We got the family room, which was absolutely nothing like the beautiful, modern rooms in the main hotel, which the couple we were traveling with had and enjoyed. It was quite the opposite. Our room was in a connected building with a dark, shabby, un-attended entry. Simple railroad-style rooms were separated by curtains only, so parents have to walk through kids’ room to access the bathroom. The bathroom is oddly large and institutional, all tan and tile with stalls for multiple toilets and showers, reminiscent of a dorm. At night, bright lights shine through the windows all along one side of the room, even around the curtains — glass was frosted and windows unopenable. The room’s lounge area was not remotely comfortable for hanging out in. We still had access to the pool in the main hotel, but it is very, very small. And the cafe serving the little tables near it was never open (bring-your-own situation was fine, however). Good location and staff was kind. But for the price we paid and what the website showed/misrepresented, we expected much nicer.

Spacious single room and good location. Easy to get around, there is a Karaoke bar, a pizza hut, and a KFC right downstairs.
The building looks modern and room is nicely maintained, even though the bathroom can have a little smell. The walls are thin, and I can easily hear people walking and talking next door or outside.
The staff are helpful and friendly.

We thoroughly enjoyed our one-week stay at ISTY. It's set in a neighborhood that felt safe to walk around in (though beware that there are no sidewalks in most of Chiang Mai so you have to be careful), and we really enjoyed nearby food stalls each evening as well as a full night market by the north gate. (By the way, there's vegetarian food at the far east side. And there are a couple of vegetarian eateries within walking distance, though I think only during lunch.) The rooms are basic (think shelves but not dressers) but clean and comfortable; beds are Thai style so firm. The co-working/meal area is fabulous, as is the rooftop bar; we spent a lot of time in the outdoor co-working/pool area but either wore long clothes or sprayed against mosquitoes (there were just a few, and an herbal rather than Deet spray was sufficient). The pool is gorgeous but shaded and on the cold side so we mainly looked at it haha. It was getting smoky as February went on (thank goodness for a couple fluke rainstorms that cleared the air for a few days), and there didn't seem to be much air filtration so our eyes were stinging even in our room--but I think that's true elsewhere throughout the region too.

Stayed with friends for almost a week and spent a very comfortable and wonderful time here
Located in the lower right corner of the ancient city, not far from major shopping malls and the ancient city. Grabs cost about 100 baht. The rooms are simple and tidy. Basic supplies are provided. There is also daily housekeeping to replenish water and clean the house for you, but you may need to be a little clearer. Gather the garbage bit by bit. They may be afraid of throwing away the things you still want to keep.
The boss lady and the staff are very enthusiastic. We even found out through the passport that someone in our group had a birthday. They specially prepared a birthday surprise for us. If you like to be quiet and have your own space, and have a clear distinction between fun and rest, this is perfect for you!
Stayed with friends for a week, we had a very comfortable and wonderful time here.
Located in the southeast corner of the Old City, it's close to all major shopping areas and the Old City itself, with Grab rides costing around 60-100 THB. The rooms are classic, elegant, and equipped with basic amenities.
The owner and staff are incredibly welcoming. They even noticed from our passports that one of us had a birthday and prepared a special birthday surprise for us.
If you enjoy quiet places with your own space and like to clearly separate fun and relaxation, this place is perfect for you.

Their staffs just too good to be true. They're so details minded, polite, and smiling all the time. Their English & Chinese language skills are good enough to have a bit deep conversations - as to where to go for funs and to share their personal experiences with you. The facilities, swimming pool and steam room are basically like private places as most of the day time no one is really using them. If you are looking for a chill and relaxing holiday without having disappointments for the hotel, I think it's a good choice for you.

This time I stayed in a two-bedroom swimming pool room. It has a sense of space and a large swimming pool. The garden setting design of the room is very good and has a resort atmosphere. I appreciate it very much. There is also a hot spring and the hotel staff are attentive. Except for breakfast In addition, afternoon tea and Mini Bar are provided every day, but the breakfast is a bit average, but the food in the ORB cafe next to it is of good quality.

