Hotels near Salles voutées, Cassis

We had a 2 night stay in early May. The room we were given was at the back of the hotel and was very noisy due to a wine bar situated below the window. On one night they didn’t finish until after 1am. It was necessary to have the window open as the air conditioning was not working. The room decor was strange-partially decorated…new paint on the headboard wall but the doors were very scuffed and needed repainting and the flooring was some form of Lino. The bathroom had also not been touched and was definitely in need of attention. The shower cubical was vey small! However the room was clean and the reception & breakfast area was very nice (good continental breakfast). The location of the hotel improves the rating from 2 to 3 stars!

Location of this Best Western hotel is superb, seconds from the town centre and yet very quiet at night. Breakfast was very good with a great choice, especially if various cheeses and sweet items. Coffee poor though from the digital screen drinks machine. Air con was very effective, we paid extra for a balcony and I would it was worth it. Balconies look out onto the public gardens of the town and a kids play park with nice views to the castle on the hill and the mountains. The room was small, we only had small suitcases, had we had a big suitcase it might have had to have gone out on to the balcony for storage due to limited space. Shower room was also small and quite difficult to get into the shower cubicle. All in all I would definitely use the hotel again, primarily due to location and breakfast.

Reception frankly cold, demoralizing. After booking at the end of March (i.e. 2 months in advance), and having followed all the communication instructions -- I planned the time with 2 updates that Isabelle knows the exact minute of our arrival as she m asked for her to come to meet us, but I had to knock and then wait in front of the front door (locked), then she accused me of coming with 3 people when I didn't reserved only for 2 - it's not true, but she insisted, then made me believe that she was going to ”try to accommodate us” (no, but it's not going at all) - then realized that she was wrong, then accused me of coming with a child without warning (insulting to my daughter-in-law, small but not that much). She tells us that we will not have cleaning services (charged). Cold shower after weeks of maximum stress (CAP Cuisine exams) and a long and tiring day of travel, and the hope of finally arriving in my favorite city and experiencing a little calm, perhaps by the pool , but she was downright mean, resentful, malicious. We didn't even dare to go to the swimming pool for fear of making an unforeseeable mistake like, oh! had to wear a black jersey and not brown, or god knows what. On leaving she collected the keys in fairly heavy rain, but a few moments later I had no way to open the gate because I had not memorized the code having only used the beep on the set of keys . Walked back to reception, locked, no response when I knocked, walked back to car turning in front of gate, when I tel to this one, which only answered after 6 or 7 rings, only to ask me if I didn't remember the code (well, no, indeed), before she decided to open it (she would never have thought before that once the customer had returned the keys that opening the gate will be a minimum, especially when it rains?)

This summer I had the opportunity to visit this wonderful property. Very well locate, with Parking space (vital in summer, by the way!) beautiful view to the main spot of Cassis, warm pool and a very friendly environment. I definably recommend this hotel for your future vacation in France. Maybe a relax after the Olympic Games?

This hotel isnt perfect. It isn't fancy. It isn't state of the art. But if a beautiful pool is your number one concern - this place more than fits the bill! Breakdown... Room: Pros - Nice and spacious, comfortable bed, always kept clean, and a decent sized bathroom to boot . The large balcony is a great option for late night drinks too! Cons - The toilet is in a small cubicle room separate from the bathroom... Which could, err, get a bit smelly given there was no real way to, ahem, air it out. There's also no ironing board or iron in the room, so I had to iron my shirts in their storage/conference room, which wasnt ideal. Hotel: The website pretends the hotel is far fancier than it is, and it's in fact a very relaxed, down to earth kind of scene. Pros - The staff are VERY friendly and kind. So kind in fact, that one of the owners gave us a lift to the train station so we wouldn't miss our train. What a hero! We love him! Every single one also made an effort to speak English with us (far more effort than we did to speak French!) which we were very grateful for. 24 hour reception means there's always someone around to help you out, and we quite enjoyed the key system, designed so that you'll never lose them! Cons- The breakfast set-up was nice and adequate, although I agree with other reviewers that it's lack of hot food makes the price a bit of an eyebrow raiser. Could two people eat for cheaper than 30 euros in Cassis centre? Potentially, but we chose convenience over cost, so can't really complain too much! Pool: The crowning glory of this hotel, and the spot that we and almost every other guest seemed to congregate... Our valhalla! Our Eden! Our little slice of heaven! Pros- The only thing my girlfriend wanted from this holiday was a nice, relaxing pool area with a sun lounger. So I could have wept with joy the first time we walked up the steps to the Royal's secluded pool area. With ample loungers, pretty water features and the perfectly positioned sun trap, we spent every day of our stay here from 10 - 5. As did so many other guests. Cons - A lack of food or bar service just stops it from being perfect. Other reviews from previous years suggest this was usual practice at one point, so not sure what's happened there? Location: Perfect, just an 8 minute walk from the main harbour of Cassis!

If you are going to Provence -don't miss out on a stay at The Address, a Boutique B & B in Cassis . We checked the reviews before we stayed-they were all Five Star & it still exceeded our expectation. It's situation , accomodation & breakfasts are all amazing & if you want a lazy day by the pool it's perfect. Sabine & Eric were great hosts from the moment we arrived-nothing was too much trouble & they made us feel very welcome & at home.

Traveling with adult son, the email hotel needs two single beds, and the answer is ok The result was still a big bed for us, the small balcony of the room was completely covered by trees, the room was small The pool is closed at 3:00pm, and prepare for dinner at night

The hotel website is what made me choose this place for a girls weekend in Cassis and it did not disappoint. It was just as beautiful as the pictures portrayed it. Arnaud’s friendly and efficient welcome was a pleasure. He’d been very responsive also with questions before our arrival. It’s a lovely, peaceful place. The food is great, we enjoyed our dinner and the breakfast were simple but delicious. I will recommend this place highly around me and I am already thinking of booking again for my next Provence get away
