Kyriad Direct Bordeaux Sud - Cestas
3.6/524 Reviews
We chose to stay at the Kyriad Direct Bordeaux Sud-Cestas for a number of reasons. It was conveniently located just off of A63, giving us handy access to the motorway. It was a direct route from our stay in Bayonne and far enough out of Bordeaux centre to make it more affordable. As it was, it put us in the centre of the region, allowing us access to more than just a visit to the city. We were approximately, twenty minutes from the Bordeaux city centre and as we chose to visit the Dunes of Pilat, about 35 minutes away. Having a car allows you more access to more options. This motel is located in the town of Cestas, which has all the facilities, gas stations, shops, etc., so you are not isolated. This is a fairly large establishment, I think seventy one rooms, and as it is a motel, parking is available right out in front of the rooms. A feature that we like. The rooms are ample in size, clean, comfortable, as are the beds/pillows, and the bathroom does what it needs to do. There is free wifi included, and tv and air-conditioning in each room. There is a good breakfast buffet available for a nominal fee. We didn't eat breakfast there, so cannot give it more comment than that. The staff were all very friendly and pleasant as well. Also, access to the property has security in place after hours. A two day visit does border on a whirlwind course, but we made the most of it. The first day we drove into Bordeaux, parked and did a walking tour of the Old Town. Bordeaux (Port of the Moon) was listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2007. It has over 362 historic monuments, making it second only to Paris in this regard One activity that we did was a boat tour on the Garonne, SAS Yacht De Bordeaux. For a cost of 19euro , we enjoyed an informative, relaxing boat ride along the Garonne. Taste of the regions wine was included. The next day we drove out see the Grande Dune du Pilat, the tallest sand dune in Europe. This is a must to see. A visit to Bordeaux is well worth it and, I think our choice of staying at the Kyriad Direct Bordeaux Sud, one that we will repeat.
