Carvalhal Hotels with Wi-Fi

The hotel is beautiful. Rooms are very clean and well furnished. The staff does a very good work: always available, and welling to provide the best service. The restaurant À La Carte is very good. Thé location is perfect very close to the beach and the marina.

My wife and I were guests of this hotel for 10 days in early November 2023. We were participants of a golf training week initiated by our local golf pro. Our apartment was located in 9.Stock of the building, which has a total of 16 floors. The equipment was very simple, everything in good condition and very clean. There was nothing to make. We were booked as a group with half-pension. The breakfast was okay, nothing special. The dinner was reached as 4-Gange menu. After the pre-food came the fish-course, then meat and then dessert. The portions were more than abundant, sometimes unfortunately somewhat cold, which was probably because the kitchen team was somewhat overloaded with the number of guests (except us groups from Holland and Norway with 20 individuals each). It turned out that there was no vegetables except potatoes. On our suggestion, a kind of Ratatouille was reached next day. On the day afterwards no vegetables were reached. The half-pension also included wine, beer, water, soft drinks and coffee during the meal. The staff was welcome at the exchange. The staff was very friendly - both at the reception and in the restaurant - overall.

Excelente apartamento, por um preço bem razoável. O apartamento tem tudo o que é necessário para passar 5 ou 7 dias. Uma sala ampla com kitchenette, varanda com uma mesa e cadeiras com vista para a marina, televisão por cabo com uma excelente imagem duma TV LG de 55 polegadas OLED. Quarto excelente, cama bem espaçosa, colchão perfeito. Toda a casa tem ar condicionado e WI-FI. Por fim o carro fica estacionado numa espaçosa garagem subterrânea do prédio. Apenas chamo a atenção que a imagem que o sistema coloca destes apartamentos, não corresponde à realidade. O nome correto destes apartamentos é ”Troia Residence - Apartamentos Marina”, situado na rua da Aroeira, na rua da GNR.

Spacious and pleasant apartments, near the small sea, fantastic beach, children's park shown in the images inexistent, timetable of the single supermarket in the resort reduced, weak wifi network, few activities to perform around, as it is a resort could give access to activities in other units such as access to swimming pools. The indoor pool continues to be closed since the pandemic, in its absence, it should be possible to access the other pool of the resort as it happens with breakfast. The beach is the greatest advantage because it is wonderful but for a few days because the complex is very small, good for a relaxing weekend.

Money and credit cards information stolen from room. Awful. Do not go at any cost. My identity was then used on my two of my separate debit cards to make local Uber (Bolt) transactions. This meant they had to use the information on my drivers’ licence as well (home address) to register these two separate cards. A TOTAL invasion of my family’s privacy and respect, and when I asked to see the hotel manager on the Friday night they said no manager was available. I was then promised that a manager would be available to talk to the following morning at 8.30am and still no manager was present which is inexcusable for such a large hotel. The manager made no heartfelt apology whatsoever and even went as far as suggesting I might be mistaken. The transactions were local and the only possible information needed to register my cards was in n my wallet- was his was not online fraud. The only way my cards could have been registered was by using card details and drivers licence. Also money was stolen (€20) from my wallet in my room. No steps made to placate my anger and distress at having to cancel two cards and be left stranded for payment options for the rest of our trip. Paid over €1,000 for five nights and no offer made to at least cover my stolen money. Sheer hospitality ignorance. If I had the time I would have called police and pressed charges, but as it was our travel arrangements had been disrupted enough by this episode. Other issues: - No welcome and no help with luggage - Pool was disgusting (green and murky water, mouldy sides) - Attention to detail poor (two adults and two children and only two bath towels). - Long queues for breakfast which n itself was poor (6/10 at best) Positives: - Charming young Kids Club reps - Room was spacious and good (despite two single beds for my wife and I?!?)

The experience was very pleasant. We had our own parking place in a private underground parking lot, a small garden were to relax when the sun was too hot and a shared pool to enjoy a little swimming. Everything very clean and in line with the COVID-19 pandemic rules. Very thoughtful staff that was always available to solve our queries. The nights were very windy so you better take some warmer clothes if you plan on taking a walk at night. There was also some live music near by.
