second lift to get to the rooftop bar. I got there just before 7pm, there was hardly anyone there but the waiter wanted to give me a table at the end of the pool. I asked to sit at a table with a view of the beach instead. I had a strawberry margarita for 19 TND. It came with olives which I sent back as I don't like them and some crisps which I nearly choked on since they were so spicy. I didn't really fancy anything on the menu so since nobody came over to see if I wanted anything as they were too busy chatting, I left about half an hour later and took a taxi down the road to Le Golfe to have dinner there instead.

First of all, just arrived in the room housekeeper seems to knock on the wrong door, and then found a strange hair on the bathroom towel. The bathrobe was all threaded. The cocktail made by the pool was not good, far worse than Radisson blu. The technology needed to be improved on the equipment head. The restaurant on the roof was too dark and the menu could not be seen clearly. The restaurant by the pool is good, the food is very good, w is the leading girl who seems to have no idea what she is doing, led us to a table that is not cleaned up, but there are actually many tables empty. Again, the hotel logo is not very clear, and many guests are constantly looking for their own room. Breakfast is OK. Overall, if measured by the standards of the four seasons, this may be the most embarrassing Four Seasons Hotel I have ever stayed in. By the way, the garden can be taken care of more carefully.

Beautiful hotel. Large rooms, and most aspects of the hotel looks new or recently upgraded. I had a very pleasant stay. Rooms are quiet - I never heard my neighbors. One negative aspect: The lid of the kettle in the room was broken. A very small thing but with everything else new and perfect, this stood out. Also a personal gripe: The beautiful and new shower is enclosed in glass with very little ventilation, which meant that the next morning the floor was still wet. Maybe not important to others, but I didn't like that.

Located centrally in the Tunis souk, my father and I loved our stay. Surrounded by bars, cafes and restaurants, it makes for a great night out. Clean, lavish and traditional hotel operated by a smiling, hard working team. Our room was extremely nice with air condition, a clean bathroom and strong Wi-Fi. The dining area is also well maintained and kitchen staff are super sweet - even serving us extra food without us even asking! The rooftop is also next level, where staff brought us tea and pastries while we enjoyed the sunset over the city. Amazing staff. Amazing hotel.

GGuest UserI went there on my own and I absolutely cannot confirm the previous bad review. This place is a hidden gem. I have never lodged in a place before where it was as calm as here. I could fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the waves without being interrupted by chats or noise from other guests. I thought I was there on my own. You couldn't hear anyone, although there were other guests. Hedi welcomed me very politely and he made me feel at home from the first second of arrival. I felt very at ease and there was no wish unfulfilled. Breakfast was served cold and hot, and every day you got a different surprise of fresh fruits or hot dish, and I loved their delicious fresh orange juice and you got more if you wanted. The room was very clean and I had a fridge, an iron and ironing board in the room. A TV with European and Arabic channels as well, but clearly didn't need this. If I needed any information or recommendation, Hedi provided it. I was able to work there as well, the internet signal is fantastic, and you have connection everywhere you are. The sea view is absolutely stunning. This is definitely pure luxury and even 10 stars worth. Thank you Sidi Hedi!

GGuest UserSuch a beautiful hotel to stay at in Sidi Bou Said! We stayed here two nights in early March in the Ottoman room. Awesome design with seaview as well as over the city. The balcony is great for sunset although we didn't use it too long as it was windy. Service was great and breakfast was quite complete with seasonal Tunisian fruits. We got introduced at breakfast to bsissa, so delicious! The only drawback was that breakfast was identical two days in a row. Location was a bit apart from the main touristical part of Sidi Bou Said but walkable. Good way to exercise after a meal! The park in front of the hotel is a nice spot to admire sunset over the city. Definitely recommended!
