A good stay in a location close to ferry terminal and railway stations. Plenty of restaurants around both on the more expensive sea front or a few streets inland. Bruno & Enzos Pizzeria at €6 a pizza is a great place. Take the cable car up to Monte Faito for stunning views of Vesuvius, Sorrento and Capri. Ferry to Sorrento is €4. Train connections to Pompei and Ercolano. Room clean and spacious, basic continental breakfast. Breakfast view is amazing but seems tour groups get sitting priority. Also be aware that on Friday and Saturday evening there was a function on rooftop bar until 11pm with loud music. Castellammare is nowhere near as pretty as Sorrento but with its proximity to the major attractions and reasonable price its worth considering.

We had a very good experience with this hotel. Situated across the beach, near to the bus station and close to the railway station, the hotel has big, spacious rooms, with all the ammenities needed. The breakfast was great, with a lot of choices, and mostly, the breakfast room was a rooftop with such an amazing view over the sea and vezuvius. Everything was perfect

Good value for money. Amazing location close to the beach and the big marina nearby. It has a decent rooftop too with an amazing view. The rooms are not great but our room was okay for a short stay.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a week-long tour of Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast which we booked through TUI. We were not able to select a hotel ourselves as it was part of the package but we were assured that it was a 4 star hotel, so we weren't too worried. However, on arrival we found the hotel to be in a very run down area and the hotel and neighbouring buildings were covered in scaffolding. The hotel is on a busy/noisy road and the beach on the other side of the road is covered in rubbish. We dubbed the area 'Italy's version of Blackpool'. Inside the hotel the reception and bar area, which are the first areas you see on arrival, look very nice. They are clean and well decorated but there is little atmosphere. The lifts are slow and the carpet on the main staircase is drab, dirty, and ripped in places. What little furnishings there are in the communal staircase and hallway areas is not in keeping with the rest of the hotel which is quite modern. We stayed in a double room with a side view. The window overlooked a scaffolded building and you could see straight into the window of the neighbouring apartments. If you looked diagonally out of the window you could see the seafront but this was quite difficult because one of the curtains was stuck closed so you couldn't open it. The room was very basic, no tea/coffee making facilities, only one chair, a very small fridge, and the double bed was two single beds pushed together. I will say that the blackout shutters were very good and did make the traffic noise considerably quieter, but the aircon was very loud. The holiday details promised "a fully stocked mini bar" but on our first day there were only two bottles of water in there (which were warm because the fridge wasn't turned on) and they were not replenished at all during our stay. We managed to find a nearby supermarket where we could stock up on water and soft drinks. The bathroom was very bright and modern and the shower was good. The bed was made and we had fresh towels every day, except one, but we didn't mind. One guest told us they hadn't had their room cleaned at all for the entire week. The best thing about the hotel is the view of the sunset and Mount Vesuvius from the dining room, and while we were there sunset was always at dinner time which worked out well. However, all the tables in the dining room are set for 8 people and you are forced to share with people you don't know. I'm not sure if it was only because we were on a group tour, but we had to have dinner at a set time every night and after we had been seated on the first night we had to keep those seats for the whole week. The menu was very limited with 3 options available each day. We're vegetarian so it was even more limited for us with only 1 veg option available for each course. You had to choose what you wanted to eat the following day at dinner the day before, and it often felt like the waiters and waitresses were rushing to get the food served and get us
Response from Property: Dear Gemma, first of all thank you for your comment, it was a pleasure to host you in our hotel with the group TUI UK. The hotel is located on the main road of the city of Castellammare, which is the biggest city in the area between Naples and Amalfi Coast. As well it's a strathegic point, because from here you can get easy to the most famous places of the region (Naples, Sorrento, Amalfi). Our hotel has been founded in 1876, it's the oldest hotel of the city and we try to preserve the antiquities like a treasure, as you could have seen the old telephon near the Reception Desk and the hotel architecture that reminds of a cathedral. Normally in our room you find everytime a kettle, in the case you won't, you can of course ask for one, as well for a extra chair and get more informations of our mini bar service, which is only on request and non included in the fare. Our chambermaids provided to clean every room, except the rooms showing the sign 'Do not disturb please'. About dinner, our menu is thought so that every guests could get a meal he appreciates from the starters to the desserts, vegetarian and vegan option are available as well. We think dinner is the best time to get to know people of your group, sharing a good meal and an excellent glass of wine in front of our stunning view over the golf of Naples. Our roof terrace, due to the bad weather, was not accessible, unforrtunately. Anyways, we really thank you so much for your stay and we hope we'll have a new chance with you. Wishing you all the best and a nice weekend, Valentino - Reception Desk

