More of a Guest House but you pay for what you get. Need to access room by stairs so try get a lower floor room.

The pillow is too high and they won’t change the order for me😒 I’m staying for five days I need to revise 150b I’m angry. Then I changed it on the third day. No wonder no one lives here

It's far from the tourist center of the city, but it's a good hostel with bath towels. The only drawback is the slow wifi.

High cost performance, convenient location, massage and restaurant nearby, easy access, there is a terrace to dry clothes, and the air conditioner is cool enough, unfortunately, it is inconvenient to get up and down without an elevator

It feels like an old dorm. It is affordable and suitable for backpackers. Security is thorough. There is no elevator, but there is a microwave in the room. There is also a small terrace and a clothes dryer.

It’s been eight long years since my last stay and I’ve noticed a lot of improvements. It’s still the same old friendly atmosphere . In fact some of the old staff reckon I haven’t aged a day ! You won’t need to pay for a workspace and trudge the steamy streets or dodge crazy tuk-tuk drivers as Madame Varada has created her own air conditioned workspace complete with desk top computers and free Wi-Fi. The rooms are still some of the best and cleanest in Chiang Mai . When I return home I want to install a bidet as they are super efficient. The temperature out of the showers is perfect. I’ve just brought a friend back from the night walking street in his first song-thaew ride and it only cost 50 baht . Just a real handy location but far enough from the madness of downtown. The beds are western style as are the toilets . Some lovely new restaurants have sprung up across the road so I’m going to leave you here as I’ve got another two weeks in CM and I’m going to indulge myself in a dish of tom yum goong for brekky. If you like the national dish of khao soy, a cafe down the road has a killer chicken recipe but you will have to take an electronic buzzer and wait in line as it’s that popular .

This is a lovely little hostel in a central location in Chiang Mai, very close to both the airport and city centre, and perfect for a solo female traveler such as myself. Varada Place is clean, quiet and really good value for money with free tea and coffee. I stayed in the mixed dorm and found it to be very comfortable, and came everything I needed: AC, a fresh towel, plug sockets, nightlight and privacy curtain. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, particularly with assisting me with airport transfer. I felt very at home here, and will definitely choose this hostel again next time I'm in Chiang Mai.
