Not many choices in Xcalak but Antonia and Maria made us feel at home. Breakfast is included in the price and very good and affordable dinners each night on the upper deck were so special after a full day of scuba diving. It was perfect for us.

It is very expensive for what they offer, I don't know why??? ??? And for much less on other paradisiacal beaches you have the best of the first and well the only thing is that the place is beautiful, flora, fauna, nature and the sea, the reef is ultimately Caribbean but the people are friendly but I repeat, super expensive and many people would think that It is not worth it because the Caribbean is very large and has spectacular places in infrastructure and more and I say this because the infrastructure is very poor and the facilities of almost all the hotels on this small peninsula from the north to the tip which is Belize is not a 3-star hotel, some of them are very expensive or even one, and I say very expensive, why are they not worth it, because good things cost and it doesn't hurt to pay for it, but the truth is that this is not worth it, sincerely, and paradise, well, nature is very beautiful, yes.

If you are looking for luxury hotels and lots of people and atmosphere, this is NOT definitively your place. But if you are in the mood for relax, exploring, adventure, enjoying rich food at reasonable prices and having a vacation off the beaten track, you will surely enjoy Xkalak Caribe Lodge. Rooms are basic but more than enough and Antonio is a superb cook who will improvise different dishes everyday. Diving and fishing are also avilable options here.

It is a small town and is absolutely virgin......spacious rooms with views of the reef, comfortable and with just enough......to disconnect from the city and the hustle and bustle...if you want a beach or places Not partying then...pure jungle with mosquitoes and bugs everywhere...spacious rooms with views of the reef, comfortable and with just enough...the diving center is exceptional and the fishing is fantastic ...100% recommended for people who know where they are going.

So Antonio is a nice host and a very good cook. The breakfast is excellent and varied and his optional lunch or dinner really superb. However, the rooms are the most uncomfortable and poorly designed I've ever stayed it. The non Aircon room are right on the beach road. There is a large door and two large tinted pieces of glass. There are no windows that open. All you get is a 10cm wide ***** of vent down one side. But as there are no other windows the air cannot come and and circulate. So the room as no air and is unbelievably stuffy and hot, all the time, even in January. You cannot open the door at night as you are on the street. So you lie under a noisy wall fan and sweat. Utterly awful. And the mosquitoes in this town are insane, there is a swamp behind and once the sun begins to set you are attacked endlessly, you have to cover your skin head to foot. They even bite your face. I am covered in bites all over. There is no useable beach in Xcalak either, it is covered in sargaso **** and smells. There is only one restaurant to eat in as well, with a menu with no prices. And it's very expensive here, the lodge is way too expensive, the restaurants are expensive, and for what? There is nothing here but bad beaches, mosquitoes, and dead coral in the sea. The diving here is terrible too. The whole place is completely depressing. Just avoid it completely.
