TownePlace Suites Charleston Mt. Pleasant

When we got to our room the AC was off and it was a sweltering day. It was if we were not even expected. In essence our visit to this Marriott was ruined. This hotel has not been updated since it opened in 2018. The room carpets have a lot of wear damage with bald areas and are dirty. The top of the table in the room was sticky to the touch. There was spilled food on the desk chair. The couch had several stains on seat cushions. The light fixture next to the bed did not even work. The bathroom drawer handle was not attached, and the screw was dangerously sticking out. The room had no coffee for the coffee pot. There was no housekeeping service provided the entire three day stay even though we requested it. When we arrived on time, the room we reserved was now not available. Then why reserve? Nothing was smooth or enjoyable. We always request any feathered bedding to be removed since I am highly allergic. The front desk employee told us that "they don't have any feather stuffed pillows in the Hotel". I spent the night having asthma allergic attacks before we figure out that two of the pillows had feathers! No thought to the guest wellbeing. A section of wall by the shower was water damaged and mold beginning.

Very spacious and clean. Each suite has a good food prep area but the amenities are not always full. The hotel is not in a convenient area so you have to drive a little off the beaten path. Room is big but the construction seems a little light. We could hear talking and steps from the floor above too easily. Bathroom and shower are high quality. Bed was a little too firm for me. Breakfast was acceptable but not as good as other hotels in this class. Pool was small. Overall not bad but better options are out there.

Sam checked us in and was very friendly. He told us they were overbooked on king rooms and had none for me! But he did offer me 2 queens at half price of the king room I paid for. Now I need ******* to work with this hotel snd adjust my price!!

The stay was fine but check in was not. Arrived at 3:05 pm and was told we could not check in until 4 pm. I am sure rooms were ready but the person at the desk was not willing to give us our room a little early. We had an event we had to be at 4 pm. Not great service.

I will start with the first issue which was that on the site it said electric chargers only to find out it was a Tesla charger only which didn't help us. Room 408 had minimal hot water, the sink didn't have a drain cap( not a big deal, but still shouldn't happen), Breakfast wasn't very appetizing, and pool is really small. Oh yeah and our fridge wasn't working either to top it all off. I am not sure I would stay there again even if they gave me 3 free nights. Watch yourself on this one.

This was close to great restaurants and shopping, yet quite and easy to get to.

Our one night stay was just perfect! The hotel was clean and our king bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and the coffee was hot and available. The hotel is located near restaurants and shopping and is very accessible. Staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay again and recommend
