Top class service and food was amazing. Not a bad word to say about the place

Had a very enjoyable stay in the Farnham Estate and Golf Club. The staff were excellent. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. There was a lovely relaxed friendly atmosphere in the hotel and this was down to the wonderful attitude of the staff. We had lovely food in the bar when we arrived and the room was very spacious and clean. We will definitely be back.

I had a fantastic stay in Farnham, George was full on information about the history!!! The room was so beautiful. Breakfast was so delicous!! The only problem was that there was a staff member Mary? who was talking to another staff member and were talking bad about there staff. i feel like it was very unprofessional and shouldn't be talking like this in front of Guests. But everything else was amazing!

The hotel needs a lot of work around the grounds. There is so much potential and the golf resort in particular needs a lot of attention. It’s the first thing you see when you drive up to the hotel and it’s rather underwhelming and disappointing. Everything is there for you to maximise! Put the money into developing the grounds and it will pay off big time! The hotel is lovely and the food was very good but remember, first impressions last when you first arrive at a place. Such a beautiful setting but it’s not been nurtured enough as yet. You can do it Farnham Estate owners!!

Lovely hotel with beautiful rooms and very Friendly staff.

Absolutely had an amazing time here. Just back and loved every minute of it. We had such lovely care and treatments in the spa and the spa is second to none. I’ve lived all over the world and couldn’t recommend this enough. The tree restaurants were really nice and choices were great. Breakfast service we had the same lady 3 days in a row. She was so friendly and made us so welcome.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights to attend a family wedding. Check-in was effortless and we headed to our suite. Suite was stunning, absolutely massive and with an extremely comfortable bed. Suite was very bright and had a great view over the gardens. Breakfast in Maxwells was delicious, food was of a high quality and plenty of choice. Omelets made to order and ever delicious pancakes. We used the swimming pool and had treatments in the Spa, both were fantastic. This really is a fantastic Hotel, extensive grounds, golf course and lovely Spa. But the best is the level of service. The Management should be very proud Of the training levels for staff. Always a “morning” or a quick chat and a smile. The wedding was held in the Conference Wing, a separate wing of the Hotel. Again, a massive success. The reception area was beautiful with fantastic food and again a very high level of service. Dovile and her team should be very proud of what they have achieved. None of the wedding guests had a negative comment on the day, indeed some said it was the best ever. A special thanks to Shauna, Patrick and the mighty Dovile for a fantastic occasion

We had a lovely two night stay for my birthday, and we would certainly go back, and we would recommend the hotel to others. So why not five stars? Well, we just want to offer some constructive feedback to the hotel, with the best possible intentions. 1. The lobby bar is somewhat spartan and lacking in ambiance. The young staff are eager to please, but forgot our wine order, didn’t bring any condiments until asked, and omitted the promised blue cheese dressing from my order of chicken wings. Why was it necessary to ask for the wine list? OK, not major problems, but disappointing on the first evening of what we hoped would be a five-star experience. 2. The spa is excellent, with a brilliant indoor/outdoor pool and lovely thermal suite. 3. Breakfast buffet very good, lots to choose from and very friendly staff. Mary gave us great directions to Cavan Garden Centre. 4. The basement bar is nice but why is there a large TV permanently tuned to football or Sky Sports? Not a great environment for pre-dinner apéros, but we had a pleasant chat with the barman on the evening when there was no live football. 5. Maxwell’s restaurant is a very typical hotel dining experience. Sparsely furnished, no nice tablecloths or even a candle or table lamp. Food is OK, but lacking a bit of flair. It’s not a “restaurant”. Feels a bit like a conveyor belt, with staff who are young and eager, but who aren’t really invested in the whole experience. 6. Our patio room was lovely, bed very comfortable and bathroom very nice. So overall, we had a nice stay. However, it didn’t quite feel like the luxury country house hotel experience we were hoping for. Fairly efficient, but lacking that certain something that would have made our stay seem “special”. But to be fair, it’s good value, so now we know what to expect, we will go back, particularly to enjoy the spa.
