The Chester Court Hotel

Clean rooms,friendly staff, good buffet breakfast with quality ingredients. Easy access to the City by nearby bus routes.All together good value for money. Plenty of choice in nearby restaurants. The hotel has a small smart lounge and a bar,temporarily closed for renovation.

This hotel has a lot of excellent points * location on a main road into the city. * Free secure on site Parking. * Our room was beautifully decorated with an upscale shower room. * Although the hotel is on a main road we weren't disrburbed at night when traffic was light. * A 5 minute walk from a variety of restaurants ( a guide/list /map would be good ) * The Breakfast was fine except for one glaring problem. We were constantly hassled to choose our cooked dish which arrived when we still eating fruit etc so it sat getting cold. The lady server was little short of rude. One American visitor said "Hey, Ma'am, I'm on holiday, let me relax and take my time over breakfast" Exactly our feeling,

This is a lovely clean and well kept hotel breakfast waitresses are friendly welcoming and made sure we were ok all the time. Our room was stunning great features and very period. Shame bar wasn’t open but didn’t ruin our experience. Very close to some very good bars and restaurants. Highly recommend and will be returning.

Couple trip to Chester. Friendly hotel. Our double / triple courtyard room was quite large with a particularly nice modern bathroom. Breakfast buffet with cooked, pastries, nice fruit, cereals etc. Just help yourself and enjoy it. Catered for my vegan partner and seemed genuinely keen that she had enough to eat ( she did). Less than 15 minutes level walk from the station and a few minutes beyond that to the city centre - easy to do.

As a treat to ourselves, my friend and I booked a couple of executive rooms for a night. What can I say but ..WOW! This is the nicest room I've ever stayed in. Not only was it a spacious room, it had such beautiful touches throughout including a fridge, microwave and a fan! My room was mainly gold, I had golden wrapped chocolates on my pillow. My friend had red to go with her decor. Lux soap and other toiletries were complimentary . The whole guesthouse was full of little treasures including lamps made from saxophones, drills, old telephones. Attention to detail was superb. Staff were lovely. The breakfast was delicious. If I had any constructive feedback, I think an extra hot drink dispenser at breakfast would help. When we went, there was a queue and the machine itself is very slow. Walking into town took about 20 minutes, on the flat. Chester itself is just beautiful. The Cathedral is awe inspiring. I would highly recommend staying here and would absolutely love to come back, particularly if I had the same room. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.

Chester house is a brilliant place to stay. Immaculate in every department. Ray Laura and Trudi were very friendly jolly and helpful. Ray as good knowledge breakfast was very good+ nothing was to much trouble. Will go back again highly recommended. Will go back as soon as possible. Love always Annie and Chris Bristol x

Have stayed here before, the rooms are of excellent standard, great breakfast and friendly staff. 10 minutes walk into Chester. Bus stop outside if you want to go to Liverpool or the Zoo. Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

We booked a deluxe room for 1 night and it started so well. The car park was large and the lady on reception was very friendly and helpful. We were shown to our room which was in the courtyard. It was very nicely decorated and a lot of thought had gone into guests needs such as a fridge and microwave and a small seating area. The bathroom was lovely too. Unfortunately that is when everything started to go downhill. There was a strong air freshener in the room and this was to try and mask the awful sewage smell. There was only one window which we opened along with the outer door to try and get rid of the smell. When I went to run a bath large bits of debris came out of the hot water tap. We tried to flush it through but every time we ran it the same happened. In the morning we went to breakfast at 8.05 but were told there were no tables and to wait in the foyer. We decided to go back to our room as we were not likely to get a table for a while. Settled to watch tv when the power went off so we went back to have breakfast only to have the power to go off in the rest of the hotel. The breakfast room is too small to accommodate both the hotels that now use it and lots of people were requested to wait which isn’t acceptable. We appreciate we were unfortunate and these things happen but on checking more of the hotel reviews we noticed that someone had reported the smell in the room a month earlier but were fobbed off with water works being carried out up the road. There were no such works going on now. The hotel and staff were trying really hard to make this a top notch hotel but need to concentrate on getting the basics right first. One other thing was a basket attached to the wall above the bath that would stop you lying back and relaxing, this needs to be moved to the side wall or other end of the bath.
