Staff refuses to respect 2 small no smoking areas. There was a time when we were very happy with most aspects of this hotel. There is a designated "smoking area" for staff, but they continue to use the small no smoking section as a place to smoke, near children, near non smokers, even near cancer survivors like my wife. I personally spoke to the staff in: - January 2023 at the reception desk - January 2024 I spoke to a tall woman from customer service regarding the issue and she lit a cigarette up while I was complaining. - April 2024 I expressed my concerns again with reception, customer service, and members of the management team. - May 2024 a member of the management team messaged me in Canada asking if I could purchase 20 NO SMOKING signs . I was happy to help. - June 2024 we delivered 20 aluminum NO SMOKING signs to the hotel along with some additional items for maintenance staff. We donated the things to the hotel for free thinking it was an investment in future vacations. I have been told senior management doesn't want the signs installed. It has become clear that a select few staff and managers have no respect for the guests. The staff's attitude encourages the guests to sit and smoke in the non smoking area. Statistics show that LESS than 12% of Canadians smoke and more than 88% are non smokers. I wonder how many guest's would be here if management worked as hard at pleasing 88% instead of 12% ? The beach would look cleaner. Staff wouldn't work as hard cleaning ashtrays or cleaning old cigarette butt's out of the cup holders on pool chairs. THE WOMAN IN THE RED DRESS SITS RIGHT UNDER A NO SMOKING SIGN MULTIPLE TIMES EACH DAY SHE WORKS. Look close and you can see the cloud of smoke around her head .

We just returned home from our 7th trip to Playa Paraiso so obviously we love the place. It was slow season so of course the selection of food wasn’t as plentiful as usual but thanks to the wonderful chefs they have, we had lots to eat and it was all delicious. The entertainment team at Playa Parasio never ceases to amaze me. These people work from early morning until late at night and I can’t believe the energy they have. They are the very best of the best! You can be guaranteed that they will go out of their way to make sure everyone is having a good time! Thank you Daniela, Yesmely, Saul, Dari, Rafael, Calderon, Breno, Yainel, Araimi, Yelixa and Robert. You will never find better customer service than here. Thank you Ernesto, Rachel and Annelys for always taking such good care of us. Dayana at the front desk is always smiling so helpful. My wonderful cafe con leche was always waiting for me from my beautiful ladies in the lobby bar. Gracias Yidsi, Ailen and Lidianny. And of course the wonderful gentlemen, Tito, Daniel and Marcos always serving up drinks with a smile. A huge thank you to Yordanis for once again making our reservations perfect. We’ve never been disappointed! You will not find a more pristine pool in all of the Caribbean, thanks to Abdel and all the hard work and dedication he puts into it. We always have so much fun at that pool thanks to the pool bar staff Dani and Carlos. We love the snackbar here. Elianys, Roberto and Luis, thank you. Our rooms were always freshly cleaned and decorated every day thanks to our lovely housekeeper Diliday. I wish I could name each and every one of one of the staff here because they are all truly the most wonderful people ever. Thank you all. We hope to be back soon Playa Paraiso.

Monday June 17 2024 Wow what a selection in the buffet tonight. Team Playa Paraiso always does a great job. Everything from lobster, ham, portobello mushrooms, fresh baked breads. Oh my what a selection of desserts , even ice cream. As always housekeepering makes you feel right at home in your room.

I was expecting food shortage but they were plenty of food. I was hoping I can reduce weight on this trip. Lol. I like fish and I had fish everyday. There was pork, chicken and beef dishes everyday. I had omelette every morning. Coffee was weak. But I drank a cup of Expresso at the bar before breakfast. I especially like the Catamaran. 25 mins free ride with a captain. The next day we went on snorkeling. Can $25 per person for 1.5 hours. We had plenty of time snorkeling. We brought bread and colorful fish came in dozens for the bread. We also enjoyed the free kayak and paddle boat. There were Standup Sail but we didn't know how. There are activities all day and show time at night. We took a bus from the hotel to Playa Pillar, a public beach, for U.S.$5 per person. There was free washroom where you can change. You can also rent a beach chair for U.S. $5. The beach was just a little bit better than the hotel. They did have sea weeds but was cleared manually. I didn't see any sea **** in Playa Paraiso. There were no rocks too. The hotels on both sides of Paraiso had rocks and sea weeds. I will come again for sure.

Spent a beautiful week at this hotel. The beach is amazing, the hotel is well maintained, the staff is incredible and how to forget the entertainment team. They made our week at the hotel very fun: lots of activities and dancing! Special mention to Rafael, Breno and Yelixa, they are very great!
