Leopardsong Manor

Brief overnight stay before driving to safari - very clean, friendly and excellent room (large deep soak bath behind bed, nice balcony, comfortable bed - only possible negative for some, the toilet is in the bedroom within a frosted glass shower enclosure - so you need to be comfortable with whoever you share the room. Reservation re location, most people seem to drive to the restaurant / country club - where we prefer to walk. Located in high security gated estate with free parking.

The hotel has an adorable maroccan style and is located in a very safe area of Centurion. The staff was adorable and so helpful to explain and giving direction. Was lovely that once I’ve back in the room after dinner they prepared my bed for bedtime, opened the heater and left me the dental kit a long with a nice small chocolate block. Breakfast as well was very delicious and served at Zagora restaurant which has very chilled vibes. No idea if I will be back soon in South Africa but if I will do, I will choose once again to stay with them.

Hotel does not deserve a 4 star rating. No staff in attendance at reception to check in. Had to go and look for staff. No lift to higher floor- only stairs and had to ask the person checking me in at reception to help me with my luggage. Air conditioning in room didn’t work and when I requested to move rooms I was told that they could only offer a downgrade to a poky hot room. Could not offer the same or upgraded room as the hotel was apparently fully booked even though it showed availability on various booking sites. I informed that I am not prepared to stay in the property without working air-conditioning (around 32 degrees Celsius) and that I would rather move to another hotel since I booked and paid for an air conditioned room. Refused to reverse charges on my credit card with the excuse that they can only process a refund at the end of the month.

A comfortable hotel with smart, well laid out rooms. The room included a kettle with supplies of tea/coffee, a heater and a good sized tv. The public areas of the hotel were particularly lovely - the first floor lobby with a roaring fire led onto a cosy bar and a well sized restaurant that rustled up some decent food at short notice. Nice decoration too - such as the paintings of cricket grounds in the hallway leading up to the restaurant (quite appropriate as many rooms look out on Centurion Park cricket stadium). Overall, a good place to stay in the area.
Irene Country Lodge, Autograph Collection®

The attraction of this hotel is its lakeside bird sanctuary. The rooms are spacious but now dated. Basic things are provided like a safe and tea and coffee making. There is also an iron and board for the traveller. Limited toiletries of poor quality. The lakeside walk is worth a 15 to 20 minute walk round. We would call this a good one night passing through place. The only facilities to dine appear to be at the hotel. We need to make a special mention on the staff. At the bar the bartenders had an attitude of you are only here one night. He was unpleasant and edging on rude. We found most, but not all, staff to have the same unhappy customers service attitude and charisma bypass or lacked customer training.

I think you must train some of your waters to be friendly and to learn to greet customers. The waitress who was working on tha monday morning did not greed us ,she just asked us what we wanted to eat and it took her about 30 min just to bring me hot milk and make some tea and when she brought milk it was not hot When we leave the dining she didn't even bother to ask if we enjoyed the breakfast or not.Another thing is that i did not enjoy supper .my advise is to call customers and find out what they prefer to eat so that you prepare before their arrival because at break fast i asked for fruit salad but it was not no there and that is my preference.