GGuest User2024.12.25
During my long holiday in Chiang Mai, I was immersed in the culture and customs of this small town, and every day was full of novelty and surprises. However, after several days of tasting authentic Thai food, my taste buds began to ”uprising”. When I laughed with my friend that I was about to “eat Thai food to vomit,” a hotel owner learned of our troubles and his reaction undoubtedly added a memorable memory to our journey.
The boss not only did not have the slightest displeasure, but in an extremely intimate attitude, invited us to use the hotel kitchen freely, let us cook in person, looking for the long-lost hometown taste. This sudden ”kitchen privilege” surprised and excited us, as if we had found a small world in a foreign country.
So we went to the Big C mall not far from the hotel with expectations and selected some ingredients. Back to the hotel, we started the whole journey in the kitchen with a busy time. We were very happy!
This special experience not only solved our ”food fatigue”, but also made us feel the hotel's humanized service and warm care, very satisfied. Next time I come to Chiang Mai, this will definitely be our first choice.

AakacecilChose this hotel for my first visit to Chiang Mai with my boyfriend for a birthday trip. It’s conveniently located between Nimmanhaemin and Old Town, within walking distance to Nimmanhaemin. The area is quiet at night, the hotel facilities are clean and there were no bugs / insects in the room or in the hotel facilities which was great.
Definitely would like to visit again for next trip to Chiang Mai.
GGuest UserMy family could not have asked for a better experience. Toto (our butler) and Ann (the general manger) helped make our trip especially memorable. Our kids loved Toto and continue to tell his jokes. Ann keeps a keen eye on this property, always looking to improve. Only 30 rooms allows for a quaint and serene rest. The rooms are large and comfortable. Easy distance to the walled city. The 137 pillars staff ensure a seamless stay.
GGuest Useri just have a solo trip in chiangmai and i choose the core hotel is ”a home” to stay for 2 day.The hotel have an atractive decorating, the rooom is tidy, clean and spacious.Beside that, the hotel have a lovely swimming pool for you near the bar so you can relax a lot .The location is near the zoo in chiang mai ,wat doi su thep and maya shopping mall.Defitenaly come back this hotel in the future!!!
GGuest UserI was pleasantly surprised and had an exceptional experience at De Chai Oriental. I had almost booked an Airbnb and only moved last minute to a Hotel to avail of daily housekeeping and the morning breakfast. While I was weary at first, I was extremely pleased with the quality of the room, the furnishing, the housekeeping, the quaint little breakfast and most importantly the staff. Big shoutout to Khun Jam and Khun Bow at the brekafast counter every morning. They are pleasant, hospitable and extremely kind even if it’s past the brekafast hour. Also, a big thank you to Khun Nack and Khun Wahn who helped me through tours and bookings of the elephant sanctuary, guidance with taxis for Doi Suthep and assistance with late checkout due to flight delay. Apologies to anyone whose name I may have forgotten from the front desk or brekafast room! This Hotel is close to every single coffee shop, famous eatery and bars. There are ample 7/11s, rooftop bars, McDonald’s and massage parlours around. The famous Why Not Italian restaurant is bang opposite to the Hotel door. I would recommend this place at a heartbeat and hopefully return for a stay during my next visit to Chiang Mai. Best
GGuest UserThe hotel in general is quite recommendable.
The location is good as it is inside the wall and very close to one of the main streets where you can find bike rentals, coffee, washing machines etc.
The room was spacious and the bathroom was clean and we got water bottles every day in the mini bar.
There is a swimming pool when you get into the hotel and it's okay since it's enough to refresh you from high temperatures.
The staff is friendly and recommend things to do in your stay in the city.
The room was very comfortable and the room was very comfortable.
They have breakfast available in addition to the price .
We were left after check out.
AAtthawutL Nimman Boutique Hotel: A Mixed Bag in Chiang Mai's Trendiest Neighborhood
