We always enjoy returning to Brockencote Hall Hotel. The hotel is beautifully furnished and well maintained, the food is delicious, and excellent service is provided throughout from helpful and charming staff with Reni and Danka being particularly efficient and attentive. We used to stay while visiting the area, now we come just to stay at the hotel. Bliss

Very good staff, food first class, room very comfortable the only slight squeak was that the upstairs bedroom windows did not seem to have been recently cleaned on the outside. The restaurant was well presented and the menu as expected. Give it a try.

Had 2 night stay. yet again outstanding . Great to see Danka at breakfast, such a warm welcome. Also Angela on reception was amazing .We stay at this hotel a lot over the years. It really is a gem for the area. We shall be back later on this year. The room was so nice and the bed is such a nice comfy and huge bed.

We went to this hotel on the way back from visiting friends down south on the Staycation package and overall we loved it. The room (upgraded to a superior, at an additional cost) was great, as was the food and the grounds (albeit there wasn't as much to look around as we hoped for.) Both the three course evening meal and the breakfast were of high quality and my coeliac (gluten free) afflicted wife was very well catered for. Be conscious that being an upmarket kind of restaurant, the portions are very small so you may need to fill up on the bread... When checking out we noticed a charge the bill that we didn't recognise; when questioned the receptionist removed it as she didn't know what it was either (strange.) I found it odd that we overheard two other customers questioning similar charges on their bills which makes me think they add stuff on expecting that some guests won't notice or are too embarrassed to raise. Also, and I must point this out; I did not appreciate having a nearly £16 service charge added onto my bill which when I checked out which I was unaware of. This was not a cheap stay and I was under the impression that the price covered everything except drinks (a bottle of wine should have been included as well I think.) It's easy to say it is discretionary and you can have it removed, but in reality I wouldn't do that and the service industry knows it. Tips should be paid at the customer's discretion, not yours. Lots of places do this, I know, but when you have spent around £300 on one night's stay you shouldn't be having more charges adding on at checkout. If we are passing through the area again we would be sure to stay here again, but would pay even closer attention to the bill.

Excellent setting for a restorative break. Personal touches, checking your preferences re bedding, fruit and snacks in room, things that have been lost in many similar style hotels. Outstanding food, and service. A particular mention to Djana at breakfast, smiling, efficient, but with the ability to engage each guest. Also, the young gentleman in the bar mixing cocktails, and keeping everyone happy. My only suggestion, a little more staffing required in bar and breakfast rooms when fully booked, without those 2 members of staff not sure it would run so efficiently.

We enjoyed our stay here for one night which included afternoon tea. The setting is very peaceful with big gardens, it was an oasis of calm. We were warmly welcomed and the room was comfortable. The afternoon tea was very good but we felt the service was a little slow, we had to keep asking for top ups and the courses took a long time to come out. We slept very well, an excellent quality nights sleep. Breakfast was good but the cooked options disappointed. All the staff we encountered were extremely polite and helpful and are a credit to the hotel.

I generally stay here when visiting the area ( when I can get in ) rooms are well appointed though the top floor rooms get a little to warm and not really many windows to open to allow fresh air. The breakfast here is always spot on with beautiful views over the grounds and for the B&B price it’s the best value around

Had a wonderful evening meal and overnight stay. The food was exquisite and the room was absolutely beautiful, very spacious with lovely views of the sheep grazing in the fields. The staff are friendly and very welcoming especially Ella on reception who checked us in, she was very helpful and of course Danka who we have known for many years now. Nothing is to much trouble for Danka, she's goes above and beyond. In fact all the staff, the bar staff and the restaurant staff were all a credit to the Brockencote.