Second stay at this hotel, fantastic base for Sorrento, Pompeii and links to Positano and Amalfi Coast. Beds comfy and gorgeous little rooftop pool and jacuzzi with spectacular views all around. Go up in the cable car (ticket shop by train station) you can do horse riding, swim, yoga or pilates or paragliding, walking or eat and drink at the top. Staff at this hotel make you feel very welcome and looked after us very well. Thanks to Valentino and the rest of the lovely staff you’re a credit to the hotel.

Very nice and clean hotel. Large roms, and we got one in third floor with a view. Moderate breakfast, but excellent breakfast location on Sixth floor overviewing the nopolitanian bay. On the roof in seventh a beautiful sun-bath terrace with a jaccuci.

This hotel has many good features - lovely reception, modern rooftop terrace, great staff and a central location. Downsides are: - poor quality food - no evening entertainment for guests - no specific bar area (can wait ages for a waiter) - only one socket that accepts European to U.K. adapter - rooms were basic - fridges didn’t hold a bottle of wine The hotel is also located in a lively area with many vehicles going back and forth until the early hours. Would I return here? Probably not. It’s not in my opinion a 4 star hotel more likely 3 star.
Response from Property: Hi there, we're sorry that you were disappointed about the points you mentioned. Anyways, we have a bar area on our 7th floor, open from 10am until midnight. Unfortunately, our fridge is small to hold a bottle of wine, but we could still serve a cold bottle wine in the room during the waiters service. Lastly, I would like to thank you for staying by us and for taking your time evaluating our hotel and we will get better our negative points! Kind regards, Valentino

Having stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with my husband I can honestly say how disappointing this hotel is. We arrived to find the building completely covered in scaffolding (although fits the aesthetic of the town- very run down and derelict) Our room was tiny and faced the 'inside courtyard' which looked like an abandoned shaft. The only window we had was an old fashioned shutter. Our first night was the worst night, not knowing there was a private event on the roof top, we was kept awake by what only can be described as a rave until 12.45am. A little prior warning wouldn't have gone amiss. We also couldn't use the roof top terrace due to the private events this hotel ran over our weekend stay. Breakfast was mediocre, a bit of cold meat and cheese, cake and bread not exactly enough to set you up for a days exploring. The bar was ok, drinks were tasty but the surroundings lacked any type of relaxing vibe. For a hotel that was supposedly near enough fully booked it felt empty and cold. Hugely disappointed in what is advertised as a 4 star hotel but is more a 3 star building with a 4 star dining room. If our stay was longer than 3 nights I would've booked a hotel elsewhere. My advice is to pay the extra and stay in Sorrento.
Response from Property: Hello Katie, We are so sorry that your stay by us wasn't like you imagined of. We hope have a new chance to host you again and again, sorry for what happened during your stay. Valentino

This is an excellent hotel. Everywhere is soooo clean. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. The young lady waitresses in the restaurant staff were always smiling and helpful. The reception staff were very good indeed. We were upgraded to a suite and this was an excellent area. The view is fantastic, the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was worth going for. Very good indeed in a beuatiful restaurant with spectacular views. Cant wait to go back.
Response from Property: Dears Paul and Sonja, thank you so much for choosing us during your stay in Naples. We are so happu that wo could helped you with your request! We hope host you again, wishing you a wonderful day! Valentino