Located in the heart of Chiang Mai's vibrant Nimmanhaemin area, L Nimman Boutique Hotel offers a budget-friendly option for travelers seeking a prime location without breaking the bank. Situated next to the popular Roast8ry Coffee Flagship Store, this 3-star hotel provides easy access to the area's numerous cafes, restaurants, and shops.
Pros
1. Location: The hotel's position in Nimmanhaemin is unbeatable. You're within walking distance of countless dining options, trendy boutiques, and local attractions.
2. Value for Money: With rates under 1,500 baht per night, it's an affordable choice in an otherwise pricey neighborhood.
3. Comfortable Rooms: While not spacious, the rooms are well-appointed and cozy. The beds are notably comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep.
4. Cleanliness: The guest rooms are impeccably clean, reflecting the hotel's commitment to hygiene standards.
5. Staff: The hotel personnel are friendly and attentive, providing good service throughout the stay.
Cons
1. Public Restroom Issues: The most significant drawback was the state of the first-floor public restroom. On both occasions I used it, I encountered extremely unsanitary conditions, with unflushed toilets. This experience was deeply unpleasant and affected my overall stay negatively.
The contrast between the cleanliness of the guest rooms and the state of the public restroom was stark and disappointing. This issue was so disturbing that it impacted my appetite for several days after the incident. It's worth noting that I reported this problem to the staff during check-out, hoping for improvement in the future.
Despite this significant issue, the hotel's other positive aspects still make it a contender for future stays. The combination of its prime location, comfortable rooms, and budget-friendly rates are strong selling points. However, the management needs to address the cleanliness and maintenance of public areas, particularly the restrooms, to ensure a consistently positive experience for all guests.
In conclusion, L Nimman Boutique Hotel has the potential to be a go-to budget option in Chiang Mai's trendiest area. If they can resolve the cleanliness issues in their public spaces, it could easily become a top choice for travelers seeking affordability without sacrificing location or basic comforts. As it stands, it's a mixed experience that requires careful consideration before booking.
GGuest UserWe stayed at this hotel for six nights. It’s in a good location within the old city. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. We did not hear any street noise at night. Our package included breakfast which was a good option. Breakfast included a choice of hot dishes, cereals, yogurt, fruit, toast, croissants, juice, coffee and tea. The pool was refreshingly cool and there is a small cafe/bar next to the pool. The staff were somewhat friendly although there was one front desk fellow who seemed a little aloof. I think perhaps their spoken English isn’t very strong which might be the reason for this. The woman in the lobby who did the tour bookings was very friendly and helpful. There is a security guard outside. Overall, a good little hotel and gave it four stars. (I only give 5 stars if there is something really outstanding such as exceptional service above and beyond.) We would stay here again if the opportunity arose.
GGordonThis hotel is becoming dated and requires a little loving, but in it's day it would have been an amazing place to stay. The rooms are large and comfortable. Our room had a nice view of the hills around Chiang Mai. The rooms, although dated, are clean and reasonably well set out. The beds and pillow towels are serviced daily. Room service is available. Breakfast had a good range of dishes, a d I loved you could order your eggs your way, scrambled, or an omelette or sunny side up, but fresh.
It's a very busy hotel, and the reason the staff are not able to give the best service.
The pool and gym are excellent, but it would be of benefit to the fact that hotel guests didn't have to venture down to reception to get a voucher to go to the gym first.
A short walk to coffee shops, and cafes and short drives to three major shopping centres.
Still an enjoyable stay at an old majestic beauty.
AAnonymous UserA peaceful resort with cozy environment. It provides clean and big room with a private balcony. The staffs are helpful. Prices are negotiable if you wish to stay for a longer period.
It is indeed a good place to relax. Highly recommended
