Overall, typical Kempinski experience, though not the best one. Staff servicea up to standard. Location wise, not the best as not in the main shopping belt area and nearby food or attractions not as extensive. Requires metro services with change of lines to get to main districts of attractions. Another area of improvement is the breakfast. Breakfast selection is standard, but no enforcement of dining policy. We saw many people coming in with hotel slippers which should not have been allowed.

The hotel service was average. Nothing outstanding. The gym equipment was old and the room air conditioning was stale. The concierge and the receptionist were not very aware of the things around the hotel.

It's rated #5 of top hotels in chengdu by Trip.com but I think is not really worth this title, because the following:
1) old amenities, hotel facilities like gym, pool are old, a 5 stars hotel but without a sauna & steam room is very disappointing
2) I expect a bigger room but in fact quite small for 5 stars standard
3) the room furniture and free stuffs in the room look cheap
The rest are quite ok for a 5 stars standard.

Nice and modern hotel which is located in a very nice place. The staff is very friendly, rooms are clean, but during the stay, the hotel was very crowded. This is a good place to stay during your business trip to Chengdu.

Chose the room that came with lounge access and it was very worth it. Location is okay, around 10 mins car journey to Taikooli.

Excellent, English speaking front desk and concierge staff, very helpful with everything.. The swimming pool is a very nice area and the staff there is also super friendly. Very cosy SPA area, beautiful massage (I was given a voucher). Breakfast buffet Western and Chinese style both really good and also the coffee (if you take the Espresso from the machine). Room is spacious, tastefully decorated and cosy (I had a king size bedroom) and clean with a lotf attentiin.to detail, (Only the coffee table needed a bit of
cleaning upon arrival). Everything else was perfect. I also like the fact that people are asked to turn up in decent clothes for breakfast.

The room we booked is on a smoke free floor. However the occupiers in the two rooms right opposite to us were really heavy smokers who puffed frequently inside their rooms and the worst thing was they wide opened the doors while smoking, thus making the whole corridor full of bad smell of smoke. I've made a complaint to the hotel but no improvement was noted. A no good experience to us!
