The Inn was wonderful and so were our kind and welcoming hosts, Elizabeth and Dave. The Inn is filled with fascinating memorabilia associated with important historic figures in the worlds of music and sports. But, Elizabeth and Dave have their own interesting stories to tell, and we were readily engaged by them.
Finally, as if we couldn't possibly enjoy our stay any more, Elizabeth prepared a fabulous breakfast at which their friend, pianist Patrick Hudson, played from his vast repertoire of music.
It was a stroke of luck we ventured off Rt 77 to stay at the charming Inn in the quiet town of Chester, South Carolina. If you're anywhere near Chester and need a respite from the road or life in general, it's a great place to stay

The inn is located in a grand old house that's over a hundred years old. The interior is like a museum of the blues, with pictures and other objects filling almost every square inch. The owners used to own a blues and jazz club in Florida. They sponsor occasional blues concerts and lectures. On a Sunday they served a copious and delicious breakfast while a pianist played favorite tunes to which he added a boogie-woogie beat. The best feature of all was the hospitable couple, Dave and Elizabeth, who treat everyone as family. The inn attracts repeat guests from far away. I'll be back!

Probably the most memorable hotel stay I've ever had in the US. Elizabeth and David have created a very special guesthouse, full of soul and history.

We had such a great time! The hosts gave us just the right amount of privacy and attention, and they really knew how to entertain! We loved the house itself, which is filled with stories and memorabilia. Our room was beautiful and comfortable and had everything we needed, and the breakfast was perfect before heading out to kayak landsford canal. It really was an amazing first bed and breakfast experience.

We had a absolute fabulous time at the Inn Upon Moon River Plantation. We needed a one night stay before picking up our new lab puppy the next morning. Dave and Elizabeth Claytor were the most hospitable hosts! We got there a little early and had the pleasure of being able to sit and chat with them, and what a world of adventure they have had with their Blues club. It is worth just that to sit and talk with them! Their Inn reflects their passion and love of music, culture and history. Sunday morning they provided the most amazing homemade breakfast, fellowship and wonderful piano music, you cannot get this type of experience at a hotel. They made you feel welcome, and were able to direct us to a fantastic dinner spot. Truly one of Chester's best kept secrets! Would stay again and longer next time!!!

The hospitality was genuine southern. The breakfast was exceptional, providing every breakfast option possible. The owners / hosts ate with us, leading an enlightening, interesting discussion of southern history. We will have lifetime memories of our stay.
