Great hotel! The service was really good. Easy and smooth check-in and check-out procedures. The room was large, quiet, and comfortable. The shower temp and pressure was good. WiFi was good. TV was basic Chinese channels, no options for movies or VIP plans. A little far to the metro (16-18 minute walk) but doable. If we come back to Chengdu, we will definitely look at staying at Skytel Hotel again. 😎

We had clean room. Very generous and helpful staff that help us in communication and dealing with many issues. Good location. We had breakfast and succeeded to find some dishes more suitable for western taste.

Easy to get to from Shuangliu airport. Nothing much of note nearby, but a fine place to stay for one night if you have a late arrival.

Located a short cab drive from the South Railway Station. Always bring extra coffee packages in luggage as many hotels in China don’t offer.
Short walk across the highway at the cross light you find many good places to eat, drink and banking.

Skytel was a super comfortable place to come home to after long days biking around and exploring the city. We originally stayed there to have easy access to the train to Leshan and ended up staying one more night. On our last day, the staff went above and beyond to help us plan our next steps, including calling our destination in Kangding to confirm the up to date COVID policies. They also have a nice room service menu with lots of affordable options. Good restaurants and cafes around.

The best things about this hotel are (1) the energetic, helpful and very foreigner-friendly staff (2) you’re an 8 minute walk from Mike’s Pizza and (3) you’re very near to the South train station. And, (4), if Covid testing is important at the time of your visit, a 12 minute walk to the local hospital. Otherwise, standard no-frills budget accommodation. Thick windows keep the noise of the busy outside road at bay. Bed was comfortable enough. Rooms and furnishings seem a bit old and tired, that’s the only draw back as I see it, but definitely very satisfactory if you’re just looking for a reasonably priced place to sleep with what I consider a good location. Would definitely stay again.
