From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a sense of warmth and hospitality that set the tone for our entire stay. Everywhere we looked, from the rooms to the common areas, was maintained with pristine care, allowing us to relax without any worries. The service provided by the staff was truly exceptional. Moreover, the value for money was notable. I loved how responsive the hotel was when i requested for my friend to be added as a guest. The people at the reception were helpful and courteous. The room itself was spacious and clean. I see reviews about the rooms not having an aircon that can cool the room, it only took me a few adjustment and it got cold, the controls were just confusing. What I liked the most was that the breakfast was available all throughout the day so my friend who was partying a lot at night was happy to hear he could still have ”breakfast” in the afternoon haha.

Amazing spa service with amazing result for lobby. Look Sunset bar was strategically located next to the swimming pool and the infinity view of the ocean. Dinner buffet was surprisingly romantic, situated in the garden next to the bay front left the ambience however, they need to consider to pack their table and chair later not when the guest are still having their dinner so attitude was great everyone’s greeting you and treating you l with friendly and welcoming attitude:From the front doorman to the kitchen stuff you met at the corridor. Since Ball is the heart of energy after 8 pm with the set up of pool, table, darts and acoustic band at the night, the other part of the result were quiet and not so happening .. the room facing sea with amazing view come with the one chair balcony which supposed to be 2. there’s a tiny bit of smell on the right side bed if you’re sleeping there close to the wall of the bathroom.

This is a fantastic journey! Highly recommend! Shangri-la is the best hotel in cebu All staffs are very friendly and enthusiastic！ The service is so sweet . Although our flight are delayed , the staff still wait us in the airport for 1 hours and pick up us quickly by their car. The room is so tidy and comfy , the view is amazing!

This visit to Marco Polo truly saddened me. If you read some of my past reviews of this hotel I noted it was my favorite place to stay anywhere in the world. This was my first post Covid visit and I was shocked and disappointed. - Basic maintenance has not been completed. For example, there is a glass elevator that goes to Blu their rooftop restaurant. This elevator was out of order and when I asked why I was told “Covid.” Covid travel restrictions were lifted a long time ago and that’s no excuse. In a second example, we returned to our room after a long night and the key did not work. It turned out the battery in the electronic device on the door needed to be replaced and the front desk understand the issue immediately, so this must happen often. Good hotels replace these batteries on a schedule so the guests never suffer from dead batteries. - Service, which used to be outstanding?@, is now unacceptable. First, the English language skills of most employees we encountered were sub par. Second, the person who checked me in was being trained, so the check in process was very slow. Third, service at the poolside bar during lunch was slow, the waitstaff inattentive and they failed to include my banana shake on the bill so as we are leaving the grab us and give us a second bill to pay. Fourth, service at breakfast was terrible. I had to ask for black tea three times before I got it, seeking some out 3 times as no one ever came to check on us. When we arrived around 9 AM there was no bacon (later replenished with bacon that looked so bad I did not even try it, fatty and not crisp), there was 1 banana, which was never replenished, there were no juice glasses (later replenished). The food quality was adequate but not nearly up to pre-Covid standards. Overall the service was lacking. - I was also disappointed that the lobby lounge, which used to have live music every night now has piano music only and only 1 night per week I am told. - There was a cart of dirty linens in our hallway both days Some of these things are not expensive or hard to fix. It doesn’t cost a lot to have live music in the lounge nightly as there are lots of singers groups looking for opportunities. It doesn’t cost a lot to make sure you change door card batteries regularly Others are basic requirements if doing business. For example you don’t leave a glass elevator to one of the most expensive restaurants in Cebu out of order for month/years. I am purchasing a condo unit in Marco Polo residences and expected to regularly visit the hotel for meals/drinks, but if this is the quality and service we can expect, then I will not be utilizing their services.

I always check in this hotel everytime I have to pass by cebu for travel lay over, thus is my second favorite to Bayfront, clean big bed comfortable blanket and pillows wide hall way and refrigerator although my disappointment this time is that they remove the kittle in the room for a hot water for coffee drinker and tea. As of now they just installed a water despenser at the end of the hallway of which is very discomfort to walk a long hallway just to get a hot water. I wish they have one available to borrow or rent in the room service as not all costumer want to drink coffee in the morning. This hotel is considered 4 star although I dont understand why they just remove the kittle in every room. they have a breakfast that is 600 pesos per head it is good quality and excellent selection for asian, european and american food. were actually coming back this coming may together with my sister and inlaw I would probably going to somewhere else instead. Bath room is quite smaller than other room as they devided in 3 parts shower, sink and toilet, they have very strong water supply and hot water is unlimited.

My sisters and I had a very relaxing stay. The amenities and services are great. Will come back again on my next trip to Cebu.

Me and my friend stayed at mad monkey for 5 days which was far too long but we didn’t know when we booked that there wasn’t much to do. When we arrived we didn’t get the most friendly welcome from reception we didn’t get told about any events going on in the hostel or any trips that the hostel were offering We found the room was quite dirty and very loud on the road side. The air con made the loudest noises and half the time it was hot. The room smelt very mouldy and damp. The floors looked like they haven’t been cleaned for months especially looking under the beds. The walls were cracked and the paints hanging of the walls. No one cleaned the room in 5 days but we did get toilet roll delivery’s. We found it quite hard to chill near the pool as there wasn’t any comfy chairs and it was a greenhouse in there and soo hot we couldn’t sit there for long. It’s all enclosed and we was told on a very occasions that they couldn’t turn on the aircon. We was pretty disappointed with the food prices(the food was nice) although the pizza doughs were a bit undercooked they were so expensive to say it’s a hostel with backpackers on a budget staying there. For 2 meals it cost us £15. And we spent £3 getting a can of red bull which would cost less in England. We wanted to join in on the beer pong one night and we was told we wasn’t aloud to play if we didn’t buy a bucket of beer which was a big of a money making scheme really so we didn’t end up playing and we didn’t want to drink that night to save on money. Everyone should be able to play as some people don’t drink alcohol. We enjoyed to music quiz we found that was a good laugh. The music was very good in the bar and the dj was great. We also found out you couldn’t buy bottled water which was disappointing so we went to the shop to get bottles. They only have one water dispenser in the full building which is very inconvenient and should have one on every floor. we thought the monkey punch was great and did get you drunk with the free shots. Our only recommendation is that you do this promotion later as 7-8 is still quite early if you don’t go out till 12. Overall wasn’t the best and wouldn’t recommend for backpackers on a budget.

The hotel is old but it still has a lot of value for its price especially if you are on a limited budget. The staff are very friendly and accommodating to my request like ironing equipment. The location of the hotel is also its advantage since it is very accessible and taxis are plenty at any time of the day.
